I've been playing some skyforge aswell..for a free to play game it is really awesome, and I have yet to see anything that makes it buy to win..as most free to play games end up as

Steel takes Iron and Carbon. Nothing more.

But also, Crusader Kings is one my list to play...since some friends have it.

If you have time to learn it, Crusader Kings II is great. Even if Victoria II will always be better than CK and EU. (In my personal preference).
The tutorial is crap. The Spanish christian nations are good learning countries at the William the conqueror start (original). Don't start with to big a realm when learning. You'll get screwed over.

As for steel. Generally you have Chrome and some other metals in it along with Iron and Carbon. For different traits you want in the steel. Rigidity, hue, strength, etc. Same as you have Zinc or some other very non-"noble" metal for rust proofing.

So "Iron and Carbon nothing more" isn't really correct. Even if those two are the general base (even more so in early Steel).

CK II is great, play it with a couple of friends specially if you're new to it. Have one good player as the king of a realm, and the rest as the counts etc.

Iron and carbon is what is needed for steel, ordinary no fancy stuff steel. It is true that you can mix all sorts of stuff to steel to give it different qualities.

Also, Crusader Kings 2 is in many ways like Europa Universalis right? If so, I likely don't need much in tutorials.

Oh how I miss my Europa save where I made Burgundy last from 1470 when it was supposed to have fallen to 1700! Driving a wedge into Europe, taking Northwest Africa, Australia, parts of India and nearly the whole North America!

did you know the creator of Crusader King and Europa Universalies is based in Sweden? And because of this they always make Sweden slightly stronger.

Sure, it was great once...but everything falls.

Besides, when I've played Europa Universalis, Sweden has been subjugated pretty much every time by every small nation near it.
