Ok, there was a short mention of DnD, I always wanted to try DnD so I steer our conversation back at it.

The only DnD I have done was a short session over the internet, thanks to time-zones, we figured it would not work and it stopped after one session.

I had a glorious character, a 4 strength cleric (and it was only 4 strength because humans get +1). 
He was so weak, I could not wear the standard armor and had to go with leather armor. 
The DM was also kind enough to change my 1H mace to a Whip.

You who played DnD, is it true that humans get +1 for all attributes OR. some other choice? 
My character did have the whip, but did not have (whatever it's called) specialty for it. 
I figure that raising my strength from 3 to 4 ain't that big of a deal, I rather be better with the whip then.

It was I! And to answer your question, allow me to whip out my Players Handbook!

One of the human traits is all of your ability scores increase by 1. So if you've got 13 Str, it goes to 14. The thing you mention is a "Variant" human. Instead of all ability scores, you choose 2 but you can also choose 1 Skill to become proficient in and 1 Feat. And you refer to proficiency for weapons

So if I pick the variant instead, I can get proficiency for the whip weapon (it was some dexterity based weapon? Precision think?) at level 1, because I could take it later (I think it was level 5 or 6) + a feat (whatever those are) an +1 in two ability scores.

That does sound better, I heard Proficiency is good to have. (And seriously, rising 3 strength to a 4 ain't gonna do any difference)

I think the skill part depends on yoru DM, but you could ask instead of taking a skill can you choose to be proficient in Martial Melee Weapons (As a whip is a martial weapon). It's also Finesse, so it's based off your dex rather than your str.

The feats are certain traits that buff your character in a different way to simply number gains. For example one feat is as follows.

Lucky: You have 3 luck points. On any d20 saving roll, you can expend a luck point to reroll that d20. It resets each long rest.

Theres lots more feats, they're all in the players handbook.

Yea, I had 16 dex, so I had some of that.

Charisma, Intelligence, Cont: Good
Strength: Horrid.

So, I saw Suicide squad today, my opinion is below.

DO NOT CLICK THIS SPOILER IF YOU DO NOT WANT INSIGHT INTO SUICIDE SQUAD.

Garbage. Absolute A grade, badly edited, badly put together, semi-nonsensible, un-progressive plot Garbage. After seeing the extended cut of BvS (which is awesome) I had high hopes for Suicide squad, but it looks like David Ayer (the director) and the exec's at Warner Brothers butchered it.

The best parts had Batman, the Flash or the joker in. each got no more than 60 seconds of time on screen. Leto's Joker had definitive brilliant Menace to him, Batman was great and the flash for his brief cameo was great... but, everything else? no, just no.

...just, awful, I am deeply upset by this.
