"Hrrrrm" 1

Revax strapped his leather-chestpiece back on, as he watched Shargla walk away from him, back towards the keep. She was wiggling her booty playfully as she walked, and Revax knew she did it to tease him.

"Hah..."

Revax stayed down by the river for awhile longer, pondering the life that he leads now. Shargla, the tribe..... the war. He was Rrosh-tul now, and he could already feel the burdens of the whole tribe weigh down on him. It was Shargla that kept his spirits up. What would he have done without her? It must have been the spirits that brought them together just at the right time.

"Grom-dammit..."

The burdens were growing in weight. Two orcs had been captured by demons, and Sharptongue was going mad. Revax had been trying for the better part of the week, to slowly but surely attempt to bring the orcs in the tribe closer, more like a family than a tribe. It was hard.

"Bloody shtubborn lot they are..."

But he was not going to stop here. Already Stormaxe, Bearclaw and Marshfang had taken a blood-oath with him. Marzek the old goat, had said something about the unnecessity of such oaths. They were already family by oath to the tribe, taking more oaths would be like saying: "This is my brother and my brother", about the same orc.

"Bearclaw..."

Something strange had happened a few days ago. Revax did not quite know what to think of it. Had Shargla suggested she wanted to take -two- mates? Bearclaw had mentioned he was fond of Shargla, and that he wants Shargla to mother his cub. Revax had said he was okay with that, and he really was. But Bearclaw had denied he wanted more than that...

"Hrrrrm."

Revax was not going to worry about it right now. He trusts both Shargla and Bearclaw with his whole being. He left such thoughts for now and peered up at the keep, grunting.

"Demons."

This is a response to Shargla's latest story that can be read here http://orcsoftheredblade.com/forum/index.php?topic=3264.msg27414;topicseen#new

----------Prelude: Oh Crab!------------

''No... No...! NO! HELLBREW!''

Revax awoke as he heard the scream echo in his head, sitting up startledly. He took a few heavy breaths as he came to his senses.

"Hrrm, jusht a bad dream" Revax sighed in relief.

The reflection of the moon glimmered in the waters glucking against the rocky beach that Revax and Shargla had choosen to sleep on for a few nights.

"Shargla." Revax whispered to himself, and turned to the side where she lay right nex-
Revax's hands fumbled over Shargla empty furs, she wasnt there.

"Shargla? Are you there? Hrrrm. Grom-dammit Shargla, I want cuddlesh!"

No response. Revax bowed his head, and concentrated on channeling his chi to his eyes for a moment. He begun peering from side to side, hoping to catch a glimmer of Shargla's aura. He saw nothing. He was not worried yet, she could just have gone for a stroll or to get something to eat...

"Wait... the shcream..." He lifted his head and his body stiffened. "The shcream washnt a dream, it wash Shargla!"

Revax sprung to his feet and spun around on the spot, not knowing what direction to go, he could not see or hear her, Revax rarely panicked, but if he ever did, now was one of those moments. He felt lost and scared for the first time in many years and just when he was about to burst into panic, he saw it. A circle-shaped glow, a fair few paces down the beach.

"The orb!"

He shouted to himself, and ran towards it, stumpling over a sharp rock that made a deep cut in his foot and making him fall headfirst into the sand. He pushed himself up, coughing up sand at a passerby crab which obviously made it angry and caused it to attack Revax with its pincers. It managed to clasp Revax's ear and Revax let out a pained grunt. Then it spat salty water in his face.

----------Intermission *plays classical music*------------

Revax spat out the crabshell, as he hurriedly finished bandaging his bleeding foot, and continued down the beach towards the glow. He reached out with his hand as he approach it, it seemed as if it was floating mid air. But suddenly his hand touched something. It was Shargla's body, he could tell from her... features. She was clutching the orb tightly in her arms, but she gave no sign of life but her body was warm.

"Grom-damn it Shargla, what did you do?"

Revax pondered the past few days, Shargla had suggested that Revax's eyesight was trapped inside the elemental spirit prison that was the strange orb, and the only way to release the elementals along with his eyesight, was to enter the orb and release them from the inside.

"Why did you go at it alone, you fool! What do I do now? Hrrrrm. I musht find Shteelheart and Moneyfix.... Shargla! Im coming for you, you hear me?!"

Revax peers at the orb with his blind eyes as if expecting a response.

"Hrrrm, stupid old drunk, no time to lose."

Short Uninteresting Story 1: Like a breeze

The starry reflection of Nagrand's nightsky glimmered in the various waters far below and Revax peered down at it, brushing the sweat of off his brow. He panted slightly, not having expected to exert himself like this tonight. He turned his gaze even further down below, where the body of a fat ogre lay crushed against the rockage below. It was clearly dead. A sigh of relief puffed out from Revax's mouth.

