The Campfire / The Legion Comes
August 29, 2016, 04:18:40 PM
The Legion Comes

Smouldering embers, broken infernals, dead orcs and broken structures: the Burning Legion had made its mark on Splintertree Post following the short yet brutal siege they laid to it and its occupants. Where the orcs of the Red Blade thought they had slowly gained the upper hand in warding off the demon threats lurking in the northern forests, a sudden yet decisive strike ended any and all notion of that. They fought tooth and nail to ensure the Post would remain standing, but they did so at a price. The entire attack turned out to be one big, elaborate distraction which allowed infiltrating Satyrs to sneak in through the back and pillage through their supplies.

The worst of it all, however? It was not even the supplies they were after. In the thick of the battle, they came for but a single item that was in the orcs’ possession, and the defending forces learned too late before the demons and their ilk could make off with it: the prized Scepter of the Shaman-king. For many years, it had been in the tribe’s possession since they recovered it from other sinister forces, but the ancient relic of Clan Redblade had once again fallen in nefarious hands. There was no telling what neither demon nor Satyr would possibly desire the scepter for, but one thing was certain: whatever the scepter’s purpose was, it would no doubt serve as a catalyst for their own, evil gains. It was too late to pursue the thieves in the wake of the devastating attack, however. The culprits had long fled, and in their hubris, there was but a single clue that they left behind that pointed to its destination: the Broken Isles.

Battered and bruised, the Red Blade tribe prepared to make way back to Orgrimmar. What was hoped to be a quick retreat, turned out to be an arduous journey back into the relative safety of Orgrimmar’s walls, however. Every area surrounding the great warrior city was under severe attack from the Legion â€" the very city itself under heavy siege without a single reprieve. Even upon their timely return, having fought their way through the siege line in a daring advance, there was no rest for the wicked. A counter attack had to be made upon the Broken Isles â€" the center of the Legion’s power â€" and the demonic taint forever cleansed from the face of Azeroth. For the Red Blade tribe, there was a personal score to settle as well, however. With the Scepter of the Shaman-king taken, it would be a dishonour upon the tribe’s name to allow it to remain in demonic hands. Moreover, its former keeper, True Blood Sadok Sharptongue, had fallen to the demons’ fires. He was the first of no doubt many more deaths to come. It would be a heavy price the tribe, the Horde and indeed the entirety of Azeroth would have to pay to see the demonic forces gone for good, if such a thing were ever possible to even begin with.

It is in the face of these dire times that new heroes and leaders alike must stand up to carry the banner of the Red Blade forward into the fires of hell itself. As ships are sent out into the maw of the beast to cull this threat for good, so too do the Red Blades set sail for the Broken Isles to avenge the fallen, regain their honour and, most important of all, to fight for a worthy future for generations to come. For peace and prosperity. For death and glory. For the Horde. And for the Blood of the Tribe.

OOC information:

World of Warcraft: Legion has at long last come, and as is common with every single new expansion by now, Orcs of the Red Blade strives to make the best and full use of everything all of the new content has to offer! Through a chain of introductory events, the stage has been set for the tribe’s upcoming Legion plot, which will provide for yet another countless amount of stories, developments, characters and drama alike throughout the months to come! To ensure both new and present members know what the stakes are, you can read the introduction to the Legion plot above. Below, however, you will find all the OOC information you will need to know in order to be up to date for what to expect these coming weeks!

As with every new expansion, we are going to allow our members to take their time to explore all the new expansion content without having to worry about missing out on any RP experiences throughout the initial urge to explore the new zones and level up. To this end, we will have a two-week hiatus from official guild events following the initial release of Legion. That doesn’t mean RP will cease to exist, however!

As the tribe embarks to set sail for the Broken Isles, the storms and tides of the Maelstrom will split the tribe and its several ships up, initially scattering the tribe as they land upon the shores of the Broken Isles. Those who desire to continue on RPing, be it by themselves or with companions both in and outside the guild, will be quite welcome to continue to do so before the tribe eventually manages to come back together in the third week of Legion’s release. The tribe’s official landing location, and therefore place of rendezvous, will be the area of Highmountain. So you will know where to make your way towards when the time has come for the tribe to continue its arduous adventure into the Broken Isles together!

We hope to be able to welcome you all again when that time comes. Until our RP campaign continues, you can be certain that there will be plenty of people in the guild around to share new experiences with and to explore Legion’s content together with, should you so choose to. Not only is the end of the world a good time to rise up and become a hero, but so too is it to make new friends for life!

