Urzoga the Unbroken

Urzoga sees her name as a bit of a joke, the Unbroken. But she feels her mind and body fracture under the weight of the burden she carries with her. Ashamed of her memory loss and the gaps still happening, she just battles on and hopes to prove herself worthy of being a clan member one day. What use is an orc without a known herritage?

Now her dark secret is slowly starting to surface, she is more scared than ever. It is known she needs help, but what if it puts others in more danger than needed? Here's to hoping they truely keep their promise, if things spiral out of control.

View of others

Kyrazha Throatrender
Spoiler: show
I am forever in her debt. If she hadn’t pulled me out, I probably wouldn't have been alive now. We haven’t spoken a lot, but she sure has my respect. On the other hand, I do have to look out for her. She knows more than she is saying.

Kozugore Feraleye
Spoiler: show
The wolfking. Good with speeches, even when he is drunk. Also highly intimidating. Making a mistake in his presence is not something I want to think about.

Srelok Grimtide
Spoiler: show
A friend, an ally, an annoyance. With a good punch. I get the rules and dicipline, but feel he could loosen up a bit more every now and then.

He is also one I feel extremely guilty towards, having Azguhs blood on my hands. I can face him, but fear he’ll never forgive me for the act.

Za’karah Sporefang
Spoiler: show
My first New Blood, and couldn’t be more proud. She still has a lot to learn, and Probably even more to conquer than she wants to admit. But I hope she knows I’m still there for her.

Has quite some impressive skills with an axe, and great knowledge about herbs. I treasure the teapot still. Who knows, maybe one day, I can learn from her.

Magra Emberheart
Spoiler: show
A big sister. One of the few I completely trust. Fun to be around with, yet a shoulder to cry on when things get rough. I can’t express how grateful I am for her guidance through it all, and hope she will still be there once the next steps are taken.

I also wonder where the amount of sweets come from. She really seems to have a thing for them.

Tagrok Valorwind
Spoiler: show
He knows, he actually knows, avoiding me ever since. And I fear him for that. He has seen more than I ever hoped one would see, and now judges me for it. The whisper still haunts me, and all I can do is sit and wait. Just hope he makes it swift when the time comes.

Azolg Firebrand
Spoiler: show
I should never have spoken up to him, and feel stupid for having done so. Never experienced so many conflicted feelings at the same time, not in this way, or that I can remember at least. Having lost his mate, I feel for him, and can only hope time can heal the wound at least a bit.

For now, I'm just glad he doesn't avoid me, or give me any more reason to avoid him, and still wants to guide me on the path of becoming a Pyremaster and healing. Can do without threat though.

Vraxxar Wildmark
Spoiler: show
Calm and quiet. Not someone I see around a lot, but always seems to appear when others or me need him. He seemed calm when I told him about her, reassuring almost nothing would happen. I am grateful, but still worried he'll come around. I do wonder what more lies in store with this orc.

Nar'thak Strongarm
Spoiler: show
One orc I miss dearly. Once my tutor, now a friend. Someone to rely on and ask for much needed guidance when times get hard. I just hope I still make him proud.

Tahara Beastgrin
Spoiler: show
I have to admit, I kind of admire this orc. Vaguely knowing what she has been through before she met the clan, and the things being thrown at her ever since. Yet she stands up again and goes on, tackling things again. Her way of communicating with animals is curious, something I hope to learn more about one day.

Nakobu
Spoiler: show
I remember standing up for him when he got with the clan, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Nakobu proved to be a friend, and one to keep close. He has given me one of the most precious things I could ever ask for, a place to store my memory and revisit it over and over again. I am forever in his debt.

The Campfire / A Sliver of hope..
April 09, 2020, 11:22:12 PM
Apart from soft humming, the night  was silent. Urzoga rested herself against the familiar tree, slowly chipping away at the piece of wood she held in her hands. A small fire crackled away next to her, the sparks rising from the flames becoming one with the stars in the sky above. Once again, she did not sleep. But not out of fear, she had work to do this time, and a journey to make in the morning.

Slowly, as the night progressed, the wooden carving took shape between her fingers. Two bears, walking next to each other, but both looking over their shoulder. Urzoga followed the shapes with her fingers, humming softly, her face gentle. It had to be perfect, display the feelings, show its very intention.

