The Journal of Kei

((Only read if you or bored goes on a bit taken from old postings))

A Trusted Blade by your side.
It his here that my story starts.
Thrall needed to lessen the burden on his self and in powered his personal body guard Nazgrel to aid him in the running in the day to day maters of the now vast Orc Empire.

Nazgrel became trusted and much liked by the Horde and even respected by the Humans for his Honor both on and off the field of battle.
He lived by his own code which was looked upon by some with strange amusement for that of a great warrior.

1.   Be selective in your prey do not kill for the love of killing that only takes you down the path of the berserkers and once again to the doors of the Legion.
2.   Be wary of all whom use the dark arts especially the warlocks for it was these that plunged our kind into the service of the Legion.
3.   Trust is built upon time, trust once and see what develops from that trust.
4.   Never look down on an Orc of lower station we all started there even the greatest of our warriors and leaders.
5.   And above all nether ever take the blood of an orc unless he is your mortal enemy.

In time Nazgrel took an Orc wife Teku who he had rescued from a Human raiding party among the hills of the Barrens.
Teku was of a wild character which drew Nazgrel to her, not knowing a family and only a handful of trusted friends, she was street wise living in the back alleys of Alliance and Horde town’s coming and going as she liked an Orc of great stealth known to her few friends as Ghost.
The marriage was how ever short lived as she could not live the life of Nazgrel within the confines of the Horde city.
She left Nazgrel with great reluctance and on good terms and vowed to return to him when she felt she could settle down.
Nazgrel was torn between the Horde nation and his love for his wife but could not leave the Horde but understood his wife’s dilemma has he too had a deep longing for the open tundra again.
He provided for all her needs and gave to her a great wealth so she would not need for any thing and also two loyal blade warriors as her personal body guard.

Unbeknown to Nazgrel, Teku was with child when the final day of her departure came and she vowed that she would not revile this to him has it would tear Nazgrel apart having to then decide between the Horde and his now extended family.
She made her retainers swear a blood oath not to revile her secret, but in return had to swear as part of that oath to let the knowledge be known to the off spring when he / she came of age of its heritage as well as Nazgrel his self.

And now that brings me to my life so far.
I was brought up not knowing my heritage.
I was known as Claws because of my fast and unyielding way of battle (although this is not my given name).
Always being kept away from others to keep my identity from becoming knowledge to the Humans whom would go to any lengths to get hold of the child of one of there greatest adversaries.
Except for the company of my mother’s retainers whom came to be my tutors and closest friends taught me all they could about the way of the blade and bow my only other company were the teachers brought in from around the known world to instruct me in the ways of diplomacy and commerce.
At the coming of age was told the story of my heritage which came as a great shock to me, always believing that I was just an unwanted illegitimate child of some noble and not the wanted child of some Great warrior in the personal ranks of the greatest of all warlords Thrall.
After many days of soul searching I went to my mother telling her that I wished to be known to my farther and would go to him in the Horde city which she agreed as her blood oath had dictated.
On my departure she came to me and gave me two wonders blades both which had belong to Nazgrel him self and would be the proving my blood line.
And told me of the unwritten code of honor which my farther lived by and which I should endeavor to live by with a few added on from her.

6.   Remember not all have the luxury of your up bringing and are thrown into there destiny some willing to be, some not so willing but just carried along by circumstance.
7.   Trust in your blade and your own skills do not rely on others to come to your aid.
8.   And keep your identity safe from those whom would show you harm.

                                             I ‘m known as
                                                        Claws

And yet my life story is not yet done I can often be seen sitting with my father and the elite guards, and even some times Thrall his self being told of great battles long forgotten in the history of our great nation but not in the hearts and minds of our great of warriors.
And when sitting there I see in the eyes of my father the longing for once again the simple life and being reunited with his wife and love Teku.

It is with deep regret that I’m putting quill to parchment to report to the noble and honourable tribe of The Red Blades the events and reasons for infiltrating the tribe.
For I must now confess I’m not the Orc you all think I’ am.
I will start with a full copy of a report I have now sent to my true Lord and patron.

Thrall
It is as I have said the taint of the Legion.
IS NOT UPON THE  RED BLADES.

The existence of this tribe is a noble and loyal one and should be honoured within the Orc nation.

