There is one thing which puts me off Warhammer more than anything else I could mention, and that's the fact that everytime I walk past a Games Workshop Store, it appears to be full of nothing but 11 year old boys.

Heh, probably very true (in fact that's about the age I first started with warhammer) but since my b-day is coming up and I had no idea what else to ask for from my parents... collector's addition pre-ordered :-)

Assuming all goes as planned I'll definately be in the open beta, I'll let you know how it goes. At least I will if I have enough play time to find out anything interesting (decorating is done now but with the return of the sun there's loads to do in the garden, not to mention the small nappy wrapped poo machine I acquired recently  ;)  )

Hmm tough one.. But if we can keep adding numbers..How come 3 did go to 4? If there is an 'infinit' amount of numbers between 3 and 4 how come 4 does excist? Because 4 is the end of the 3 series and the beginning of the 4 series to 5.

Unless of course 4 can be put everywhere after 3. And that means we can decide when it's the end of 3?

Which means..We can keep adding stuff by free will. There is always a limit. But we humans keep making it longer by adding more numbers. But always after that comes 4.

Conclusion..There is no infinity..We only make the distance between 3 and 4 bigger. But there is always an end.

the distance between 3 and 4 remains fixed, we just chop it into very small pieces. think of it like a cake - you can chop it in half, then quarters.. with a large enough cake and a fine enough blade you could chop it into millionths or billionths. No matter how many pieces of cake you cut from a single cake, they will never amount to more than 1 cake, for more you need to get a second cake (mmm, cake :) )

Eventually with a cake you will be limited by physics - can you cut down to individual atoms? can you split quarks? With number theory you don't have these physical restrictions - you can split it down into an infinite number of parts which fit in the fixed 'space' between 3 and 4 simply because they are infinitely small.

Claws, in a theoretical sense, 2 parallel lines of infinite length should never meet. In the universe as we know it (or think we know it) we face the idea that space is curved by mass/gravity - even time gets messy. So I suppose 2 infinite parallel lines could be effected by gravity in diferent ways due to the distance between them and appear to curve, eventually meeting.

generally I think travelling is used as a time sink to prevent people progressing too fast - hence many simple quests involving zero difficulty but large amounts of 'take this message to Mr X, half a continent away' followed by 'thanks, but really Miss Y on the other side of the world should see this' and finally, 'ok... take this reply back to Mr X who will give you another message to take back to the first person and 6 silver pieces'. Not to mention the fact that mounts, especially flying, make many quests a hell of a lot easier simply by virtue of being able to outrun most mobs you don't need to kill - thereby enabling you to quest without having to waste time evading/fighting trash in the way.

City of Heroes/Villains makes a big deal out of giving you fast(ish) travel early on with an upgrade a few levels later. unfortunately the game, while fun at first, is exceedingly repetitive and boring after a while (even when compared to other grind fest mmo's).

as for carrot on stick working for wolves... well, you could beat the wolf with the stick. but i think beating wolves should come with a severe health warning. alternatively, the wolf may be chasing the rabit that tried to eat the carrot.
