The blazing sun was raging down, the winds were strong and the sands acted as razor sharp blades, all torturing the desert. Yet, in the middle of this a few abnormal creatures reside, despite all odds. There were three beasts deemed to be the most powerful of them all, standing victorious over any other. The first were the cruel scorpions, vicious beasts that tear their victims apart with claws while stinging them viciously with their poisonus broods, sending them to certain death. The second were the crocolisks, enormus beasts of the waters that sneak upon their victims from below the surface of the water, leaping upon their unknowing prey with a row of fangs powerful enough to tear off entire limbs within mere seconds. The third were the enormus water snakes, gigantic beasts of the river that pull their foes under water and so drown them while crushing every single bone in their bodies.

These were the beasts that Gor'Thrak Frosthowl set out to slay, to complete a task on his path to redemption. First he set out to slay the scorpid, having been told by a local Tol'vir that one at the size of a huge bear resided in a cave to the north. Opening a portal to the shadow realm he summoned his undead worg, and after riding for nearly half an hour he could see the cave. He led his worg into a new portal before approaching the cave, blade in hand. Sand covered most of the cave, and as he had to dig his way through a sand dune that nearly reached the roof the sands behind him started to sink. Slowly the scorpid appeared, trying to sneak upon him unnoticed. However, with the aid of his unholy powers he smelled the life energy of the scorpid, and with a swift swing of his frost empowered soulblade he severed the scorpid's left claw from it's arm upon turning around, taking it by surprise. The scorpid squeeled in horrific pain, not only having it's claw removed but also having a part of it's soul obliterated by the soulblade. It swiftly grabbed his soulblade with the remaining claw, desperately trying to rip it out of the Death Knight's hands to throw it away. But with the aid of his unholy strength he held the soulblade firmly while sending several kicks to the scorpid's face with his heel, crushing it's eyes. Once again it squeeled in pain, crawling backwards while over and over again trying to bring it's brood down upon him, however having a horrible aim due to being blinded. Gor'Thrak ducked away from the scorpid's first attempt before rolling forwards, trying to get closer. Suddenly the brood hit him, just between the neck and his shoulder, perfect. He quickly took a hold of the scorpid just below the brood with a wrestling grip, while at the same time repeatedly swinging his blade after it, trying to severe it from the scorpid's body. After numerous attempts he finally managed it and with now only the last claw to worry about he charged forth with the runeblade in both hands. Ducking away from the scorpid's hopeless attempt to hit him with it's claw he let out a loud roar before the tip of his blade connected with the scorpid's forehead. It pierced straight through the scorpid's thick shield, causing blood and gore to sprout everywhere as it started shaking violently before falling to the ground, dead. He raised a hand towards the broken off brood and necrotic energies shot out, turning it into dust before being drawn to him. He stored it within a pouch at his waist before walking out of the cave, victorious.

He did not wait to recover or heal, there's no rest for the unliving. Determined on completing his task he followed the river southwards, scouting around for a crocolisk worthy a Berserker. Eventually he could see one resting on the riverbank, nearly 20 feet long. Upon seeing him approach it quickly dived into the water, it was in it's element, that's where it ruled. He slowly walked out into shallow water, holding his soulblade in a high stance, ready to strike. It leapt out from the water and onto him from the left. Quickly he let frost and necrotic energies flow through the blade, swinging it into the side of the crocolisk just before it's jaws took a hold around his right leg. Even though considerable damage had been dealt to the beast it started rolling around, trying to tear his leg off, confident in the water. This should prove to be a fatal mistake on the crocolisk's side as the Death Knight channeled frost energies through the water, turning all the water around them into one huge block of ice, trapping them both. That was when he started channeling unholy magic through his entire body, absorbing the ice around him and turning it into raw runic power while slowly floating out of the ice. Once getting out of the ice he made his way out on it until he could see the crocolisk cleary, frozen beneath the surface. His blade shone brightly with an ice blue tone before being thrusted into the ice, tearing it all apart along with the crocolisk. Continuing to channel energies the crocolisk was turned into ashes before being drawn to him, stored in a pouch at his waist, just next to the first one. Two down, one to go.

In search of a last beast to slay he followed the river for long, trying to sniff out a suitable opponent. Then suddenly, there it was, and not long after he noticed it he could feel it grasp around his feet and pull him under the surface. He swung his runeblade after it, trying to hack himself loose. After three strikes the end of it's tail was severed and fell to the deeps. As he looked around the beast appeared to be gone and he snorted, but as he looked up to the surface he could see the monster quickly making it's way towards him. He channeled dark energies with hands before sending it through the blade, and finally lunging it towards the water snake in the form of a skull in the middle of a dark green, toxic cloud. As quick as it was the beast swiftly ducked away, and as it seemed to be coming for his throat the death coil hit it further down it's long body, near the end, and struck through it like a shockwave, paralyzing the beast. Taking the advantage of the situation he thrusted his blade forth and into it's throat before piercing the head of the beast from the inside. He reached out a hand towards a tree that he could see hanging above the surface as he continued to sink, sending out a blast of dark necrotic energies that shortly afterwards changed into the form of a hand. It took an iron grip around the tree and quickly pulled Gor'Thrak up and out of the water together with the beast that was still hanging onto his blade by the head. As the tree broke from all the weight he twisted the winds, filling them with frost and ice before making them sweep over the waters, freezing the surface completely. He did the same to this beast as with the others, turning it into ashes before taking it all in a pouch at his waist. His task was completed and now he set back to the camp.

Upon arriving back at the camp he opened all the pouches and let the contains fall out. Upon him raising a hand just over all the ashes necrotic energies started to crackle before shooting out towards the remains of the three beasts, reanimating them, although not turning them living again, as proof of his success.