It is with some sense of relief I must report that I have failed in my duty to carry out your order to terminate Kad the blade warrior whom I was sent to investigate.
He may be (which I very much doubt) still the only source of concern within the tribe.
Although we did cross blades he meet me in true combat, with great honour and not as one whom had been tainted.
He did not fight with deception in his heart a true reflection that he had not been tainted.
He had me beat, but he did not or would not follow through with any killing blow this has left me confused.
Could the reports on this warrior be wrong, could the source of your information be less then accurate, perhaps we should be looking more deeply at that source, after all was it not a warlock who first brought this tribe to your attention?
I feel the answers to these questions are yes you have been deceived.
Why?
To bring down the tribe of The Red Blades.
For they are a great thorn in the side of the human alliance a trait I wish all tribes had then perhaps we could all sleep with out a blade in our hands.

I have found an old script containing a parchment within Kads possessions of his life cycle a copy of which I have enclosed with this report.
It clearly tells of a young Orc whom had a troubled youth, was it merely these demons that had come back to haunt him in his twilight years and not a tainting.
I have also heard stories of his social habits manly his drinking habits it has been said he participated in long sessions to keep his past at bay.

The leader of the tribe is one Akseha her story is not yet known to me.
She leads the tribe in a fair and just way not with an iron hand as many other tribes.
She is revered with in the tribe to the point of worship by some which I would add is not looked upon by myself as a healthy thing.
My only misgivings here are that she wanders with out personal guard not a wise thing.

In conclusion the tribe is clean of any taint and should no longer be under any sort of outside involvement from yourself or the agency.

On a personal note I have come to respect the tribe and wish to stay within there family,
And yes before you say it uncle “you should not become personally involved in your work” I must report that once again here I have failed you.

I will be talking with Alkesha and asking if this sits well with her and the rest of the family.
If they are as noble a tribe as I see them then they will understand it was a necessary act which I have carried out and not a personal vendetta.
After all if Kad had been tainted (and this I do not now believe) he could of brought the whole tribe down and took them into the abyss of the Dark Legion.
Incidentally there are a few orc within the tribe that should be approached and would make fine agent’s names of which I will be sending to you soon.

                                                   Claws

Daughter of Nazgrel.
First Assassin to Thrall.

On another mater I have still not received payment for my last assignment the assignation of the Blackhand agents, are your arms that short you can not get to the bottom of your pocket.

To the Tribe of The Red Blades.

I look back on my deeds within the tribe with deep sorrow for the deception I’m guilty of but I would if so ordered do it again to preserve the Orc nation.
I did not get close to Kad which I now regret, as this would of comprised my mission.
And I implore you all not to judge me on that mission.
Kad should and will be remembered within the tribe for the great and noble warrior a master traction he once was and not the old confused Orc he had become in his later days.
He had gone against the wish of his matriarch and sent his self into exile an act that told me he was battling within his own mind.
He was taking the lives of innocent family’s women, and children alike not the act of a noble warrior (this was also against the wish of his matriarch but I also note here he was not the only one participating in this act).
When we crossed blades, I saw some thing within in his eyes I had not seen within him for many a day.
Sorrow and realization of what he was becoming was that what stayed his blade and made him run away to hide his inner anger.

I say to you all look for this once great warrior in the place’s he once called home and share a drink or two talks of old deeds with him and treat him with great honour for he deserves nothing less.
My work is done.

She has been found.

Report to the Matriarch, Officers and Tribe of the Red Blades
She has been found.
This was all that was written on the parchment handed to me by Alkesha.
But that was all I needed to know.
The she was Teku my mother.
Teku wife to Nazgrel the first aid to Thrall
Thrall although not of my blood my uncle by name.