"You're getting old, orc... Bah. Hah. Naaaah." Revax scoffed at himself, looking at his bruised knuckles. They didnt usually bruise like this. He dipped them in small water barrel him and Shargla were using to wash themselves, leaning against the wall of the hut.

An ogre had happened to crawl up the cliff, perhaps curious about the smoke from their fire, or just on a filthy ogre adventure, whatever it is they do. Luckily, Shargla had taken Raigoz for a stroll, probably to pick up some Nagrand herbs for her conoctations. This ogre was unusually large, and had almost strangled Revax to death, but the old orc had managed to muster enough chi to shock the ogre into releasing him with crackling lightning, allowing Revax to unleash his full brawling fury on the beast. They had fought for several minutes until Revax found his opportunity to kick the ugly sucker down the cliff, ending its life.

It was a strange feeling. Revax enjoyed a good fight while it lasted, but he never longed to fight anymore. He only cared about Shargla and his son now. And ale of course.

He looked up at one of the moons or planets, whatever it was, his thoughts wandering to the tribe. He had seen them enter Nagrand and he was wondering how they were doing. He couldnt help but let his mouth twist into a grin as he thought back of his challenge with the Chieftain.

"If wonder if you hate me now, young Chieftain. I wonder if my challenge sherved its purposhe... I never wanted to be Chieftain, that washnt why..." Revax lowly muttered to himself. In the perifery he noticed Shargla was returning. She was peering down at the ogre body and raised an eyebrow at Revax. He just shrugged: "Must have slipped."

Shargla smirked and handed over Raigoz to Revax before she walked into the hut with her bag of fresh herbs. Suddenly Revax heard a whisper, he turned his head to look where it came from, he could not understand what it said. He was about to shrug it off when he heard it again, feeling a soft breeze spin around his head. He looked down at Raigoz, and he could swear it seemed as if Raigoz had heard it to.

This was new.

Nagrand Slammer Noir

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Revax knelt down, and reach out with his bulky fist to snap the stem at the middle. The hops were glistening gangsta fresh green. They had grown well since Revax planted them here well over half a year ago. They'd make base ingredient in his next brew, which he so original-like choose to call "Nagrand Slammer".

Suddenly he noticed, on the left side of his little plot of hops, there was a two hop-plants missing. They had been pulled up from the root. Both of them.

"Blashphemy!" He shouted out. He flared his nostrils, as is wolf-like sense of smell caught the disgusting scent. Six fat shadows appeared over the ground around the plot.

"You no take salad, orcy. You die now."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Revax stood leaning against the log; a carved and painted totem. Nagrand's night sky and it's stars were peering down at him, like the wide open leering eyes of an old god-beast. Infront of him, a large bonfire, burning, crackling at the sound of Shargla's spirit dusts, or whatever they were. Revax couldnt keep his eyes of her, she was dancing half-naked, painted in white and with blood. It was enthralling, and it went on for hours, like she there was nothing else in the world going on.

Suddenly, she stopped dancing and walked slowly towards Revax, snarling like a she-wolf. She lept at him, closing her legs around his waste, locking his arms down with her hands, and sank her teeth into his shoulder. He gasped at first, not quite expecting this, but he let her do it. The adrenaline was awesome. Shargla threw her head back, and stuck two fingers into the wound and the blood. Soon Revax was painted in his own blood, similar runes and tattoes like those of Shargla's, and soon he was dancing with her. He could here the air whisper in his ears. Both of them.
Soon, everything went red.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

They ran after it, like feral beasts do, hungry, thirsty, inevitably. It let out a few desperate noises, as if calling for help, but it's weak and exhausted voice dissapeared in the wind. It new it was going to die, but the spirit of the wild told it to keep running. It was its destiny to be chased across the plains. It was its destiny to help the orcs prove they were wolf-kin. Both of them.

Revax snarled, he wished for nothing more than to dig his fangs and claws into the beast, to end it, to eat it and to smear its blood all over Shargla's face as she did it to him. Shargla. Where is she?
Revax peered around as he kept at the heels of the beast. He couldnt see her.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raigoz was suckling the clefthoof shaped bonepiece like there was no tomorrow. Revax couldnt help but cackle at him, before he had another sip of his ale. Damn it was good ale. Aint no one could deny that. He kept looking at Raigoz as he drank the ale. Wondering what kind of orc his son would grow up to be. A shaman? A brawler? A drunkard? A Warchief? All of them he hoped, and smirked to himself.

He turned his eyes to Shargla, who was sitting on the cliff near watching over the camp. Her eyes a kind of hollow, distant, distraught. Revax sighed and smiled despite Shargla's poor state. He loved them. Both of them.
