The Campfire / Letter to the tribe
August 24, 2008, 01:21:33 PM
Members of the tribe, I have decided I wish to explore our world and I got this opportunity by a troll whom offered me a service as a Bodyguard of hers. I hope you won't hold any major grudges against me as I wish for you to still be able to call me a friend and tribesman.

I wish you well in all battles you will face.

- Hal'nok Drumfist

(( Ok, yes unfortunately I'm leaving again. I've just felt that Orc RP is a bit dull for me now, will still continue to RP with Keli (the troll) walking around in Winterspring and whatnot if you wish to find me. I hope you all will have a nice time here in ORB as I had and i hope we'll all stay friends like i mentioned.

Yea well, most of all, Good luck with everything and I'll try to pop by W-PvP events. ))

I feel the same as Kozzie here. I was interested in the start, but as I kinda saw more 'n more of it I got less interested. Firstly, the graphics aren't particularly good (WoW graphics isn't top quality but hear my reasons) beacuse I just can't see how the Characters look a part of the world, they look a bit like they were copy-pasted into via Photoshop or something imo. WoW doesn't really have amazing graphics but the style of it makes me able to say "f' AoC this is nice looking" in the sense of how the world and enviroment and the characters all fit together.

And oh well, on the cinematics I liked the WotLK one alot more, the Cinematic is about making you eagerly slam your keyboard in anticipation of the game, and the WotLK cinematic is just... Amazing, it even made one of my friend who quit WoW some months back wanna get into WoW again like crazy, simply due to the cinematic.

On the Warhammer cinematic, they just took the road most people do for Trailers, ACTION! There wasn't anything captivating about it I think...

Oh well, personal opinions lol!

Their cinematics look great. Would love to see a movie in that style myself. But that would probably take a looong time to complete.

You do know that they are working on a Warcraft/WoW movie that's supposedly coming out in 2009? They've been working on it for quite some time.

But yarr, the cinematic is teh awesomeness!

Woop! Looking good with those skins. Last thing that i hoped for the DK's, non-gameplay that is. Made elven males look less fruitpunch. ;>

Also, my new gaming rig is up and running... *grumbles* vista... *spits* problems... *grumbles*

Yea, actually i never beat Diablo in a legit way. I did it once 'cause i just wanted it done, with cheats.

And the reason why I didn't do it without cheats was because I had this über barbarian at like lvl 28. At least 5-6 'legendaries' that were awesome. And then... the save file got corrupted... I mean... *curses* ...

And then i reached 28 with a paladin, but he kinda sucked and i had to lvl him to 30at least before i could beat diablo, but i just couldn't be bothered with grinding. And i also had a necromancer, which i made when i was like 9or10, didn't have a clue on how to put the skills, so i just whent with skelletons and golems, which didn't work that well. :P

BUT! Now i'm older and can't wait to play Diablo3. Me and my friend are gonna have a LAN for a few days, starting the release, with lvlin' mania! :D

Well I think (since you only saw one of the armours kinda) the armours might be a bit toned down with the flashiness than that of the weapons. But I get your point, it's kinda similar to Titan Quest (which was kinda doing some new stuffs but in a Diablo sort of way) with the brightness and flashy stuff.

All in all, we've only seen 1 dungeon and 1small outdoor area and 2classes, so might be too early to judge.

Might also be different "levels" of flashyness due to your choice of class. A barbarian might not be as flashy as one of the caster classes, which IMO could be justified with some flashyness.

With the gameplay, i like the fact that you can use the enviroment now and it seems alot more 'tactical' now that you can use more spells a bit easier, since otherwise you could just have 2spells out and bind the other ones. So it's kinda developing what is already good.

Might be more features/new stuff shown in the soon future, since they won't show you everything they have so far in one 'blow'.

Ok, it's official from today!! They announced it on the World Wide Invitationals.

Diablo3:
eu.blizzard.com/diablo3/ (just copy paste it)

2 Classes are so far shown, the Classic Barbarian, and the new Witch Doctor. There's a Gameplay Video and a Cinematic Trailer.

If there's one offline game/single player game that can make me stop playing WoW (at least for a long while) it's this game. I'm probably gonna pre-order it once it's up on some site where you can purchase it and then just wait, hopefully not too long!

So, anyone else excited about this? :)

Edit: The site got up today, so everything isn't working properly at the moment. But you should be able to watch the Videos. :)

Just a guess, but most of those talents/spells will mostly be nerfed/buffed or totally reworked to work properly in the game. Since Alpha is pre-beta, it's really early. Alot of stuff doesn't even have textures on it.

Gives a small hint of what's to come though.

For example. Rogues getting yet another Dmg reduction talent?!?!??! That's nuts! :<