She had taken me as a child on a self imposed exile away from the great city.
Always kept away from others to keep our identity from becoming knowledge to the Humans whom would go to any lengths to get hold of the child or wife of one of there greatest adversaries.
(See My story A TRUSTED BLADE).
But the un-thinkable had happened she had been found and taken as a hostage.
Yes the parchment said it all.
A red mist came over me as I ran to my father.
I found him in the main chamber of the citadel a crumpled visage of an Orc sitting on the great steps before the throne speaking with Thrall.
“Call out the garrison we march on Stormwind” Thrall thundered.
I had nether seen my Lord Thrall in such a rage.
The citadel became a hive of activity to carry out the Lords orders.
“STOP THIS MADNESS”, in between hart rending sobs, the words came from my father
“Ya can not do this she knew the risk’s involved”
The citadel came to a dead stop; all eyes looking at Thrall never had any one dare speak in such a manner.
Thrall bent down and picked my farther up from the floor in his massive arms.
“Come my friend we will talk in private Claws come this concerns you also”.
I was led away to my Lords private rooms.
We sat; Thrall sent for strong sprits and ordered for “Qulquest” to attend him in his chambers.
This name was unknown but for some reason a sense of foreboding came over me.
The bear skin drapes which covered the door way opened and in walked a tall slight figure draped in an old dirty cloak which completely covered from head to foot.
“You sent for me master”.
The figure with a great flurry removed the cloak and standing just feet away from me was a she elf.
On instinct alone I jumped at the figure blades drawn, but I was stopped by the powerful hand of Thrall in mid air as he caught me like a rag doll.
“Hold Claws”, his voice boomed out “This is one I trust whom brought the report of your mother to us”.
“Greetings Claws I wish we had met under far better circumstances” the words came with a hint of danger and sarcasm to them.
“Tell us all once again what has befallen Teku and leave nothing out Qulquest, and Claws you will treat Qulquest with respect”
Thrall voice boomed as he placed me back on my feet.
“You maybe my first and may be one of my best assassins but you are not the only one” thrall said with a sly wink.
Qulquest once again gave her report telling how Teku had been found due to the searching’s of a renegade warlock by magical means, whom had sold the information to the Bishop of Stormwind a human who saw all Orcs as abominations and it was his duty to eradicate all Orc’s and now he had the means to start what he saw as a holy war.
And how she was taken in chains to the capital city of Stormwind, deep inside alliance territory to a great building called the cathedral and put on show for all to see the wife and abomination of the great Nazgrel.
“I will free her”
The words came from me without any thought.
I was num; all I had was a deep hatred of all humans which was now bubbling up to the surface my life meant nothing.
“Claws although your abilities are great indeed you can not do this” Thrall said with a hand on my shoulder.
“Perhaps she can my Lord with help” said Qulquest, “I can get her into places where few have ever been”.
“NO I will not sacrifice my daughter to these humans” Nazgrel barked.
“Farther it is the only way you know this, why risk the lives of many when may be one or two can succeed”.
I gave Qulquest a long deep look, could she be trusted?
“Once again young one your wisdom out weighs your years go take what you need from the armoury”. Nazgrel replied with a deep sigh.
“I need nothing but my father’s blessings and his blades”.
“And that you have daughter”.
“I tell you all here and now my blood oath means nothing to me until my mother is safe any that stand in my way WILL die at my hands”.
Thrall bent his head to the ground “So be it Claws I release  you from your oath I only pray you do not lose your self in your rage, you have two days before we attack”.
I turned and moved towards the door.
“Qulquest a word in private before you go”.
“Yes my lord of course, Claws I will catch up to you”.
Thrall bent down low so that his eyes meet with Qulquest and said in low gruntal voice
“No this elf if any thing happens to her your life is forfeit”.

I made preparations for my departure from the city.
Destroying any thing that could lead any one back to the city I was once again a loner a ROGUE.
On my way out of the city I came across a young Orc rogue who I recognised from my tribe and gave to him a gift the last act of compassion I made as a rational Orc.
I moved out of the city with only two thoughts.
KILL THE BISHOP AND FREE MY MOTHER.

Events that took place within alliance territory I will keep short as it is painful for me to even think upon now but perhaps in time I will be able to fully come to terms with what I did.
On my short journey and in the time it took for me to carry out my assignment I did horrific things I killed many no matter what age, male or female all where in my way and they all died.
I killed the Bishop and took great time and pleasure in it cutting limb from limb slowly.
I spat in his face as he begged for my mercy and for me to end his agony finally cutting his throat I watched as his life blood flowed away.
I found my mother relatively unharmed deep in the bowls of the human city.
Qulquest was good to her word, showing me and my mother to an underground river flowing out of the city.
My mother was safe the Bishop dead.

