I remember following the first battle royale till the guys computer couldn't handle it anymore and also the first subreddit one where Poland was destroying Europe. Is this the second or third official battle royale?

It's the Mark 2

It seems way more stable then Mark 1, they have even installed some more mods.
It is believed one of the custom CIV mod was the source for the crashes, the current custom once in the game is stable so far.

Current it's Part 39 (Audio Narrative + youtube slideshow exist), Part 40 should be out tomorrow.

Currently, the largest war ever seen is going on, Australia (one of the top 5) vs. Kimberly (Top 7 ish I think) and Vietnam (also high up).

Seen one of them on the Crusader Kings subreddit, it was a gif of the borders sped up over the full total of the game.

I guess the advantage to do it in Civilization is the fact you can see the units fight, instead of a single dude that represent an army stand and punch the air in a zone.