Notice Board / Spirits' Blessing
July 25, 2016, 12:56:15 AM
Spirits' Blessing

Objective:
Whatever it is that we may face in the forest of Ashenvale, I would not have us go unprepared. Physically -and- mentally. The forest is hallowed ground for the Elves, but our very own spirits are not outside of its reach. We do not know if it is Elves, Satyrs or something completely otherworldly that threatens the Horde's presence in Ashenvale, but I will not have it said that we will go unprepared into the forest's shadows. I request any orc from the Path of Wisdom prepares and performs a ritual to reap the spirits' blessing upon the forest grounds for protection. Should any components be necessary to prepare for this undertaking, you are welcome to commission the aid of any orcs willing and able. One way or another, see to it that any forces we might face in Ashenvale will not catch us off-guard on the spiritual plane.

For the Blood of the Tribe,
Wolfking Kozgugore Feraleye

Rewards:
1 Fang per orc.

Additional notes:
Should any components originating from Ashenvale be necessary to prepare for the ritual, ensure at least three orcs are present to protect the party.

Notice Board / Shadows of Ashenvale
July 25, 2016, 12:50:29 AM
Shadows of Ashenvale

Objective:
These disturbances in Ashenvale do not come out of nowhere. Something must have triggered these attacks, and it is our task to find out the what and the why of it. I need orcs who are brave enough to venture out there and put their eyes and ears to use. Investigate the nearby Night Elf and Satyr encampments and make report of their movements and activities. Keep a special eye out for any signs of warbands wreaking havoc upon the forest grounds.

For the Blood of the Tribe,
Wolfking Kozgugore Feraleye

Rewards:
1 Fang per orc.

Additional notes:
Suffice to say the forests are considered extremely unsafe what with the recent disturbances. Bring at least three orcs, if not more, and do ensure you are not spotted by any of the Elves or Satyrs, for Grom's sake.

Fortifying the Ramparts

Objective:
With our arrival at the Mor'shan Ramparts, we must see to our defenses. Whatever it is that may be lurking out there in the forests may one day or night come out to haunt us as well, so I want to ensure the ramparts are in peak conditions throughout our stay. I need some orcs to gather wood and stone and ensure the palisades and stakes alike are seen to proper order.

For the Blood of the Tribe,
Wolfking Kozgugore Feraleye

Rewards:
1 Fang per orc.

Additional notes:
In addition to gathering the resources, the defenses will need to be set up as well. So ensure enough orcs are present to do all the lifting!

With our return to the homelands, we may once more focus our efforts on resupplying and getting things back in order. To ensure all supplies are well-stocked and properly distributed, trade routes are to be established between our present encampment and the merchants of Orgrimmar. I need orcs to ensure a steady stream of supplies remains in order for the duration of our stay here, so get those caravans going!

For the Blood of the Tribe,

Kozgugore Feraleye
Wolfking of the Red Blade

Rewards:

Notice Board / Border Patrol
July 06, 2016, 12:03:29 AM
Border Patrol

Objective:
Orcs,

We have returned to the homelands, and now should ensure we do not remain idle. As we have recently seen, our borders continue to require constant vigil as threats from both within and out nip at the Horde's heels, seeking to bring us down. I will want continued patrols along the inner borders, ranging from Durotar to Orgrimmar to the Northern Barrens and, possibly, Ashenvale. Ensure at least two areas are patrolled at a time and leave a report on the notice board of any findings, even if all is quiet. Fangs shall be rewarded for each individual patrol, and wolves may be put to good use.

For the Blood of the Tribe,

Kozgugore Feraleye
Wolfking of the Red Blade

Rewards:
1 Fang per orc, per patrol.

Additional notes:
Quest is repeatable. Ensure you've gone through at least two areas, with a minimum of three orcs. Interaction with outsiders is encouraged.

Notice Board / Investigating the gem
July 05, 2016, 11:59:04 PM
Investigating the gem

Objective:
A gem, purportedly suspected to be demonic of nature, has been found amidst the remains of the Observer that was defeated in the Valley of Trials. We need to find out every clue we can about its origins and what it may contain, so gather a party of orcs and find someone or something that may tell us more about this object. It may be that a warlock in the Cleft of Orgrimmar may have something to tell about it. Gul'thauk Kyrazha Throatrender is at present in possession of the gem.

Rewards:
1 Fang per orc.

Additional notes:
OOC: Anyone with advanced knowledge of soul gems should be able to describe the object, but send me a message regardless once it's been done for further information to act upon. Outsiders from the guild may preferably be approached for aid.

For the Blood of the Tribe,
Wolfking Kozgugore Feraleye

Lost to the sands

Objective:
Some of the local Ramkahen have come to us for aid, in hopes we may make ourselves useful. One of them speaks of a city now lost to the sands west of here. A place once named Orsis was overtaken by the desert, its inhabitants and their belongings along with it. One of them seeks to return what was lost to him: A gilded family weapon. It is said to remain within a chest in one of the houses that are now ridden with sand. Find the scimitar and see it returned to Ramkahen.

