Atonement

Kozgugore

The thick air of the marsh mixed with that of burnt herbs and flesh slowly wafted into Kozgugore’s nose as he came back to his senses. He felt different, yet there he still sat like he did hours ago, still in the same battle armour stained with dried blood and gore from the latest battle. Once again, nor ancestor nor spirit had answered his call for guidance. Not since his teenage orc days on Draenor had he ever heard a single ancestor’s voice lending him guidance. Even after his biggest defeat at Theramore, he stands alone in the decisions of both his and his tribe’s fate.

Theramore, the human port on orcish lands, did not burn like it was supposed to. Only after a long, bloody battle did the rallied Horde forces manage to break through into the harbour and take some carnage along with them before being pushed back either into the sea or back to Brackenwall Village. Kozgugore’s biggest anticipated attack resulted into the biggest failure he had seen since his career as an elder of the Red Blade tribe. Long did he prepare the attack into the details and recieved aid aplenty despite Warchief Thrall’s uneasy truce with Jaina Proudmoore. This proved to be insufficient, however, as the Horde found the Alliance completely prepared and battle-ready.

And now, as most of the Horde’s remaining forces have already left, it falls to Kozgugore to justify himself in front of Thrall. He knew what would await him. A trail that would most likely result in either exile or death. He disobeyed the Warchief’s wishes by breaking the truce â€" by doing that what any true father would do â€" and will now have to pay the price.

However, he will never return to Orgrimmar to face his Warchief’s vengeance for doing what was the only proper thing for an orc to do. No one will ever know the only true reason he wished to attack Theramore was in retribution to his murdered bastard son. No traitor’s death for this orc. He picked up his axe and slowly walked back towards Theramore again, leaving nothing but a steaming bowl of hot water and some leftover herbs at the site.

Because orcs are green..Doesn't mean they can do photosynthesis..Or can they?