Once she was done, she carefully wrapped the piece in the last bit of Nightsaber hide she had left, making sure it was completely covered. As she secured it with a leather cord and pressed her bloodied thumb on the knot, she nodded to her companions. “Come on.. Time.. to leave. We.. have a journey to.. Make.” As she muttered the words, her companions instantly stood up and followed her step, staying close to her side. They had watched her during the night, knowing what she had planned to do as soon as she came back from the brawl, the smile on her lips and fingers tracing the bruising on her arm. Urzoga seemed happy, and this clung to her still, as the four of them set out to walk the path.

A slight breeze rolled over the hills as the sun casted its rays over the hills, colouring them golden. Small drops of dew on the grass sparkled its light. Once again, it was as if all was perfect, just like last time. The memory rolled back, the hunt, Grimhide, everything flashed before her eyes once again. “I.. still miss you.. Old friend.” she muttered, while walking on, the carving pressed against her chest.

It took a while, longer than usual it seemed, before she reached the sacred grounds of Oshu’gun and climbed up one of the hills, facing the entrance. It was there that she sat, waiting, eyes closed and just listening to the sounds around her. The movement of the wind, her companions chasing each other over the field, the grazing of the animals. It was a strange silence, but an unusually welcome one. She had a chance to clear her mind, set everything straight, breathe.

“Urzoga..” The warm voice echoed through her mind again, the familiar warm hand resting on her shoulder. “You’re.. Back.” She smiled, still keeping her gaze on the mountain. “You are frightened, young one. There is no need.” Urzoga sighed deeply, her shoulders slumping a little, the carving still pressed against her chest. “Time. All in due time. Wounds need to heal, battles need to be fought. He was right when he said that.” Slowly, she nodded. “It’s.. I know.” she muttered the words softly. “Some things can’t stay hidden forever. Many want to help, and you know the path of healing. He said, he is willing to wait. Trust him, and trust yourself, Unbroken one.”

Urzoga chuckled as she lowered the carving to the ground and strokes the Nightsaber hide around it once more. He was right. The promise hung in the air. All that was needed, was time. It seemed, there was hope. All it would take, was courage.

The Campfire / One Orcs Dream..
October 07, 2019, 05:49:35 PM
The sun was out, a soft breeze played with the grass on the fields of Nagrand and birds were dancing in the sky. Urzoga inhaled deeply, eyes closed and a smile on her face. This moment was perfect, not a worry in the world.

Treepaw chased butterflies, running circles around the trio as they made their way further into the fields. Fang walked a few steps in front of Urzoga, sniffing the air in search for a perfect prey. “Good to be hunting again, right?” Fang snorted, agreeing with the young orc. With Kosh’harg over, the clan staying in these lands for a while and the urge to hunt running through her veins, it was just the perfect timing. The animals were eager, she could feel it, see it in their eyes. They needed to run. And run they did.

It was the freedom they had at that moment, no eyes watching their every single move. Just the four of them, running, chasing, laughing. Urzoga let out a cry of pure joy as they continued running over the green fields, Fang and the Moody worg quickly following with a howl of their own. It was as if they were children again, playing a game of chase in these lands.

Fang paused, nose high up in the air, Treepaw curiously following his example. “What is it, have you found something?” Urzoga almost whispered, her heart racing, one hand now resting on her bow. The worg snorted beneath her, watching the two closely as they moved closer. They had found a small herd of Talbuk, grazing peacefully on a hillside. “Perfect” A smile played on Urzoga her lips as she quietly slid down from the saddle and undid the buckle.

She took a deep breath and nocked an arrow into her bow. Fang and the worg were already circling the herd, picking out a Talbuk. Treepaw remained close and followed Urzoga as quietly as the bear could manage. It had become a game for them. Treepaw could barely contain her excitement as Urzoga nodded at her, and she charged. Stumbling over her slightly too large paws, she shook up the herd and set them for a run. The chase had begun.

