THis is just some strange thoughts that popped into my head yesterday...accually while Nrakotz were drunk and stood screaming on the meeting... ::) well, I have to say that I really mean what I said there...not all of it but some.

I have been fighting for the Tribe for 1year and 9months and what do I get after my death (which isn't like breaking my oath really))? A demotion! It would be one thing if I left the Tribe ICly, then it would be understandble. But ICly I died. *remembers the oath he took* Let's see...what did I swear to do? TO protect the Tribe, to protect ´the Matriarch, to protect the Horde. Hm, I don't see dying there...Ah well, the council will probebly fix it as soon as it's full. wait a minute...? didn't Tirrie leave the Tribe? when did she join again? can't be that long ago..but she is already a council member? wow... well I guess she earned it... Thought they make it harder when you leave... but who cares? She is a good leader... what the hell? who do I fool? I care! Thought I'd get a place of honor at least! "No fuck you Uglûhk! you are just a weak new blood!" (ofc no quote, but that is what it felt like) Sorry mates, I just return from the dead to join you guys, sorry, won't disturbe yer anymore... BUllshit! I will disturbe you! in every possible way! or...wait...maybe not...that wouldn't help me would it? nah, ok skip that part... I think you understand what I mean anyway...If not its not so strange, this text is just mindless mumbleing of an old drunk shaman...

EDIT: errr... yea... it looks kinda emo when I see it afterwards... and kinda whiny too... wel fuck that I mean it.

Well, you did drained the soul of Krakun, A red blade member, put it in a purple crystal(soulstone omg D:) and would have kept him there suffering for eternity if Greg and Hakon didn't force you to release the poor lad :p
So this and the thing you said about: when someone from the dead appears before you, it is a bad sign. Actually it also means it's a bad sign for the red blades as ugh reappeared to the red blade Dx And this all makes greg not really trust Ugh that much : /

Because orcs are green..Doesn't mean they can do photosynthesis..Or can they?

Whoa, that wall of text just critted my brain for 9k damage.

And, as has been , when you leave the Tribe, one way or another, you start over again. You chose OOCly to leave the Tribe, to transfer off for PvE reasons. Which is fine, I mean, I'm into PvE too. But you can't just come back in, and expect to be put on a pedistal. I should know :P

And yes, I rejoined the Tribe about.. Hrm.. 2 months ago. And I made my way up the ranks at a decent speed. I suppose you remember when I became a high blade. I'd been in the Tribe about as long then. But if you want to rise up the ranks, you gotta do something about it. Show some initiative, leadership abilites, and maturity.

You came back to the Tribe a few days ago, you shouldn't expect us to throw ranks at you. Having been dead or not, you still left. :)

Well, everybody that leaves and comes back has to start out as New Blood again right?

And in the week since you returned, there haven't been any events to do with becoming Oathbound or Nag Ogar. Can't speak for the new council members, but I imagine that at the first of those events, you will most likely become an Oathbound again, and from there it is only a short hop to do your trial for becoming a Nag Ogar.

Which reminds me, I might need to so about that on Narg in the coming few weeks!

oh, ok I thought the ranks were IC acclompishments etc. not OOC ranks. Suppose I was wrong then. and I don't want to be put on a pedistal either, just wanted to know why I wasn't oathbound (imo I didn't break my oath, but meh OOCranks ftl)

Oh, thought it was a shorter time :p anyway, I do remember your time as a high blade, and sure: you are a good leader. thought that you joined about 1 month ago though, it was that which made me suspicius.

And I have to correct you Tirrie :P I have only been in the Tribe two days now :P And I don't expect you to throw ranks at me. And I will show some initiatuve, errr probibly no leadership abilities since I suxxx big time at making events ( :S ) and, well Maturity will be shown, just wondered what should happen, and what reasons you had for me having to retake my oath (which still isn't broken)

Greggie made much more of a point though. Eternal torment of a Red Blade is enough to be suspicius at, maybe I shouldn't have been let into the Tribe as easily this time? hm, well you are the leaders, I am mearly a servant.

Oh Dogar, That means that the ranks are OOC. Which is clearly not a thing we should want, is it?

hrm... Kozzie left about the time of my return... Don't blame me! ;)

One more serius note: I will fight for every fecking rank I get, doesn't really matter where I start. Just wondered about your reasons. Expect something from me the next week or two!

So because how the guild is run, and it doesn't seem to fit what you want, it's "ftl"? Interesting :P

Anyway, you'll have to work your way up again anyway, and that's how the trick works. For anybody.

Oh Dogar, That means that the ranks are OOC. Which is clearly not a thing we should want, is it?

Explain that to me?

Because what I said, is that the first ranks within the guild come with time. After some time you are allowed to take your oath, and after some time you are allowed to do you trials to become a Nag Ogar. You haven't been in the Tribe again long enough for either to happen. How is that OOC?

Or do you think that once an Orc returns, he should be given the rank again that he held before he left? Because in all the time that this Tribe has excisted, that has only happened 3 times, and all 3 those people at least held the rank of High Blade.

And no, your Oath wasn't broken or released, but again, there hasn't been a single event about ranks since you returned. Perhaps at the next event, the council will acknowledge that your Oath still stands, and grant you the rank of Oathbound again. Or perhaps they will ask you to take it again. Point is, you don't know, because you have only been back for a few days.

