Grek'var, the Orphan

Grekvar

OOC:
- name: Grekvar
- class: Shaman
- level: 93 (working on it)
- rp experience: Been an RP'er on AD for 3-4 years now. I've mainly roleplayed on the Alliance side ever since I started. I've been part of guilds, mainly as a member. I've also served as a junior/senior officer, twice in guilds that were highly regarded at the time.

IC:
Outcast. Unwanted. Useless. Grek'var boasts several similar titles, including... the Oprhan. Without any family and without any friends, the young orc has been on the move ever since he was thrown out into this wretched world. Unwanted and often chased away by most others, he found comfort in being on the road. Nobody knows what or who he is, perhaps this is why he's been kept at a distance, in fear of the unknown. Always looked upon with skeptical eyes, any attempts made by him at breaking these false chains of distrust are futile, and now, after having recently been thrown out and told to never set foot inside what was his last place of work and home, the Inn of Razor Hill, Grek'var is considering his last options...

Hey Grekvar!

Welcome to the forums! :D I've taken a looksy at your app, and while it is a little short, in this case that doesn't matter much. I've seen you RP yesterday and if your story is that you'd rather keep it unknown for now where Grekvar comes from, that's fine. However, keep in mind it'd might be wise to know a little about the orc lore and the timeline for the orcs as such in case that does come to pass icly!

I'll accept this application. Feel free to contact any name on these lists, be that officer or senior member! http://orcsoftheredblade.com/forum/index.php?topic=2440.0
If someone if available, we'll do a short little IC interview with your character and get him into the tribe. It might be a little busy today because of the tourny tonight, which you're aware of, so perhaps maybe today is not the best option for that, but who knows, maybe you'll run into someone who does has have some time and isn't spammed too much. ;)
Otherwise you're still free of course to come RP with us while waiting for a good opportunity for your interview!

Hope to see you soon ingame!

I have a request to make, if possible. As much as I agree with the traditional IC interview, the way of doing it does not, in my opinion, make any sense IC- wise for my character. Grek'var, as said, is an Orphan who has been chased away by everyone ever since he was born. After the recent event where he was thrown out and is now without a home and a job, Grek'var had plans of joining the tournament in hopes of dying; a way of bringing an end to his miserable life. He chickened out at the last moment though.

Is there a possibility perhaps for the "IC interview" part to happen as a follow up to the story that I've roleplayed with Grek'var up to now? For instance.. you guys bump into him some place where he is about to end his life. At this point, depending on how it goes, Grek'var could be "saved" by the Orcs of the Red Blade, or he could be left alone to eventually end himself. It makes much more sense if you guys came as a salvation for him, putting him back on track and injecting some purpose into his life. It also opens many other doors for future roleplay on this character of mine. I'm certain, or at least I hope that there is a way of doing it like this, that what usually happens during a traditional IC interview can also be added into this so that it may cover all aspects of recruitment but also make some sense IC- wise for Grek'var, if you understand.

Sorry for the long post and for being "needy", but I truly hope that you guys manage to understand what I'm spamming about.  :)

Hello again Grek'var!

A thing I can advise possibly is just come RP with us if you don't want the standard interview thing. It's something I did ICly as well with my own character many years ago, I bumped into the tribe on accident and that lead to a lot of other things.
We usually don't really script things down, unless you can arrange something with one of our events, but then it's better to poke either Therak/Gridish/Sadok ingame and discuss it there, seeing they organise most of our events.

And an IC interview is merely getting to know your character a little, and get him into the tribe as such with the rules explained and agreed to. It's nothing very big or such, it's simply a talk between your character and some of the orcs. So that can be done at any time.