We later meet up with a band of Orcs as arranged by Qulquest whom my mother went with once again going into self imposed exile she promised to visit us all soon.
Before she left we sat talking I told her of my half sister Talon a fine young shaman and she showed no malice at this revelation, and said it was good that Nazgrel had found some company in his life which she was unable to give.
I carried on by way of the river with Qulquest not knowing or caring where she or it took me I was drained and what I had done and became tormented me.

I awoke in the bottom of a great ship how I got there I do not know had Qulquest placed me there, all was a blur all I wanted was to get of the ship and get to safety, but where was I.
“Oy Claws is dat you?”
A large toothy grinning Orc was leaning over me.
“Oy it me Oznack Where ya been we be looking for ya”.
I had dropped back into a dreamless sleep only to be woke by this strange Orc grinning at me.
My head was pounding.
My hand came to rest on a bag lying at my side.
“Ah what who are ya do I know ya?”
“Shhh quiet can’t talk hummeys “, Oznack said with the same toothy grin.
The noise of battle came to my ears.
I grabbed the bag and saw two blades sticking out the top MY BLADES I knew them but could not remember them I instinctively strapped the blades on also in the bag was armour was it my armour?
I ran from the small cabin but not to join the rageing battle outside on the deck.
I slid over the side of the ship tied the bag to my belt and swam away I just wanted to get away.
I awoke some time later on the banks of some sandy beach my head was still pounding had I been drugged?
“Hi ya Claws” there was that name again it came from a small Orc Child playing in the sand
“Do you know me young one?” the small Orc burst in to a deep rawing laugh.
“Shaw I know ya who does not know ya, I fink ya be in trouble though ya father going mad”.
The little Orc ran off laughing.
My father who was my father?
“Ah ok fanks”.
I tuned and was greeted by the sight of a giant pair of gates big enough to let a lizard fly through and these where flanked by two large Orc’s holding axes the size of me.

“Greetings Claws good ta see ya back in one piece huhuh, ya father be looking for ya, are we going ta battle the hummeys?”
I walked in the great gates with no answers only questions.
“Where was I, who was I, who was my father”.
My senses where over whelmed with the sight that was awaiting me.
I had walked in to a large city which was flanked by high cliffs to 3 sides there where Orcs, Trolls and even Undead roaming the wide streets.
All had a sense of purpose except me.
I found my way to a store which sold strong sprits.
“Give me a case of ya sprits”. I went for my money belt but found it not to be there.
“Forget ya money again Claws huhuh no worries ya credit be good ere”.
I walked out into the hot air and sat, taking a long pull on a bottle of sprits my head spun from the potent drink, I did not stop drinking till I had finished my third bottle.
“Ya can’t drink ya problems away Claws”, came a shout.
“Whhaa who”, the air was filled with laughter.
“Ya must be drunk if ya can’t recognize me she Orc”.
“Baa keep away if you no what good for ya” I sputtered.
“Suit ya self still the same Claws we all know”.
I collapsed in to the dirt the world spinning around my head.

“Ya be there Claws ya back with us?”
My eyes slowly opened to a huge face mapped with scars looking down at me.
I jumped up and instantly fell to the hard floor.
“Aye she be back” came a deep thundering laugh
Two large hands picked me up from the floor and placed me back on to the bed.
“Do ya stuff priest” came that same thundering voice a voice I knew.
“She be drugged” said the priest in the high pitched voice used by the Troll tribes.
A blue glow surrounded my body as the Troll priest started to weave her healing magic.
I started to feel a heat moving up my body, an awareness of my surroundings and the Orc’s around me and flashing memories of who I was crept back in to my head.

“Thrall is that ya name”?
“Aye lass it be me and der be some body else who ya know here too”.
I knew who it was with out even seeing the large Orc.
“Father”.
“Aye I ere and ya need a good slap for scarring me half way ta me death”
The Orc bent down and picked me up and gave me a bone crunching hug.
“Ahh humm Can ya talk Claws can ya remember any fink” came Thralls thundering voice,
“Do I call out the garrison?”
“No my Lord the deed is done”.

A day later I once again walked out from the citadel with my trusted blades strapped around my waste but I was not the same Orc who had walked in two days before.

                                                       I WAS CLAWS.
                     REBORN.

