Scorpid Sting

Report

Ironclaw learned of giant scorpion sightings from the locals. This beast had been terrorizing the local populace for a long time now. Deciding it was enough, the Nag’ogar took action and set up a hunting party.

The hunting party consisted of Kargnar Bloodpaw, Nosh’marak Ironclaw, Rashka Facebreaker, Okram Graywolf, Arkail Blastblade, and Kogra Windwatcher.

Not far into their expedition the pack discovered a battle going on between the beast from the reports and a group of bandits. With the arrival of the pack, the beast skittered away, taunting them as he left. Having lost the majority of their group, the bandits decided to go for “easier” prey. The fools.

A battle ensued between the two parties and the tribe quickly got the upper hand as the bandits dropped one after another. They were no match for the might of the pack.

After a moment of catching their breath, the pack pursued the hellish beast, trailing it back to its nest. There the beast was found and engaged, but it was not alone. Its first action was to shower us with its spawn. As it showered us with its brood, the pack attacked, dealing blows to the beast but the majority was mitigated by the thick carapace.

It repositioned itself and struck Blastblade with its stinger and injected him with its venom. Luckily, Blastblade managed to shrug of the majority of the venom. He was noted to be significantly slower afterwards though. The tribe retaliated and struck the beast again, but the natural defense of the creature was just too strong.

More tiny scorpions erupted from the nest below, skittering onto the orcs and bit, clawed, or stabbed the orcs if they were not too careful. Graywolf managed to harness the power of the wind and create a gust of wind strong enough to momentarily clear the area of the swarming menace. This gust also left the giant scorpion reeling, exposing its unprotected underside, and creating a chance for Ironclaw to strike.

After the beast fell to the well-aimed blow of Ironclaw, the sound of skittering became noticeable again. Ten, nay, twenty medium sized scorpions formed a front and were charging right at the pack. This was the moment they decided to retreat. Facebreaker threw a bomb of sorts at the group, leaving a momentary distraction for the orcs to retreat.
The pack returned to Ramkahen to lick their wounds and resuming their previous tasks.