Within a minute their target became clear, a younger Talbuk at the end of the group, slowing down as the others ran away. Fang and the worg followed it in an instant, snapping at the beast its legs and driving it further and further away from the others, leading it towards Urzoga. She saw the fear in the talbuks eyes as they approached quickly, smelled it in the wind. And then, all became black...

“Urzoga” The deep voice sounded again. “Urzoga!” A little more stern this time. She felt her heart pounding in her chest, a taste of iron on her lips as she gasped for air.

First, everything was a blur of red hues. It took a couple of deep breaths to get her vision sharp again. Everything was covered in blood around her. Fang and Treepaw approached slowly, blood dripping from their mouth and paws. “We.. did..it” She almost asked her companions, who were looking down at her, four concerned eyes burning on her face. The talbuk was slain, and feasted on by her companions, by her.

In an attempt to wipe her mouth, she noticed only more blood on her hands. “We.. need a bath..” she muttered as she slowly tried standing up. A sharp pain ran through her side, and as she collapsed, she felt the warm liquid slowly dripping out of a series of cuts. “How... long has it.. been.. this time” she muttered while looking at Fang, who only looked at her, concerned. “I’ll be.. fine. Had.. worse... You know that” she whispered as she slowly straightened her back and walked towards the saddle.

Grunting, she poured what remained of her firewater into the wound, before bandaging it with strips of fabric. “This will.. do.” Urzoga muttered, still breathing heavily. It took a while before it all sank in. The hunt was a success, in a way. She was calm now, fed. Silent. “This is not you, young one” The deep voice sounded again in the back of her mind, disappointed. “How did you ever let it come so far? You had it, controlled.” She shook her head slowly, looking down at her blood-covered hands. This was her now. A hunter, a killer.

Night had fallen as Urzoga shot up from her spot. The worg had not shown itself yet. Fang and Treepaw followed her as she walked back to the Talbuks remains. “Where is he, Fang?” Again, she almost whispered as the wolf stood next to her. He lifted his nose up in the air, sniffed a few times and bolted away. Urzoga followed, one hand pressed against the deep cuts in her side, as fast as she could. He was close, she could feel it.

The worg growled at her as she dropped next to him in the grass. Following her every move with his green eyes, she stroked him carefully, until she found the wound. The Talbuk had gotten to him, one of the horns still sticking out of his abdomen as he was lying in the grass, slowly dying. “He did it to protect you.” A broad shadow fell over Urzoga and the worg, blocking the moonlight from them. “He has always been loyal, even with his mood. Name him, grant him that much before he passes.” She did not have to look up to know who was standing behind her. A ghost from her past, a voice to guide her.

Tears streamed down her face as she rested her forehead against the worgs face. “I am sorry, my friend. Forgive me for the suffering.” She softly whispered as she scratched behind his ear. “I will never forget you. Grimhide.” The worg snorts, approving. “Grimhide” she spoke again. “Let me honor you as long as my days may last. If you let me, I shall wear your hide, carry you with me every step I take on my path as you carried me.” She moved back a little, staring right into his eyes, waiting for a sign. Slowly, with whatever strength was left in him, he raised his head and inclined it ever so slightly before looking back at her. “Thank you, friend” Tears streamed down her face as she buried herself in his fur, being with him while he took his last breath.

Fang howled, his song echoing over the fields. Treepaw came closer, sniffing a few times at the body and placing herself next to him, watching over the sobbing orc and her dead companion during this night. “See what you have done?” Another voice, sharper, made its way into her mind. “You got him killed, and now you are planning to wear its hide? Ha, a good way to let others know you have failed.” The voice mocked her, laughed at her as she got back on her knees and started to work, respecting the body and ignoring the voice as best as she could “With every cut, you look more and more like the beast we are. You know it, don’t fight it. We will have fun together. Just. One thing.” Suddenly the voice was as cold as ice, and a stinging pain stinging ran through her right hand as she pulled back from the worg. “Don’t let the others get in my way. By whatever means. I don’t need to.. remind you.. what he said, do I?”

As the pyre burned, Urzoga bowed down one last time before she walked away. The hide resting on Treepaws back, Fang at her side. “We did it.” She muttered, more to herself than to the animals, as she made her way back. Back to Garadar. Back to the clan. Back to hiding.

