Nazrog

Name: Nazrog Hellcaller
Class: Warlock
Level: 60

Tell us something about your (role)playing experience: I would say I have extensive roleplaying experience. I started rp’ing back in 2011 on Defias Brotherhood and since then it’s become a huge hobby of mine, both in and out of game! I was an officer in the Second Gurubashi Empire and as a result I know a couple of people in the Red Blades already, which is why I decided to join and see what all the fuss is about! I also consider myself quite knowledgeable about the lore of the Orcs as well as that of WoW in general, which lends itself nicely to rp.

And finally please write a short story and/or IC introduction about your character:

Overview:
(I’ve written a full story to explain my character’s history, but as I know it’s quite long, here’s a summary! I will complete the long version and upload it to the forum if/when I’m accepted.)

Nazrog Hellcaller was raised by his father, the powerful warlock Morkosh Blightskull, outside of the Orcish Clan structure and the Horde, within the nefarious, sinister cults of the Burning Legion. As such, they travelled across the world, meeting with other agents of the Legion and rarely settling anywhere. This, along with charms and blood-rites which bound him to his father, caused Nazrog to become accustomed to the belief that he was different from others and had no place in Orcish society.
Over time, his father taught him how to bend the element of fire to his will, to force it to do his bidding, in a corruption of shamanistic teachings, and as such, Nazrog is a powerful Pyromancer, but is fuelled by his hate and pain, rather than the balance which drives a true Shaman.
He always despised his father, but was both physically and mentally bound to Morkosh and therefore unable to escape his clutches, or refuse his orders. He was however strong enough to deny Morkosh full control over his mind and therefore resisted his father’s attempts to mould him into a lieutenant and a willing servant of the Burning Legion. Instead, Morkosh chose to turn his son into a powerful weapon, which he used to hunt down his most dangerous and hated foes.
Eventually this led to Morkosh sending Nazrog on a hunt. He was tasked with killing four ex-cultists who had served directly under Morkosh, but had betrayed him in order to start new, peaceful lives. He had no problem killing the first three, as murder had become one of the few available outlets for his pain and rage.
However, the fourth and final victim was to be different. She was a hermit who had made peace with the elements and ancestors, and lived a solitary life as a healer in the Barrens. Though Nazrog dealt with her as he did his previous victims, their confrontation was to change his life forever. As she was dying, the healer used her last vestiges of strength not to fight Nazrog, but to bless him in an attempt to free his mind from the power of his father.
It worked, and confronted by the evil he had done, and the monumental act of selflessness and benevolence directed upon him, Nazrog vowed to kill his father, and swore himself to be an enemy of the Legion.
Returning to his father’s holdfast, for by this time Morkosh had become very powerful as his rivals, -the Burning Blade- were decimated by the Horde, Nazrog waited for his chance to strike. Entering the fortress with the full intention of murdering his father, even at the cost of his own life, Nazrog allowed himself to be presented to Morkosh, biding his time for a more private moment away from the crowds of acolytes and warriors, when he might have a chance to strike a fatal blow.
Praising his success in killing the four traitors, Morkosh informed Nazrog that he had a final great mission to send him on, one which would secure the future of his clan for years to come. Listening with curiosity as to what could be so important to his normally uncaring father, Nazrog was silently horrified by Morkosh’s command.
Blightskull told Nazrog to seek out a clan of Orcs known as the Red Blade, who had risen within the hierarchy of the Horde due to their fearless deeds and their ceaseless efforts on the frontlines of whatever campaigns and new frontiers the Horde faced.
At first Nazrog was puzzled as to why this would be of importance to his father. Out of all his many enemies, why send him to fight this clan? Morkosh soon elaborated, and it was those words which chilled Nazrog’s heart.
“Amongst this clan there is a female who is known to me. A former apprentice who I took to my bed some years ago. She was with child when she escaped my grasp and I have been informed that this child is now being raised amongst the Red Blade clan, tutored in the lies and falsities of the Horde.”
Pointing a black claw at Nazrog, the warlock continued.
“You will infiltrate the clan, kill the female and return my child to me. You will know her by the name Rhonya, and the child will be her eldest,” he paused. “Return with the child alive, or do not return at all. You have always disappointed me with your belligerence and lack of vision, but this child will make a true heir to my legacy.”
In that instant, all thoughts of murder and retribution fled from Nazrog’s mind to be replaced only with a deep well of dread and fear. Fear not for himself, but for this child who, -if he fell into his father’s clutches- would grow up as Nazrog had, drenched in all the cruelty and pain and anguish he had suffered. What terrible crimes he might commit, what good lives might he cut short?
Then and there, as he took his leave from his father to seek out the Orcs of the Red Blade, Nazrog vowed that he would warn them of the danger they faced, he would find this child, but not to steal it away. He would honour the absolution granted to him by the Healer he had slain, and put all of his rage, his power and his energy into one goal: killing his father and any others who would parlay with the Burning Legion.
