I've stopped caring about what critics think, really. Both for games as well as movies. Both media are so subjective that it's better to just formulate your own opinions about something, rather than to follow someone else's opinion or let alone the mass'. Critics hated Warcraft as well but both as a fan as well as a movie in general, I thoroughly enjoyed that one as well. Same goes for BvS and heck, even the recent Killing Joke, now that I think of it.

The point with reviews is finding a reviewer who has a taste you agree with. Aggregate reviews are among the most stupid shit ever. Same as something can be flawed on the technical side and still be an amazing watch. A good reviewer will admit this in a review. So bad it's good has become a thing for a reason.
Why TotalBuiscuit is a quite good critic, since he recognizes good game mechanics in genres he doesn't enjoy and can say "I personally don't like it, but if it's your type of game. You might"

I don't care what Critic 47 at Newspaper 5 think about something. I care what a few specific critics I tend to agree with think.
Sadly people miss use their critics and get angry at rotten tomatoes and metacritic.

Then there is those people that insist "This is the Police" is a bad game, because the developers use history and culture from their own country (and that happens to not be America)

While there's indeed a few critics out there whose opinion I could still care for (ironically most of which act independently rather than for any bigger medium), I usually let streams or let's plays influence me more. Possibly in combination with a decent review. But yes, subjectivism seems to be a concept that's easily lost on the interwebz.

When you realise the only critic you really need is yourself.

I watched the extended cut of BvS the other day, and tbh, the deleted scenes make it far, far better. Man of Steel has grown on me.

If DC movies have sucked, its because too many people are used to Marvel and because boards meddle in the movies final cuts, removing scenes.

its bloody annoying. However, I am a Batman/DC fanboy, so I get a lot of the material/references, so that goes against me in that regard.

Plan to see suicide squad in the week, all I really care about is Leto's joker.

Ah yes, the Joker, the most interesting character in Batman series and movies.

Indeed, that charatcer would make or break any stand alone Ben affleck Batman film.

Hence my interest, being a Batman Fan-boy.

Did you know Krogon dress up in a red and black harlequin suit while caressing his Joker poster and refers it as "Mr. J"?

It true!

To be totally honest, I think I might even prefer Batfleck over Batbale too. I know the whole killing people thing is not his style, but I liked the nitty gritty and old-aged, bitter feel it gave to him. Like an alternate version of Batman that was pushed to the edge and didn't have much more to live for. Heck, it was pretty much the Dark Knight Returns.

Exactly! and thats half the story in BvS, a grizzled old batman who will kill... is redeemed by seeing Supermans good example.

And that wearhouse fight sequence, to die for.
