Appearance:
Skagluk wore the same beard and top-knot as his great grandfather Githya. Heavy-set and muscular, he favoured bulkier armor than his brother Hukraz. Skagluk would often wield a polearm with runes of good fortune inscribed upon it.

Personality:
Skagluk valued both strength and honor, and approved of much of his brother Hukraz's skirmishing. A natural leader of orcs, he was learnt keenly from tales of both Githya and Kraag's exploits. It does not appear he was envious of his elder brother's rule as Chieftain and Wolfking.

History:
Skagluk the Giantkiller was raised alongside his brother Hukraz in the reign of Kraagash, learning how to fight and serve his Clan. He was a trusted advisor and battle-leader once Hukraz ascended to the mantle of Chieftain, and fought many battles on his behalf.

When Clan Redblade's numbers began to dwindle due to warfare and a lack of females, many of its orcs began to journey to other lands in search of wives. Soon, the time came for Skagluk to take this journey. He travelled far to the east, until he came to a sheltered valley where there lived a Clan of talbuk riding orcs. The Talbuk Riders were fighting a desperate war against the giants of the mountains, the gronn. Every day, many of them fell and things looked bleak for them.

Skagluk had learned many of the tactics of his warrior grandfather Kraag the Wolfking, and he came to the Talbuk Riders’ aid. He rallied their fighters, organised them into an army and led them into battle against the giants. The fighting was terrible and bloody. For many days they fought, but in the end the orcs prevailed. Yet the victory was at too great a cost. Most of the Talbuk warriors lay dead and their wives were made widows.

Skagluk led the survivors back to Clan Redblade’s lands. The Redblades took the Talbuk women as wives and so the future of the Clan was assured. It is unknown how and when Skagluk passed away, but it would appear he did so before his brother Hukraz, as Grugna Longhand had the mantle of Chieftain passed to her despite being underage.

The tale of Skagluk is often told amongst the Red Blades today as a moral fable illustrating the importance of teamwork and tenacity in the face of overwhelming odds.

Many of Skagluk's battles seem to be unrecorded in the Annals. Whether this is because they were so numerous or because records were lost is unknown.
