My only point of criticism darling is I can barely read that writing xD But that could just be my crappy eyes, so unless somebody else points it out; take it as that!

I could argue though your prices are too low. Your work has increased tenfold in the last few months (Seriously, the jump since I did my last comparison has been astounding.) From a genuine business point of view I personally think you're worth more and i'm not saying that because you're my friend. See how it goes I guess, but I reckon after a while you'll be able to jack the prices up. Keep a tab of how long each piece takes you to a pretty exact timeframe, that way you can work out an "Hourly rate". This technically is a skill, and if you're only being paid 10 Euro an hour for it well .. I earn more than that cutting grass darling and a monkey can do my job.

Rhonya

Haha I can read it pretty well myself, but noted, thanks! And yeah, I'm trying this out with the prices. If it goes well, I can always put them up. Try out! And your job just earns you a lot then lol. 10 euro here is minimum wage for someone my age and that very often happens here with jobs that they just don't offer more xD Sadly can't really compare drawing prices to work anyway, I spend some 8-10 hours on these, no one is gonna pay 100 euro for a portrait ;) But thanks for the feedback, we'll see how it goes! I got two slots of the 4 filled so far.

I could argue back and forth that the entire mindset towards art is so cheap, people expect to get a great drawing for peanuts because "Oh its on a tablet." It still requires time. It's a craft, it's a skill. Personally? Why shouldn't you charge your portraits at 100 euros? I'll put it into perspective just how skewered the art trade has become I fear.

Lets say 9 hours to do a piece of that standard.
At 35 euro thats 3.8 euros an hour.
To compare, a painter and decorator of houses (So walls, skirting boards etc) in England here earns around £15 an hour on average. Many earn more. The same timeframe comes to £135 or 170 Euros!

The entire art industry is frankly under threat. People charge way too little for their work; and peoples view on commissions has become completely skewered somewhat. They think its a "Monthly" purchase instead of an actual investment. Time was art was appreciated as an actual craft and yet now even work of your high caliber (And many of the artists on AD) has to charge much cheaper because clients have almost forced it that way over the years.

You could not support yourself via art; which is a shame because you are GOOD enough to be able to. The fact a supermarket till person will earn more than artists like you that charge similar prices upsets me.

Looks really good Rhonya!
Perhaps Rhonya you´ll cut alot of time because of moar XP with photoshop etc. I wanted to do comics, but sketching the models from basic shapes etc took so long. After a lot of mindless doodling I found out that I sketched an entire page in a tenth of the time it took me once.
So don´t worry about it. You´ll become even better and faster every time you finish a work of art. Plus those future portraits might easily go for 60 or 80 euros, who knows?

Whur R all my pages then? OK I might be suffering from lazinus maximus ^^

Ive been secretly playing twilight princess, shush dont tell anyone:P

Rhonya

Yeah, I'll probably get faster the more I draw too, especially with these portraits now, getting a lot of practise! Opened up the commissions in between of working on Krogons piece, finished the first one!

You shall all be bombared by nelves, humans and belves coming time, okaaaay?! xD