The Campfire / Re: The Haze
August 31, 2019, 10:36:17 PM
She didn’t even feel the cold against her body anymore. Or noticed she was shivering. She just, sat there, holding on to her stomach. The cold made the pain tolerable, comfortable even, reassuring she was still here. The snow was falling again and slowly formed a blanket over her back, hiding her from curious eyes.

It took Urzoga some time to gather herself and shake of the white blanket. With shaking legs she stood up and made her way to a nearby pine, seeking shelter from the incoming snow. As soon as her back hit the trunk, she heard his voice again, the careful but icy tone echoing through her head. “You will explain yourself, now.”

Slowly she pulled her right glove from her hand and unwrapped the bandages. The two deep wounds seemed closed now, a thick scab running across them.
“Aren’t they beautiful” The but all to familiar voice rang through her head. With shaking fingers, she followed them, dull in the cold of Northrend.

Her breath trembled, tears frozen on her face as she looks down. This could not happen again.
“See them as a little reminder.” The voice sounds mocking, a soft chuckle in the background. “He did say that wild beasts must be put down.” Urzoga closes her eyes and rests her head against the tree. Her breath quickens, the shivering becoming worse and the pain in her body returns.

“Don’t fight me, you know what can happen.” The voice is cold now, the sound of a snarl not far away. The darkness was closing in again, now leaving nothing but suffering in it’s way. Hunched over, she reaches for her pouches and manages to grab hold of the object she was looking for, clinging onto it for dear life.

The Campfire / The Haze
August 07, 2019, 12:45:52 AM
Everything felt cold. The air, the ground, the sun shining through the trees. Even her breath turned into small clouds as she exhaled. Shivering she sat up, looking around for a moment, confused. Where was she? She remembered riding along with the scouting party before everything had turned black.

How long had it been since she had left them? As she tried to look up, a sharp pain shot through her head. Growling lowly she pressed her hand against her head, breathing for a moment with her eyes closed before it sank in. Something was wrong. This was not how it used too be. How long had she been.. out?

Her fingers trembled as she followed the deep cut. What had happened? This.. Had never happened before. She was certain. With both hands shaking in front of her, another wave of fear and confusion came over her. They did not look like hers anymore, covered in layers of dirt and some dark liquid.

This was not how it was supposed to go. She had to return. Get back to the clan. It was a time of war, and she had dissapeared. It was wrong. Jumping down with what little grace she could master, she landed on the forest ground. Growling again as her right leg gave out, she dropped to one knee and paused, slowly taking in the damage.

Torn strips of fabric where knotted together, clinging to the sticky substance on her leg, covering another four deep cuts. What had happened? Her eyes flicked from left to right as she heared rustling in the bushes. One hand lowering to her dagger, the other supporting her weight for now, she waited. She was not alone anymore.

Not breathing, dagger in one hand, she waited. The rustling came closer, louder, until two pairs of eyes emerged. Familiar eyes. And yet strange. They looked just like her. Both creatures covered in the same layer of dirt as she, clinging to their fur, a strange anger in their eyes. It was not over.

Her bow was broken, her quivers empty. Alone in the woods, wounded, weakened and with yet another gap in her memory she stood against the tree, eyes closed. Listening to the sounds of the woods around her. Another rustle sounded, further away. Something had followed them, hunted them, weakened them.

Inhaling deeply, she pushed herself from the tree and crouched down, growling lowly. Something was taking control again, in an almost animalistic way. Toes digging into the soft forest ground, dagger in one hand and each side covered by her companions, the darkness became her master again..

Red Blade Records / Urzoga
May 05, 2019, 08:37:54 PM

Name: Urzoga
Alias: -
Rank: New Blood

Age: 23
Gender: Female
Race: Orc
Clan: -
Class: Hunter
Alignment: Good Question

Family: Unknown
Known Friends: Fang, Treepaw, Nar'tak Strongarm (Her tutor), Nakobu, Atar'ka, Realyn Keeneye
Known Enemies: None

Appearance:
Urzoga is Thin, having lost more weight than good for her by past events. She however makes up for this with her spirit, what often gets her in some form of trouble.

