Daxran

Name: Daxran Warstep

Class: Warrior

Level: 30 (Climbing very fast)

Tell us something about your (role)playing experience:

I have been role playing on and off for about 8/9 years now starting in 2006 on Steamwheedle Cartel and then moving to Argent Dawn around 2011. I have mostly role played on Alliance side and other than being involved with the Hand of Agony a few years back have not experienced a lot of Horde RP, however I am hungry to be taught and learn more plus make new friends on Horde side.

And finally, please write a short story and/or IC introduction about your character:

"Never stay down!" the words of his clan had been instilled into Daxran at a young age, proving early in life to be a resilient boy he would often tumble from heights whilst hunting or strike himself with the hammer when learning to forge weaponry only to shake off the pain and continue. All of this culminating when a wild Zhevra charged him down one day when he was hunting with the clan, slamming into the barren ground the rest of them watched only to see the young orc rise to his feet and shakily walk onward through pride and biting determination. This action garnered the respect of his clans elders, setting him on the path to being a fighter.

He spent the following years on his way to maturity training every day with the warriors of his clan, learning how to wield a variety of weaponry and move in thick plating to the best of his abilities. A particularly grueling test was where the elders would line up the young fighters and hurl rocks and blunt instruments at them to see how much they could endure before going down, Daxran seemed to relish this wanting to push himself further than his other clansmen, making sure he was always the last one standing. On the day he came of age a final test lay before him, to tangle one on one with a Crocolisk and bring a tooth back to the elders, he made his way to the beast with the clan not far behind him, leaping on top of it to wrap an arm around its neck, holding on whilst it thrashed to steadily choke it out with his own force.

Making quick work of this trial a sudden horn was heard on the ridge, a band of twenty Quillboar came rushing down towards him, as his clan was alerted they made their way to him to be greeted with Daxran curling his lip and walking towards the army of Quillboar, not rushing but taking his time, seeming to relish this chance to truly test how much he could take. Within moments they were upon him, raining blow after blow with clubs and stone weaponry, Daxran roared being cut as his armour became increasingly dented, pummeling his fists into any that came near him before being overwhelmed and brought to the ground. However this act had bought enough time for the rest of his clan to charge in and make short work of the Quillboar before they could finish him off, laying there bruised and bloody an elder reached down to take his hand, nodding he shakily stood once more as he hushed out "Never stay down.". From that point onward he was awarded the surname "Warstep" embracing battle and striding to always face it head on.

Now a young adult a wanderlust burns in his heart, wanting to test himself and push further than any of his clansmen before him he has parted from them. Hearing tales of the Orcs of the Red Blade he seeks them out, hoping to truly test himself and prove his worth, carving his own destiny to become unbreakable.

Howdy Daxran, and thanks for applying! I've given your application a read-through, and on the whole, it's quite good stuff. There's a strong orcish flavour to your story, and you do write well! Obviously you're someone with a lot of RP experience, so I can see you fitting in quite quickly.

Two notes, which are not 'errors' with your application, but more things to keep in mind, if you haven't already considered them:

Firstly, while it's fine for your character to have spent his adolescence in the Barrens, dependent on his exact age, he may also have memories prior to the foundation of Durotar, when the orcs were interred in the human internment camps. The orcish race has only been on Kalimdor for the last 10-15 years (dependent on your interpretation of the timeline), and so it may be worth considering Daxran's backstory beyond that.

Secondly is the matter of Daxran and his clan. I'm assuming from the story that the clan described are a smaller grouping rather than one of the larger canonical clans. Of the latter, only the Warsongs and Frostwolves appear to have retained any semblance of clan structure post Kalimdor settlement -- they evaded capture, while many of the other clans were jumbled and held apart in the camps, losing their traditions in the process. If it's a smaller non-canonical clan that somehow weathered the camps or formed afterwards, that is less of an issue, of course.

With that said, those are undoubtedly minor issues, though I would keep them in mind. Consider this application approved! The next step is to poke a relevant officer or senior member to grab your in-character introduction, so we can give Daxran an opportunity to seek out the Red Blades! Our current RP focus is in Tanaan Jungle, and though we're leaving in around a week's time, we can arrange any OOC summons so you can attend your introduction and any casual RP in the meantime.

You can find a list of these officers and senior members here:

Best of luck and... for the Blood of the Tribe~!

Daxran

Thank you so much for the response! Like I said I am very new to Horde side so all of this info and helping me piece together my backstory is greatly appreciated. I will be reading through more Orc lore in the coming days. I will poke an officer or senior to request an introduction, thanks again!
