Vezara

Yeah I'd love garrisons in other zones. I wanted Vez's to be in Frostfire, but I wanted my warlock's garrison to be in Shadowmoon Valley, so it was rather disappointing when they announced that we couldn't. :P

Garrisons in other zones would have been lovely, offering some more variety!

As for the flying. I enjoyed the no flying, really did. But now that they're adding flying... I'm going to be annoyed, because then NOT having flying will be a chore. I don't like them adding it for those who have finished certain achievements. Just makes it another grind. Better to not have it, more frustrating to have it exist but YOU don't have it...

I agree completely there, Its going to be annoying still i really cant be arsed if i am honest i got Aviana's feather that will get me where i need to go a few months and next expansion will be announced (hopefully) and this whole thing will be like a bad dream

Lars

I still think the Irony in "I DON'T WANT TO EXPLORE FROM THE GROUND LET ME FLY!" "okay, you can fly when you've explored everything!" is amazing.

Top notch shitstorm on the AD forums.

TL;DR: unassuming, professionally-run house guild lasts five years, is actually an ERP sex-ring  where no relationships amongst normal members are allowed, yet every single female character is forced into the GM's harem -- a GM who also doesn't rule out underage characters.

I have to admit that one of my fears about AD was keeping OotRB 'uncontaminated' from some of the weirdness, since DefiasRP effectively self-policed itself through the vouch system for years. It's at least positive that the AD community en-masse can band together to blacklist people like this, even if they obviously can't get rid of them completely.

Okiba

That is both deeply shocking, and also very comforting. An interesting read, good to see AD does have some mature consensus.

Kind of reminds me of early DB.

Christ almighty, that's some crazy stuff right there so it is.

Srelok

Yes, AD has crazies too. Unfortunately.

If you want to follow along with the continuation, featuring his guildees defending the sanctity of the concept in terms of RP immersion.

Don't worry. Everybody gives BR a wide berth. :-)

Oh yeah.. that guild.
I would avoid posting anything on that thread. Instead, watch from afar, read other people's posts and gather clues to what type of people are behind those same comments. While their posts should never determine the kind of people they really are outside of the forum, it's still a tool to learn about one or another person on a superficial level.

.. Though I see that you did post. That'll give you some "positive points" on your outlook I guess. But I don't know if that's wise given how "new" you are on this realm. Some people might claim that you are new and "trying to fit in the crowd", which isn't bad.. though it can backfire in some contexts, namely on heated arguments.

Fortunately, you have the majority of the realm (given that you sided with the appropriate side against those horrendous acts) on your side so no harm done (on the contrary actually, it contributed for the mass voice of disgust towards those ill actions!). THOUGH one of the members of that guild in question did posted something about "jumping the bandwagon", which proves my point that such types of posts considering your (guild) youth on this server may backfire. One thing to consider in the future if you decide to once again post things of the sorts on more "passive but yet heated mud flinging" topics on which you aren't even part of the subject in question.

... Anyway, it's an advise. You can either read, think about it or discard and do what you wish. I'll still watch from afar and comment now and then because, for now, you do seem to need some help in this migration. Plus, I do somehow still care for this guild.. even though I was in it for very little. I can fade away if you feel that these posts of mine are useless to your perspective on how things work.

Concerning Bayerleyn....well, I am one of those people who'll openly admit I have been part of the said guild. And can say its a double edged blade, even if other edge is bit duller.
That guild has some wonderfull events! And when arranging stuff with them, they are among the easiest and most reasonable people to reach a compromise with. They are consistent and friendly.
On the otherhand, the GM is a whole bag of crazy cats, as is his first and second in command. To an outsider its not necessarily too obvious but there's some OOC stuff going on that keeps the trinity together and...can cause some odd outbursts in guildchat when the GM is practicing his noble rights with the women of the guild. I just remember one time when one of the officers was playing while drunk and it got..awkward.

The guild is also mostly a deadend to women in it, as in while they can advance in ranks and such, personal development is stumped by the fact that if they have life outside of the guild(the characters) all advancement in the guild grinds to a halt. My character for example held all the qualifications to reach the higher ranks, except the lord didn't feel she was...loyal and committed enough. I was even told that otherwise I'd get it but my character wasn't showing her loyalty enough.

So I eventually left because of the limitations the guild places on female characters and well...because GW2 had just come out and I jumped on that bandvagon.

Just to bring another view to this discussion :)
And they call me insane? I am the most sane person around!

Kozgugore

While I probably don't have a clear enough view on the guild and its inner workings, I can safely say that judging from what I've seen, I think it's a wholly disgusting matter. Don't really have the stomach for an in-depth analysis of it, but let's say hiding behind (false) claims of historical accuracy is just a piss poor way to get your ERP-crave going and, frankly, is a toxic means to show just how possessive and manipulative you appear to be as a person when it comes to women. Sure, you can claim it's purely IC, but from what I've seen from a few posts and screenshots, this well and clearly goes beyond the IC alone. I only wish AD would band together to get this shitstain banned by Blizzard, rather than making a joking matter out of it on the forums. Would do everyone, including those in their own guild, a lot of good.

Srelok

Historical inaccuracies aside, Some of these things amount to pedophilia.

Rhonya

Blizz removed the topics now, they're no longer readable. So who knows, maybe they'll take a look at the guild itself as well.
