..So since I've noticed quite a few people from here enjoys costume makings and the like, I thought.. Why not have a seperate thread for it?  ;D I'm currently in the start of making myself some sort of outfit.. Just throwing a few starter ideas out here. Also, pardon me if there already exists such thread, but I'm too lazy to start searching the whole forum xD
Here's the start of what I'm making anyway;

Good idea!

And well.. Seeing I don't want to spam you all silly, have an album with some random snapshots of some of my costume stuff.

Not everything is selfmade , but a lot of it is, with my own two hands, including the headdresses/faun ears/hooves! Even the red and the black costumes the others are wearing. (though Ed actually worked along on his one with me!) The blonde girl is a good friend of mine, she also makes her own armor.

I'll add more once I'll start working on some stuff again. Still have to create a wire-wrap feather earcuff for a friend of mine soonish, so you'll see!

Oh those look great, I especially love that wolf headress :D Also sooo much leather! Currently going to be making leather stuff myself,  (as you can see with the leather scraps) xD But heck leather is expensive.. I found something relatively cheap on etsy now though that I'm gonna buy. The shop got good reviews so I do the trust thing. xD ..Also. Those hoods/masks.. I still have some thinking to do with my own, as to how I prevent it from falling off my nose.. xD *Rambles all night* Anyyywaay! Looks great :3

With the cloth 'mask' I used double sided skin tape to prevent it from falling off my nose, just a little strip on my nose and on both my cheeks. It's actually a 'fashion' thing normally which models use to prevent all those loose folds of fabric falling off their chest. I can get it here at my local bra shop. ;)
Looks a bit silly if the mask is off but then you just remove the tape.
That friend of mine used a thicker leather for her mask and made it so she could get it off behind her head, but that leather was just so stiff and formed under her chin as well so it stuck on by itself due to the shape. I put a pic of it in the spoiler under here.
Spoiler: show

Leather here is rather cheap, that's the good thing on the fairs.. Those leather skirts of mine are simply made of several full small skins of leather, but just stuck together folded over one another so you get this 'ragged' look because I don't like to cut in my leather. I can get a whole skin (about the size of a goat) for 10 euro, very supple.

You can see there, it's simply a wrap of creme colored cloth, with two layers of leather over it, which I then lined with rabbit fur, and there is the knitted wrap thing which is originally just one of those old things grannies wear over their shoulders. xD (Bought at a second hand store.)
Basically with leather you want to also keep it as simple as possible for yourself, thicker leather is extremely hard to work with without the proper tools like an industrial sewing machine, so think simple. You have these tongs with which you can make those little metal rings into things (if you look at my skirt you see them along my leg with the leather string in it)
They are cheap, even the tong is cheap and it works perfect if you want to put layers of leather together, seeing you can also put two layers on top of each other and pull strings through it. Plus, it looks awesome.

Hmmh.. And that really is cheap for leather XD What I'm looking at currently is on etsy, it's relatively cheap too though, but the shipping actually costs more than the leather.. How fun >_> And good idea with those rings, it gives it a very nice look :D

Just finished my Marauder mask from Borderlands 2! I just have to paint over the parts where the superglue is showing, and I'll be done!  ;D Pretty much a hockey mask with red cloth painted with white model paint to create the "arc" that goes across the mask.

Incredibly bad picture since I can only see just enough out of the mask, but my cosplay is pretty much done! Just a few more details need polishing! :D Will post some photos of me at Comic Con, too :D

Did anyone say Naval Pilot?! This was from earlier today when I finished strapping the chest and backpiece, as well as abs and thighs. Everything's been strapped now and I'm all set for saturday!
