Stance on Death Knights

Gnash

Watching a discussion somewhere on death knight role-play, I started to wonder how my fellow tribesmen view death knights.

I was wondering how the orcs (not the players :P) in this guild treat death knights, and more specifically orc death knights in ORB. Do they honor them as heroes? Or maybe treat them indifferently? Or even resent them?

Moreover, how do you, the player, think death knights have a place in ORB? E.g. should they be treated as any other orc, or do they have a seperate status due to their, well, undead nature? And if yes, how should that status be expressed?

Burgorg

Burgorg is shamed of himelf at the moment he thinks he is a walking disrgace to his own tribe, of dying in battle and coming back.

I do not play Death Knight as slab of Emotionless dung.

Drevan

From my experience as a DK, they face an uphill battle to earn any sort of respect. The distrust is understandable, and it seems DK's are judged on what they are, rather than were.

I find DK's start life in the tribe somewhere between Kodo poop and Peon in the social order of things. ;)
I respond to Sakareth and Azuril too.

What he said.
As some Death Knights might even consider become hermits in the tribe stay away until called and such as their Unholy pressence makes Orcs fear and run away from them.

Sounds more like humans to me!

As for me, Koz has always distrusted Death Knights, especially in the very beginning of the expansion. Even if they managed to convince him of their "orcishness" in the interview, he usually kept a close eye upon them at least until they managed to take the oath of blood (which, in the end, weren't all that many).

With the Lich King defeated though, there's less reason to be as paranoid.

Therak

I can only speak for Gruthikk, but he distrusts them, until they prove themselves to him. Raising ghouls however, is in his eyes reason enough to dislike them. Let the dead rest, don't dishonor them by forcing them back into servitude. It may be that you're a walking dead yourself, that was not your choice, if you act worthy of respect, you get it, it IS an uphill battle to get it, but you will.
Think, assess, act.

Burgorg

Yeah pulling the dead is not a great thing to do. As for the moment yeah Burgie does it. As he is to learn his source of strenght. (And being a Unholy Dk in pvp kinda forces to use the little Pecker ><...)

But yeah Death Knights are not trusted by many and like I have said Burgie feels he is a disgrace and walking pile of Dishonor amongst the tribe.

But maybe he changes his mind and proves being half-Dead does not matter if your heart is set right. -nod-

Mazguul

Hmmmm... I guess I could speak for Mazguul - though be warned she might come on here and edit things if she feels I have not written them correctly.

In her eyes anything that is 'not alive any more' is dead and as such should have the decency to lay down on a pyre and set light to themselves (or lay down in a hole and cover themselves with dirt, it matters not) so that they might let their spirit go on to the spirit world where it bloody well should be.

To her the past deeds and affiliations are irrelevant: The 'Walking Dead' are revolting, rotting and unpleasant in her eyes - they damned well should be ashamed of themselves. A corpse is not a soldier, it's an abomination... and 'it' is the name she often brands them with. Lich King gone or not, they are still undead.... and therefore wrong.

However, since for some odd reason these Death Knights are accepted into the Tribe on occasion, she will tolerate them for the sake of not creating a scene once her general out cries of 'but it's dead!' have been ignored as per usual.

There are always exceptions to a rule mind...
There be more than four elements, there be five! Folk always ferget the element o' SURPRISE!!!

Morgeth

Morgeth's view on the death knights varies a lot (she's a bit of a hypocrite), because whilst she made one her blood-sister, she somtimes has a hard time to view them as something but extravagant warlock pets. In a way, she wouldn't mind unlocking some secrets, and command some death knights of her own. The kinship she feels with them is mostly due to the fact that neither warlocks or death knights are that acceptable, which kind of lands them in the same boat (even though warlocks are obviously better ;) ).

I think death knights should be let in on a tolerance value, and perhaps remembering their past efforts. But they will naturally be feared and sometimes hated.
I want to be just like you. I figure all I need, is a lobotomy and some tights.
