What ultimately made you join OotRB?

The orc-only atmosphere.
The tribal environment.
The large activity within the tribe, being one of the only  big Horde RP guilds on DB.
The need to combine RP with PvP.
Other (please state in your post).

Kozgugore

Pop quiz time! Please answer above question, for interest's sake!
Kozgugore Feraleye - Chieftain of the Red Blade

Greggar

To clarify myself and my vote. When I first came to Defias Brotherhood I had no idea what guilds there were on this server. Gharkfang directed me to the Sixty Thieves at first (he also played on Ravenholdt first) and it was nice.
but when I first met the Red Blade I was kinda in awe to see a large group of orcs gathered and being in formation. Doing all kinds of events together and it seemed like a friendly and close group (Both IC and OOC'ly) The more I saw the Red Blade and the more time I spend with them, the more I wanted to be with the Red Blade.

And it was a random roleplayer that convinced me ooc'ly and ic'ly to just leave the thieves and go to the Red Blade instead. And so, after ic'ly spying on the thieves I joined the Red Blade when it was ic'ly too risky. When I joined the tribe I also got an immediate feeling of being welcome. And I don't regret joining the Red Blade ever since.
Because orcs are green..Doesn't mean they can do photosynthesis..Or can they?

Morgeth

Might as well clarify myself. I joined the tribe about two years ago, simply because of IC reasons. Morgeth was a thief (just like Greggar) but started to drift more towards her old dreams of being an honourable home. Ootrb always impressed me, even though they weren't that big in numbers when I joined. I felt welcome then, and IC it was a joy to explore an entirely new setting for my orc.
I want to be just like you. I figure all I need, is a lobotomy and some tights.

Mazguul

When I joined OoTRB it was a very small and close knit group, the Chieftain had even vanished! The small size, the purely orcish setting, the friendly people IC and OOC... it was perfect. Now it's even better :)

But I digress - I created Mazguul on the Roleplaying forums many years ago and it was Volkan (back then called Okhan) who finally convinced me to actually pluck up the courage to join the RP servers. So I trawled the internet looking for a suitable place for Mazguul where I could explore primarily orcish lore AND have her in a nice safe home. Mazguul herself wished for somewhere with orcs only and so I let her have that wish.

The Orcs of the Red Blade website popped up and so I applied, hoping that while I knew NOTHING about RPing and even less about PvPing that I would at least have a pleasant decline. I got told I could be interviewed much to my surprise!

The day I met the Tribe for my interview was the first time I had EVER tried RPing and I was met with such wonderful, patient and fab people that I have never wished to be anywhere else.... nor has Mazguul.

Though truth be told, it was Mazguul that wished for an 'orc only' environment, a home, a 'tribe' and because of her wish I found the Red Blades... I think she picked rather well ;)
There be more than four elements, there be five! Folk always ferget the element o' SURPRISE!!!

Okiba

#4
ALL OF THE ABOVE!! - in regards to the options.

my reasons for joining are fairly varied, but in the end i just needed to get away from alliance. in the red blades i found a social guild with good structure, active members, a strong background and a pvp ethos i admired (and had even fought against on occasion).

so far i've been in the red blades longer than any other guild, and i dont plan on changing that anytime soon.

Vezara

Other:

Before i joined OoTRB, Vezara was a Troll shaman, whom was inactive for 2 years, i always wanted to have a high lvl shaman, but i didn't feel like playing it. A few times during my time at defias, i somtimes saw Orcs from the tribe RPing, and i usually stopped for a moment to look, and i was always impressed how many RPed their orcs. Expecially Morgeth :P

Also, orcs have always been my favourite race, i just didn't like male orc looks in WoW for some reason, and i couldn't see myself playing a female char. But about a year ago i decided to give it a go, so i racechanged to orc, and starting playing, suddenly it was more fun being a shaman! And after a while, i remembered all those orcs i had seen PRing, and thought to myself "Hm, they seem like a good bunch of people, maybe i'll apply!"

And so, a few days later i ran into Orgash, while questing in Storm Peaks, and we "RP-quested" together. We talked alot, and he encouraged me to apply, expecially after i told him i was already considering it :P

I delayed it for a bit, because i was uncertain if i was "Pure-RP-Guild Material". But i joined for two events, a fight in Wetlands against DRS, and RP-run to Magtheridon's lair, which was also the day i applied.

I see now, that maybe this is more of a story than a reason to why i applied >.> But yeah, there are many reasons; You guys looked like good RPers, i had already seen some of you in action, i thought the idea of an orc only guild was cool and i saw it as a chance to learn more about being an orc, i guess. And of course a friendly enviroment! Also, Orgash was very presistent, kept telling me every day to apply soon!

Ragaresh

Definately the orcish athmosphere and huge activity. Despite rolling and undead for the first few years i always really wanted to be orcish. I loved their lore and everything. I had heard a lot of good things about ootrb and decided to apply. And it was a good descision!

Baor

I'm not going to vote as I don't think I've been involved enough (so far) to really do so; however that hopefully will change in the near future but more about that in the moment in a separate thread.

Having created characters on most of the RP and RP-PvP servers over the years I was specifically looking for a good RP guild that was large enough to have a noticeable presence, focused enough to have a purpose beyond the usual mercenaries, save the world, or world domination idea,  and personally I'm not that keen on evil/cultist type guilds.  So in summary it was the information public available and reputation of OotRB that got me to apply with Baor.

Ugluhk

I started UGLEH on a pvp server waaay back (must have been 4 or 5 years ago) but I soon felt the need to RP. So I switched to Defias and started (in lovely Durotar chat) to ask around for good RP guilds. Someone mentioned ootrb as a good orcs only RP guild, and from that moment I knew that I had to apply!

Said and done, I applied, got interviewed and welcomed into the Tribe by Greggar (on a tree in the river between EPL and WPL which was bloody hard to get to since I was so low lvl :P) and well, since then I have been here in one form or another. The only time I left the guild (when Ugleh died) was the one decision I always regrett, since the RP I had going was the best I've ever had.

What I like about the tribe is the friendlyness and warm welcome you get, no matter how old/young you are, what skkill in RP or in game you have, everyone is equally well met! definatly the best bunch of guys around the net!

erhm... the post got a bit off topic... but meh ;P

Gnash

I needed a place to park my orc. :P

It's not like a I had a whole reasoning behind it. Seemed like a fun gang, and frankly Gruulg's shouting during RP PVP used to make me giggle.

Claws

No sorry Koz not because of the pop quiz.

For me the Blades was a young tribe a new group of people of like minds.
Who played together as a group.
And stayed together as a group the tribe came first and second.
Game time was devoted to the tribe the rest could follow us we where the best out there.
Dungeon runs and raids where wholly the tribe which we failed at because of the lack of healer's but it nether stopped us having fun and laughing at each other's cock up's.
We all grow up together to the dizzy heights of 60 wow wee  ::) thats what bounded the tribe.
Thats why I joined the tribe.

I did not want to see my first RP and memory Charecter fade to the Extrimly stupid low inteligence un-RP of Sporregar with Goon Squad becoming big, so I left it
