Description: Skagluk the Giantkiller was the grandson of Kraag and the younger brother of Hukraz who was chieftain in those days. During Hukraz’s days Clan Redblade was beginning to fail. Having begun as a mercenary army, the Clan contained very few orc women. Too few children were being born to the clan to replace those who died.

Many of the orcs began to journey to other lands in search of wives and the time came for Skagluk to take this journey. He travelled far to the east, until he came to a sheltered valley where there lived a Clan of talbuk riding orcs. The Talbuk Riders were fighting a desperate war against the giants of the mountains. Everyday, many of them fell and things looked bleak for them.

Now, Skagluk had learned many of the tactics of his warrior grandfather and he came to the Talbuk Riders’ aid. He rallied their fighters, organised them into an army and led them into battle against the giants. The fighting was terrible and bloody. For many days they fought, but in the end the orcs prevailed. Yet the victory was at too great a cost. Most of the Talbuk warriors lay dead and their wives were made widows.

Skagluk led the survivors back to Clan Redblade’s lands. The Redblades took the Talbuk women as wives and so the future of the Clan was assured.
