Name: Gorback Earthcaller
Class: Shaman
Level: 93

Previous roleplaying experience:
Was a member of ORB for a long time, but very long time ago. I admitt I wasn't the best RPer, but I did my character mild justice at least ;) I was also a member of the Sixty Thieves for some time, most notorious for the arson at the Orgrimmar Orphanage and getting hunted down and brought to justice by Kei. Haven't RPed for well over two years now I think, but with the new orccentric expansion I couldn't help myself.

And for the wonderfull background story:

Born into the Blackrock Clan during the reign of the Shadow Council on Draenor, Gorback followed in the footsteps of his father, Karikk Shieldbearer, and trained under his supervision to be a warrior. Although Gorback was too young to fight the Draenei in the big glorious battles, he did join in the raiding of other, weaker orc clans while the Dark Portal was built. By the time it was completed, Gorback no longer was a pup. He came through the portal with the rest of the Legion, fighting in many of the battles that raged before the orcs were defeated. As was the case with many of the survivors, Gorback was sent into the camps.

Years later, when Thrall freed the orcs from the demonic curse, Gorback was back in the fight. This time against the orcs’ previous masters, the Burning Legion. During the final battle for Mount Hyjal Gorback was struck by a poisoned demon blade, knocking him out of the fight. Plagued with fever and hallucinations, Gorback was in the care of the shamans for a long time. It was during this time he started to hear the Spirits. The elements whispering to him, his ancestors trying to guide him back to life. After several months, Gorback awoke again.

Thanking the shamans for their help, Gorback could not help but remember the strange dreams about the elements and ancestors. He seeked council with the same shamans that had cared for him, in the new built city of Orgrimmar. They confirmed his suspicions, it was no ordinary dreams, and it was indeed the spirits that had been talking to him. As Gorback was too young to remember the time of the shamans’ previous glory, he asked the old shaman, Uglûhk, to tell him more. The day turned into night, night into day, days into weeks. By the time the old shaman had told him of their role in orcish society, Gorback knew his next calling. He wanted to help the shamans, and communicate with the spirits just like his ancestors had.

Gorback started as a helper, more of an assistant than anything else. As time went by, he soon started to learn how to talk more and more with the elements. And as the dark portal opened again, after many years of relative peace, Gorback took up arms again. Although he did bring his old axe with him, an ancient big blade, this time he used the elements as his weapon.

Gorback fought for the Horde, for his Warchief, for many years. From the cold wastes of Northrend to the chasms of the Barrens, Gorback earned many glories against countless foes. When the dark portal once more was opened and the Iron Horde attacked Azeroth from beyond time, Gorback asked to be in the vanguard. To be the first to see his old homelands once more. As fate would have it, Gorback was posted to Warspear on the island of Ashran. And it was there that he heard of the Red Blade Tribe for the first time…

Howdy there, Uglûhk! Thought your application was on the whole just fine, and it's always great to see more shaman about! Especially an older figure who has found the path of the spirits the hard way, as Gorback has!

With that said, there's one slight thing I'd perhaps change -- Warspear's existence (along with those of some of the other Horde outposts) this early in the WoD expansion pack isn't certain, with the Battle for the Dark Portal occuring mere days or weeks ago. For less friction, it may well be that Gorback fought in the battle and escaped with some of the other Horde refugees bound for Frostfire Ridge -- that would certainly bring you into contact with the Red Blade tribe quite easily.

All the same, that's admittedly a nitpick, and your application is otherwise great. So consider this accepted, and poke an officer in-game for your in-character interview, so we can give Gorback an opportunity to introduce himself to the Red Blade tribe!

Officers are Rargnasha, Kozgugore, Rhonya, Therak and myself. Best of luck!

Ah, didn't know that Warspear wasn't built ICly yet. Cheers for that :D
