On the more or less nonsense department. There is apparently a gene therapy method of treating brain cancer with very high success rate, invented in Finland!

We want approval and such to be very rigorous even if that takes time and people who maybe could be saved die in the meantime. Since if in actuality that treatment only has a 5% success rate and a 10% chance of making shit worse. It's ... yeah, not that great.

And off course its good that such things are rigorously tested, but its still a shame. Mainly because it was originally trumped because EU would not give the permission for further human testing. Only on the grounds that it was gene-therapy. And now that someone else has gotten gene-therapy forward, they got permissions to test.

And I mean it was denied the testing rights in like...90's? And only recently got forward. Their method or treatment itself hasn't changed.

So yes, I say its a shame.