Personal Notes:

Who is the renegade warlock who sold my mothers whereabouts and where can I find him or even her, we had unfinished business.
Once again warlocks are a part of my life circle I do not trust them.
Who was Qulquest and how many more like her are there, had she drugged me because I had learnt or seen more then I should of, or was she just trying to keep her identity secret?
Will I ever be able to put the horror of what I had done be hind me?
Can I truly fit back into my adopted tribe?
Can I once again start to live by my blood oath or have I been dammed?
Only time will tell.

Elven History as told to me may be not a true account who knows.

In all most seven millennia before the First War, the exiled high elves landed on the shores of Lordaeron to seek out a new home. These outcasts were led by Dath’Remar Sunstrider, whose surname meant “he who walks by day”.

Cut off from the powerful energies of the Well of Eternity and no longer immortal, many of the high elves died from exposure or starvation during their long journey. In addition to these hardships, the elves were forced to flee the site of their first settlement, Tirisfal Glades, due to a mysterious evil influence that drove many of their number mad.
As they pressed further inland, the high elves developed a blood feud with the cunning, barbaric trolls of Zul’Aman, who controlled most of the northern reaches of Lordaeron. Finally the exiles reached a region whose forested glades reminded the high elves of their distant homeland in Kalimdor. The elves drove out the resident Amani trolls and founded the kingdom of Quel’Thalas.
Using a vial of sacred water stolen from the first Well of Eternity, the high elves created a fount of mystical power at a convergence of powerful ley energies in Quel'Thalas. They named this fountain the Sunwell, and its potent arcane magic fed and strengthened all high elves on Azeroth. Thus, the city of Silvermoon was established. The power of the high elves grew, and they cast an enchantment on the forest that would keep them bathed in eternal springtime.
Elven magi crafted monolithic Runestones along the borders of Quel’Thalas; these massive stones powered a magical shield intended to mask the elves' magic from extra-dimensional threats and protect the land from invasion. The hard-won peace of Quel'Thalas would endure for roughly four thousand years.
Thirsty for revenge, the Amani trolls eventually gathered together and staged a vicious campaign to destroy the elven civilization forever. The high elves were hopelessly outnumbered. The current king of Quel'Thalas, Anasterian Sunstrider, desperately sought allies to aid him in the war, and so it came to pass that the king struck a partnership with the human nation of Arathor.
The elves taught a small number of humans how to wield magic. With these new magi and the armies of Arathor, the high elves succeeded in destroying the trolls’ power base. The Amani empire would never fully recover from its defeat.
Quel'Thalas had been saved, and so the high elves pledged their loyalty and friendship to the nation of Arathor and to the bloodline of its king, Thoradin. As a result of the alliance between Arathor and Quel'Thalas, the wizard nation of Dalaran was formed, where humans and elves would study magic for years to come.

The isolationist elves took little interest in the events of the Second War. Nevertheless, they provided the Alliance of Lordaeron with token support, for the last descendent of King Thoradin, Lord Anduin Lothar, commanded the Alliance military forces. The high elves had not forgotten their pledge.
Then the Horde recruited Amani trolls into its ranks. Shortly thereafter, the Horde burned down the borderlands of Quel’Thalas and slaughtered many high elf civilians. Furious at this wanton destruction of life, the elves subsequently committed all their resources to the war.
By the time the Horde was driven back, however, the orcs and trolls had already achieved their true goal: to steal and desecrate many of the Runestones that powered the elves’ defensive shield. The warlock Gul’dan then used the pilfered stones to power his devious Altars of Storms.
Nevertheless, the Alliance ultimately won the Second War, and most of the vanquished orcs were rounded up and placed in internment camps. In the war's aftermath, the cost of rebuilding was significant, particularly when added to the cost of maintaining the internment camps. Without a common enemy, the human nations began bickering over territorial claims. To make matters worse, the high elves abruptly seceded from the Alliance, blaming the humans' poor leadership for the burned forests of Quel'Thalas. High elves gradually grew further and further apart from their human and dwarven allies.
During the Third War, the evil prince Arthas Menethil laid waste to Quel’Thalas, wiping out most of its population and reducing large tracts of the mighty kingdom to ash in his quest to reach the Sunwell. Yet not all who fell before Arthas stayed dead: his courageous archenemy, Ranger-General Sylvanas Windrunner, was raised into undeath to serve the merciless prince as a powerful, tormented banshee.