For the Blood of the Tribe,
Wolfking Kozgugore Feraleye

Scouting Uldum

Objective:
Welcome to Uldum, pack!

I trust you have all settled in well and proper and that you shall show our hosts the respect they deserve for their hospitality. On to business. We are not here to sit back and enjoy the warm waters and the sun. We are here to search for artifact fragments of an ancient staff rumoured to trace its origins back to the old clan. To do this, we shall require knowledge of the land. I need orcs to venture out in scouting parties and to see what lies ahead of us. Of particular interest are the so-called "obelisks". They each carry certain significance, and it is the one belonging to the Moon that draws our interest in particular. Venture out and see if you can pinpoint any of their locations, along with any potential threats.

For the Blood of the Tribe,
Wolfking Kozgugore Feraleye

Rewards:
2 Fangs per orc.

Additional notes:
No venturing inside any of the obelisks themselves. I want at least three orcs present to ensure one another's safety, if not more.

Objective:
This camp we stumbled into is a Grom-damned mess. I need some orcs to fix the place up and see it to order. Gather lumber - Grom knows these stinking reptiles need it none - and set up a proper palisade. And someone, see to it that tent is returned to proper condition. It does not take long for rainy clouds to reach this area, have no doubt about that.

- Wolfking Kozgugore Feraleye

Rewards:

Ensure the palisade and the tent are restored at the very least. Any additional improvements to the camp are, however, most welcome and shall be rewarded accordingly by reward of additional fangs, should they be considered useful enough.

Off Topic / Member Spotlight
February 21, 2016, 12:04:18 AM
Rhonya

We've had some amazing members in our guild over the past few years and every now and then, they deserve a little extra time in the spotlights! Who the most obviously choice to deserve some special recognition might be, you ask? Rhonya Steelheart, AKA Kyrazha Throatrender, of course! Not only is she one of our most active and longest members, she's someone virtually everyone in the tribe knows! How well do you think you know her? Read on and perhaps you'll find out a few things you didn't know just yet!

So, how do you remember your first encounter with the tribe? How did it all kick off, and how did you first hear of us?

Well... that is an odd story! I once encountered some of them already when I was still part of a different guild, but I was pretty intimidated by the level of RP they showed, so I actually kept away a bit. More my own shyness, that. But a random encounter messed that up. One of the Forsaken once tried to kidnap Rhonya from Silvermoon, and as it happened, the tribe was there as well to aid with something on the Deadscar. The moment Rhonya got knocked out, Grek'thar walked around the corner and sounded the alarm, which resulted in a wild chase of Red Blades and Sin Belore trying to free me, in which they eventually succeeded. Grek'thar took it on himself to protect Rhonya from that moment on, and kind of... forced her (and me, OOCly...) to go on travel with the tribe! I officially joined as New Blood a few months later. So it was an accident, really.

Quite the detour! But eventually, something made you decide to join and stay in the end. You're among our longest lasting (and certainly active) members, after all! Anything in particular that made you stick?

Well, it was the RP actually that made me decide to join. Rhonya had quite the backstory which the orcs wouldn't approve of, so she kept that secret, until one of the officers ICly found out about it, and dragged it in front of mister Chieftain himself! I'm always one who just goes with the flow in RP, but I was really nervous actually there, I thought the tribe would kill Rhon. Quite the opposite happened, and they invited me to join as New Blood (also to keep an eye on her ICly.) So really, it was the members that tried to have me join for months already OOCly, and the direction the RP took, that pulled me in. It fit the RP, and it felt right!

So by the sound of it, you tend to go with the flow and let spontaneity have it free course. Does that mean Rhonya, your character, went through any changes from what you originally planned her out to be as well?

To be fair, the moment I made her, it was to humor a friend who told me to try make an orc and join the new guild she'd just joined as well. Rhonya started out as a Dark Shaman, and I had absolutely no idea about Orc RP or what I wanted to do with her, so I didn't even have any original plans to begin with! She fled her dark ways, joined the tribe and during that all kind of things happened to her due to other players, which I then turned into plots or things and dragged others in as well. So she went through loads of changes, but most I didn't plan. Which made it all the more fun!

I can imagine! Any particular events or plotlines or the like that are particularly memorable for you?

The rebellion stuck with me really, though not the events. It was more the random RP around the camps with all the other guilds that I really liked. It was also the time I introduced Kyrazha, my second orc and much an opposite to Rhonya. What I also think back on fondly was the time we actually went to get rid of Rhonya's inner demons, which consisted of four rituals in a week, with all the elders of the guild and a warlock. It was a big plotending for Rhonya after three years, and I was really happy that so many people wanted to help me with it and give it a nice ending. And the still continueing plot with some of the Forsaken people that still play, that were such a big part of Rhonya's past before she joined the tribe.

