Have you ever wondered what is the difference between grilling something, roasting it and toasting it?

As far as my culinary knowledge goes I believe roasting is slower than grilling, which means that you can cook larger cuts of meat without burning them. Toasting is just applying heat to the surface of food to simply brown the surface, similar to searing.