As the undead armies closed in on the Sunwell, a high elf named Dar’Khan Drathir (who hoped to gain the favor of the Lich King) aided Arthas by lowering the shields surrounding the Sunwell. Dar’Khan’s treachery resulted in an explosion that knocked him unconscious and scattered most of the Sunwell’s powers.
The wizard Borel (also known as Krasus and the dragon Korialstrasz) sensed the mystical energy being unleashed and succeeded in trapping a portion of it inside an avatar disguised as a young human girl, Anveena. Unaware of Borel's deed, Arthas then used the remaining energies of the Sunwell to reanimate the spirit of Kel'Thuzad in the form of a nightmarish lich.
In the aftermath of the battle, King Anasterian lay dead along with the members of the Convocation of Silvermoon, the high elves’ ruling body. Lor’themar Theron, Sylvanas Windrunner’s second–in–command, assumed temporary leadership of the high elves, for the true heir to the throne, Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider, was still in Dalaran. The few remaining high elves to survive the Scourge's invasion quickly grew ill and apathetic.
It became clear that the high elves had become addicted to the Sunwell’s arcane energies. Being constantly suffused in magic had fundamentally changed their race. Now that the source of their magic was gone, they were suffering acute pangs of withdrawal.

Prince Kael’thas was the last of the royal line and a member of Dalaran’s ruling council, the Kirin Tor. When the Sunwell was defiled, he was studying magic in Dalaran. He returned to find his homeland in ruins and most of his people dead. He realized that the surviving high elves were all suffering from the same lethargy, which had been brought on by their loss of magic. Determined to salvage what he could, Kael’thas rallied the survivors and renamed them the sin’dorei, or "blood elves", in honor of those who had fallen to the Scourge.

Thirsting for vengeance, Prince Kael’thas and the healthiest of his warriors immediately joined the campaign against the Scourge in Lordaeron while Lor’themar and a ranger named Halduron Brightwing remained behind to safeguard the land and seek a cure for their people.
In joining the Alliance resistance forces, Kael’thas and his people were met with suspicion and outright hostility, particularly from the prejudiced human Grand Marshal Garithos. Garithos assigned the blood elves increasingly difficult missions until Kael'thas was forced to accept the assistance of Lady Vashj and her naga. When Garithos discovered that the blood elves were working with the naga, he felt that his distrust had been vindicated. He imprisoned the hapless blood elf soldiers in the dungeons of Dalaran and sentenced them to execution.
Fortunately for Kael'thas, Lady Vashj arrived in time to break the prisoners free. She then led them to the portal that Kel'Thuzad had opened during the Third War in order to allow Archimonde entry into Azeroth. Kael'thas and his warriors followed the naga through the portal and into the shattered realm of Outland. There, the elves met the one being capable of putting an end to their painful hunger: the renegade demon, Illidan Stormrage.
Most of Kael'thas' group chose to stay in Outland, but Rommath was sent back to carry a message of hope to those blood elves remaining in Quel’Thalas. Rommath accomplished his mission: relaying tales of a glorious promised land, spreading the teachings of Illidan (teachings which Rommath smoothly attributed to Prince Kael'thas), and planting the notion that Kael'thas might one day return to lead his people to paradise. Rommath has since remained in Quel’Thalas to help rebuild and await the prince’s return.
Months later, the traitor Dar’Khan – now a powerful agent of the Scourge – returned to Quel’Thalas. There he battled the avatar of the Sunwell, Anveena, and a band of heroes aided by blue dragons. Despite the magics he wielded, Dar’Khan was destroyed in the end. Under the watchful protection of Lor’themar and Halduron, Anveena has decided to stay in the ruined city and begin the process of renewal.

Only a handful of individuals know that Anveena is actually the avatar of the Sunwell’s power. Lor’themar and his people keep this secret tightly guarded.
Meanwhile, Rommath and the new order of elven magi made great progress in tutoring their brethren to manipulate arcane energies. Soon the spires of Silvermoon rose skyward once again, powered by volatile magics. The blood elves have even begun retaking portions of Eversong Forest. Emboldened by the promise of Kael’thas' return, the prince’s weary people now focus on regaining their strength and forging a new path into an uncertain future.