Sounds like a busy time! Other than all the RP, do you feel there's anything else that all your time in WoW or the guild in particular was good for?

It's been a very busy few years, indeed. And OOCly getting to know all the people over the years has really been great. I held a few guildmeets as well, got to know people in real life, made some really good friends. I'm really surprised actually how close this guild has become in terms of wanting to help one another, cheer each other up, even pay for others in the case of our transfer from DB to AD. PvP with people while in a Skype call, laughing our asses off while trying to kill Alliance and failing horribly. Watching Blizzcon together and cheering at all the news. The new expansions coming and all staying awake until it launched, trying to get through the lag and actually do a quest or two. And of course it's a huge plus my husband also plays WoW and RPs, and is in the same guild, which means that we can enjoy each others company and play together online as well!

Got any tips for any fellow RPers out there, that you think might help make them enjoy the game and its RP and interactions just as much â€" and as long â€" as you have?

Suppose the most important thing I could say, don't mix OOC and IC. Drama can be a great motivator for plot and things, but keep talking OOCly to the other person and just have fun instead of getting mad or annoyed. We all play this game to have fun after all! Don't wait for RP to come to you, take some initiative and make it happen, much more enjoyable for all parties involved. Get to know people, make some friends, create some great stories together!

Event Planning / The Song of Soggoth
January 31, 2016, 12:03:45 PM
A call to arms has been sounded to Darkshore, where the Alliance is attempting to use an Old God artifact for themselves. In order to quell the risk of it falling into the wrong hands, the tribe moves to Shatterspear Warcamp to aid in the undertaking.

For the remainder of the week, from 2 to 9 February, an RP-PvP campaign will take place in Darkshore. It will continue all throughout the coming week. Bear in mind that there will be no set time for particular battles! They may happen throughout the entire day, and of course random RP with the other guilds will be encouraged outside of skirmishes with the Alliance!

Game Related / Sadok Appreciation Thread
September 28, 2015, 01:21:49 AM
While we do have the anniversary thread to lavish praise upon one another, I feel that due to some of the more recent happenings, Sadok of all people deserves a seperate, little thread to have some praises and well-wishes thrown his way (after all, he did do the same for me once himself, the cheeky bastard). He's done so much for this guild, both seen and unseen, that it goes without question that he's in fact one of the big driving forces behind this guild. He's been the mastermind behind not only this very recent Kosh'harg, but a great deal of hugely enjoyable plotlines and events throughout the past years. His unending creativity is one of the reasons this guild has been such an attractive place for people to come to us for to begin with, and his continuous stream of great ideas has only ensured that the concept that the guild did already had, only got fleshed and ironed out even more.

It's quite safe to say this guild wouldn't be the same without the immense dedication Sadok's put into this guild in his spare time - sometimes perhaps even a bit into the extreme, be it through his youtube compilations and creations, the new banners he's made, the well-written news posts he puts up, or even the quite frankly insane diagrams of all past and present members and so, so much more. I would almost say that Sadok is a machine, but that would do him far too little credit. After all, machines are cold, emotionless things, and Sadok has so much more to offer than that. <3

So... if you have ever enjoyed any one of Sadok's events or his wacky (or dead serious) RP, give him some kind words for enrichening all our experience so amazingly well! Just don't forget to take it a little easy every now and then either, you crazy coot!

Off Topic / Nationalities of ORB!
June 20, 2015, 08:32:40 PM
So after a silly little discussion, I've begun to wonder which country holds the majority of the ORB members around here. I personally claimed that I expect almost half of the guild to be Scandinavian by now, but maybe the poll results will show otherwise! I've tried to restrict the poll to the most likely countries, since I very much doubt we'll have a lot of Germans, French of Spanish or the like considering they have their own servers, but just state it otherwise here in the thread if that's the case after all! (or if you're a rebel Scot)

Now that our move to Argent Dawn is just about complete, there's a little website I'm sure some of you have already heard of in the past, but I'd like to address nonetheless: The Argent Archives.

In short, this website can be considered a wikipedia for all RP and characters on Argent Dawn. There's character profiles, guild profiles, stories, even notice boards and the occasional prizes. We've already made a guild entry (along with a few orcs to go with it) right here, so give it a look and if you've taken an interest, make sure to add your character's profile to it as well and link him/her to the guild for all others to see! If you need any help in regards to content or pictures, I'm sure any one of us are able to help you, so don't hesitate to ask!
