Name: Rashlak Hawkwind
Alias: Dengue
Rank: New Blood

Age: Mid-30s
Gender: Male
Race: Orc
Clan: Unknown
Class: Shaman
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Family: Unknown
Known Friends: Red Blade tribe, Venomhide Ravasaurs.
Known Enemies: Venomhide Ravasaurs.

Appearance:
You might just smell Rashlak before you see him. An earthy, pungent odor of sweat, leather and other unidentified scents seems to follow this orc wherever he goes.

Clad from head to toe in moist, often mouldy leather armor, Rashlak never seems to show his skin. His armor is decorated with various bone-trophies and precious crystals, including two panther skulls on his pauldrons and a hawk-bone headdress over his face.

Personality:
It is said that Rashlak was once an earnest, entirely normal spiritualist who exercised moderation and devoted himself to his craft. No longer, for this orc's shattered mind seems to be warped into a confusing potpourri of broken orcish.

Easily confused by even simple concepts, and seeming to misunderstand basic instructions, Rashlak's warped mind lends him to try and aid his fellow orcs in the ways they least require. Whether it be his inventory of expired foodstuffs or his enthusiasm for sawing off limbs as medical treatment, any remaining goodwill is expressed in an entirely baffling manner.

History:
Trained in secret by a devout shaman within the internment camps, Rashlak had learnt what it meant to act like a spiritualist before the orcs' connection to the elements was even restored. Considered a promising prospect, Rashlak had little time for the Horde and Alliance's conflicts, instead devoting himself to observing the world around him.

Perhaps it was this which sent Rashlak along with the ill-fated Williden Marshal expedition to the unknown land of Un'Goro Crater. After the horrific accident which led to the desertion of their base-camp, Rashlak ended up getting lost within a system of caves he had escaped to.

He reached out to the spirits at first, but then found himself attracted to a different kind of mysticism. Rashlak would become obsessed with the Power Crystals within the cave, and spending aeons staring into their endlessly-refracting prisms, he would begin to lose track of time and finally his mind.

The orc that finally exited that cave was another person entirely. Spurned by nearly everyone he met, Rashlak's path would briefly cross with the Red Blade tribe. He proved deeply unpopular around campfires, and so the extent of his contributions usually came in battle against various enemies large and small.

As suddenly as Rashlak had found the tribe, he was soon gone again, and has not been seen since.

Things you may know about this character:
Between his smell and his personality, Rashlak was unlikely to ever last with the Red Blade tribe without a heavy attitude adjustment.

Rashlak was assaulted by Vashnarz for asking her to feel his sack. A burlap sack in which he kept his salted pork, of course.

Things you may not know about this character:
Rashlak's connection to the elements lingered even in spite of madness, though he rarely mustered enough self-awareness to call upon them.

Memorable Quotes:

  • "What doesn’t kill Dengue make him stronger. Dengue very strong. Dengue nearly die nearly all the times."
  • "Dengue lost train of thought. Dengue never saw train. Only saw toy train. Go in circles. Round and round. Crater go round and round too. One big circle. But no train. Not explored. Ravasaurs don’t build train. Ravasaur arms too small." -- Rashlak confuses himself (and everyone around him).
  • "Dengue hear lots of jokes from ravasaurs. They no talk but they very funny. Their jokes always so snappy! Ha! Funny cause they bit Dengue. Dengue nearly died, yes!" -- Breaking the ice with a 'joke'.
  • "Dengue then found out why they called Venomhide ravasaurs. Cause they have venom on their hide. And they are also ravasaurs. Makes sense, Dengue thinks." - Rashlak's indepth discussion on etymology.
  • "Tried to get out. Couldn’t. Lost in cave. Lost mind. Lost marbles. Lost everything." -- Rashlak describing his entrapment in Un'Goro.