Show some patience.

hm, I fight a loosing battle here... and Tirrie doesn't seem to happy with me (judging by the response this morning when she logged on)

Dogar, if I'd claim the rank I held before I died I wouldd claim the Elder position. now I don't I just ASK why I'm not an oathbound. And I got my answer. I don't like it, no. That's why I take Greggar's reason as the biggest. Now I won't fight you guys anymore, I don't like to do it. I just have to accept what have happened. And I don't think I will be fit for leadership anyhow... I'll just go back to being a grunt...

Nrakotz, if you read these words, you should get the idea behind all this. First of all, the new council haven't settled the new ranks yet, or if we will keep the old ones. Second, as has been said many times, everyone who leaves and comes back starts from the New Blood rank. So did Tirnak, for example. Thirdly, you just claimed you are not a leader-type-person, so why do you think you'd fit the leader-type-ranks OOC or IC? And yes, we must also take the OOC into consideration when promoting orcs, simply because OOC determines quite much about your IC, like your ability to lead, spend time and blood for the events and random RP. Of course this is not the case always, but then we're speaking of irrelevant stuffs.

Now, if you show dedication in the next weeks, you will be rewarded. Like everyone else.

(And do I recall correctly you said you're going to be more inactive in two or so weeks? If that is so, why do you want to be a high-ranking officer or sumwat? As said a thousand time, the ranks are for those who give themselves to the tribe, not for bullying/commanding/whatever lower ranking orcs around. ;) )

I must first of all appoligise for my somewhat harse tone here. I didn't mean to offened or whatever couse you guys harm.

Secondly, I understand now. Ranks are both OOC and IC. thought they were only IC before, but you learn something new everyday. And thirdly, well, I accually stepped down when you asked no? I am eager to serve and lead, I would very much like to do it, but I don't think I am fit for it. I don't have the ability to create nice events, those I have was really dull and boring. I'd love to give my whole heart for the Tribe, but I can't. It's becouse of vacation in two weeks, from there I will be inactive for a veeeery long time. maybe up to 8weeks. after that, school starts. From what I heard, next year is twice as hard as this year, equaling less WoW.

Reason I said that I'm not fit for a leader now is that I didn't realise it but now. I have always longed for a leading position in the Tribe and when I finnily got one (elder of the seers) that system crashed. Not my fault but meh... Did I do anything clever as an officer after that? no. I just sat down and enjoyed the fact that other orcs looked up at me. If I remember clearly, only time I did something worth for the Tribe was at the Om'riggor, I helped Koz and Varg there a bit, otherwise I have failed every single thing. Random RP though, I like to think I'm good at that, but that's not the greates ability a leader/high-ranked officer should have. It's important, but not so important that you could overlook my other non-existing abilities.

So, even though I might want to be a high-ranked officer, the best for the Tribe is if I don't become one.

(( and Greggie, you didn't offend me, I offended others. ))

Good to see you're calmed down. :)

Now I believe in your abilities to make events and lead them, if you just believe in yourself. It IS hard work, usually, but it'll pay off. I've no hard feelings towards you or any of the tribe members, so don't worry about that (if you ever did). And I hope you enjoy your few weeks with us before going on a vacation. :3

*coughs* I didn't worry about you Drakash, I worried about another council member. *coughs*

And it feels good that you believe, if only I could... now, who cares? I am still planning events that never sees the light of day. maybe I should realise some of them... I just need to see when it fits me...

Kozgugore

First of all, keep in mind I demoted all Elders when you were gone. All remaining elders at the time were remnants of the old faction system and thus were actually invalid ranks since there were no factions left to begin with. Unless they had completed the Om'riggor, they were all demoted to Oathbound.

Secondly though, I must say I for one did promote certain orcs to Oathbound when they returned after a while being IC. I remember promoting Nafern's alternative Nafern, Karak's new Karak and Grimrag who returned after a year to Oathbound, simply because they already were that rank IC despite their constant inactivity. Once you've taken your oath, you've taken it. Be it for a previous leader or any new one. I must say IC > OOC in that perspective. But that's just me.

On another note, promotions really don't nessecarily rely on things such as this so-called initiative and leadership. In truth, ranks such as Oathbound, Nag'Ogar and to a lesser extend Varog'Gor weren't meant to be ranks that required its members to have any such qualities. They're still normal  non-officer ranks. The reason that I gave Varog'Gor the right to invite others was simply because there was no one else around to do the job for me, and to have at least some orcs who would have a higher rank to show some authority over the others when I would be gone (cause I knew it would happen sooner or later).

My point is, you don't nessecarily need these qualities to rise in the early ranks. The ranks I mentioned just now are purely meant to be non-officer ranks, and thusly require no leadership qualities - merely the will to follow and obey and be a good orc. And I must say Ugluhk's character (Krakun excluded) did show that in the past. He left in an IC way that his character couldn't prevent. Sure, he transferred for PvE reasons OOC, but IC, he never willingly left the tribe.

Still, Ugluhk's post could've been slightly less... provocative. While he does have a point here and there (I myself must admit I'm surprised at some points at how the leadership ended up, as the three Varog'Gor were the only high-ranked candidates I appointed for a future officer rank IC (yes, mind the IC)). That's just me and my opinion on the matter though. Do with it as you see fit.

I agree on Kozgugore here, at least he should be an oathbound and in ANY CASE  In-Character must go before Out-Of-Character
(Well unless someone really, totally and completely messed up OOC-ly with a guild kick up his behind)
