Details of my roleplay

I began my roleplay journey on The Venture Co, almost 7 years ago. I have been part of numerous guilds and communities in my time, from Kirin’Tor guilds on Alliance to warlock covens on the Horde. A year ago, I moved here to Defias and set up a guild known as the “Hand of Damnation”, some of you may remember me as Dr. Haluthious Vouten, your friend/enemy. Now that I have time again, and I am no longer leading my guild – I thought I would give a go at Orc roleplay. I have found some amazing roleplayers in this guild and I look to furthering my experiences with the quality roleplayers this guild seems to house.

Character: Vorgrenar

Occupation: Tactician/Engineer – Rebellion informer, former Kor'Kron.

Level: 88

The Curse of War

“War...”

The wind shifted uneasily, lifting up the sand of the red earth. The particles were lifted skywards, swirling effortlessly into the turmoil of the coming storm. The unyielding apricity of the sun was finally tamed by the darkened cloud obscuring the horizon. With a dull crack a thunder the storm took full flight, sending a crash of lightening through the sky. Despite the best efforts of the raging elements, they could not hide what had transpired. They could not hide the pained scars of war that now tattooed the land. In the midst of this walked an aberrant figure - Into the fray of the storm.

“Honour…”

The Orc snarled, continuing on his path. He brought his cape over his face, in a bid to shield himself from the invasion of wind and rain, to no avail. The might of the wind had intensified, the Orc was buffed by the wind, sending him stumbling into the undergrowth. With another vexed snarl the orc shielded his gaze and lowered himself to the ground – waiting for the wind to cease.

While the elements fought in the sky, an eternity seemed to pass. Slowly, the orc opened his eyes onto an abominable vision, yet it was the vision he sought. The remains of the Kor’Kron and all their trappings lay before him; siege machines in disarray, flags, banners and of course corpses of fallen Kor’Kron.

“Brothers.”

The rain had not dampened the smell of death, nor had it washed away the unmistakeable crimson red of blood. They clung to the earth with a chthonic will.  The Orc greeted these sights of war with only a strong conviction, but guilt slowly began to crease its way onto this falsehood. Guilt seemed to undress this orc, stripping him of his attire, his name and purpose by the deathly gazes of the Kor’Kron corpses.

“Your… Your deaths were honourable. But the cause… The Cause. We were all deluded. Our cause was false” Mouthed the Orc.

Slumping to his knees, the final facades of strength came away, leaving behind another broken Kor’Kron on the blood stained earth – What started out as meagre whimpers grew to horrified howls and shrieks of anguish. All spiralling skywards to fuel the turmoil of the storm.

“My betrayal… was for the good of all Orcs, Kor’Kron! In your life you saw me as a brother! Your Brother! Yet now I say to you! I was not! I WAS NOT!.”

“I was a betrayer. I aided your debacle.” Rasped the sorrowful Orc.

The Orc push himself to a sitting position, so he could face his accusers, the damned Kor’Kron corpses. They silently watched him, with their stares cemented in death.

“I betrayed the Kor’Kron, which was empirically correct. Yet, I betrayed you, my friends, my brothers, which is empirically wrong.”

The corpses simply stared, the memories of their life and the core of the persona had been washed away by the blows that killed them. Yet the mortal shrines lingered, rotting on the land. A curse to the Orc who betrayed them.

“All brothers should die with blades in hand and all should be tamed by the art of war, together. Yet I stand and you lie in your graves.”

It was with these words, that the Orc turned suddenly. The memories of his betrayal flooding back to him. How he a siege master released information to the resistance. How this information set in motion a causation that lead to the demise of his troops, his men, his brothers. All for what was correct – to oust the corrupt Garrosh. Yet, the art of war is disingenuous. Morals told the Orc what he did was correct and just – Yet, to not be purge with your men to whose loyalties lay firmly within you, was none other than a trespass.

“You knew me as a member of a proud warrior family. A proud Orc should be rotting on the ground with you, my brothers. By your bones and corpses, I allow you to strip me of my honour – it is all I may do in repentance, Brothers.”

“Lok-Tar Ogar, victory or death.” The Orc look over the corpses, stricken with grief.

“I gained no Lok-Tar Ogar.”

With these words, the Orc turned. He did not choose the glance back. Not even to glance back at who he was or what he was, instead he walked undeterred by his pain, not with strength but with repentance. For it was time to start again. It was a time to re-evaluate his life. To make it simpler, yes a simpler life. To walk with the ancestors – this was his new cause.

To be part of the tribe.

Kozgugore

'Haluthious', eh? I understand that name has left a mark on some orcs! One way or another, even if it didn't, this is a most excellent application indeed! I think it's fairly safe to say that we'd be willing to give you a shot in-game, considering this compelling introduction to your interesting character! Go on ahead and contact any officer in-game to arrange your IC interview!