What makes her stand out, is her fiery red hair and her bright blue-green eyes.
Her hair reaches to her waist, and is decorated with several braids in the back. The front she cuts herself with a dagger, keeping it out of her eyes as much as possible.
Her eyes tell you she has seen a lot, yet are strangely peaceful and captivating. Dark circles around then betray her lack of sleep at nights.

Her face is marked by a series of deep scars, running from her left temple to her right jaw. Her right tusk is broken, only a stump remains in the corner of her mouth.

On her lower left arm she carries a scar looking like a bite mark from a young canine creature, and another long scar runs over her right shoulder. The rest of her skin is marked by the wilderness, but free of any modifications.

She is a hunter, keeping to herself a lot whenever possible, seeking companionship with animals. Often looking like she got in a fight with a tree to get Treepaw back, she gave up caring about it, pulling the occasional leaf or twig from her hair.

With her, she carries a leather quiver on her hip, filled with several types of arrows and decorated with a leather string holding a small wooden bear in it's place. In her boot she carries a black steel dagger, which she mainly uses for crafting.

Around her neck hangs a necklace made from a leather cord and a Adamanium crystal, and on her belt hangs a small wooden owl she carved herself.

Her armor is old, rusted and damaged, the fur on her shoulder matted and slightly stained with blood. Yet her efforts of trying to keep the pieces in the best condition she can are visible.

Personality:
Stubborn, Silent and determined. Often finds herself confused about a lot of things and is slowly learning to ask the needed questions. She is one who keep a distance, but loves to interact at the same time.

The lack of memory makes her insecure when others are speaking about events and things that are known, and almost ashamed to ask. She rather pains herself trying to remember than having to ask time and time again.

She keeps closest with Fang and Treepaw. The three of them having a unbreakable bond, as is common with orcs and their companions. Usually, they can not be seen without each other without a very good reason. Fang acting like a big brother and keeping a watchful eye, while Treepaw sets out for mischief and adventure whenever she can. Urzoga will go to any lengths to keep them safe, even if that means putting herself in danger.

History:
Spoiler: Beware, Even Urzoga does not know any of this • show
First years
The first time Urzoga ever opened her eyes, it stormed. The young girl was born amidst a world of chaos and captivity. Free from the chains of the camps, her parents found shelter and safety with the other freed orcs. Quickly she proved she was a curious little girl, with two bright eyes following the every move of the orcs during preparation for battles to come.

Age 3
It was when her parents took her with them on the ships to Kalimdor, she showed her natural affinity with animals. Caring more for the mice and other creatures on the ship than the other orcs. Even when they arrived in the land now named Durotar, she brought some of the mice with her, hidden in the pouches she carried with her.

Age 6
Living now on one of the farms in the dessert and caring for boar, Urzoga was one to help where it was needed, but always with one eye on the horizon. In spare time she roamed the lands, followed by whatever critter she had befriended for the time being. It was at this moment her father had decided it was time she would start learning to defend herself, and with help of others learned her the ways around different weapons, one more successful than the other.

Age 8
During the years, several travelers made their way through the small farm they had established. It was during these years she learned woodcarving, bits of leatherworking and useful survival skills. These were the years she started disappearing more and more, walking longer distances and staying away for days. The woods called her. It where the years where her parents grew more sickly, still living under the heavy burden of their past.

Age 9
Urzoga's mother dies, leaving her with her sick father now to care for the farm. At night she listens to the stories he tells her of the days during the war and what happened in Outland, learning her part of orc history and what shaped them. With her sick father in bed, dying, he made her promise to grant him a quick death as it comes closer, so he won’t suffer for long.

Age 12
In the years after her parents had passed, Urzoga had taken her leave. The boars were set free to roam the plains, and she was finally free to roam the woods she longed for. It was at this time she truly learned what freedom meant. It was also at this time she avoided contact with the outside world, keeping herself hidden as she explored the lands, befriending several creatures on her way and slowly forgetting the past on the farm.

Age 15
As the rest of the world had set out to battle the Lich King, Urzoga finds herself still lingering in the woods. This time slowly making her way towards Orgrimmar, but still keeping her distance from the city. It is at this age she finds Fang as a pup, her soon to be loyal companion, and saves him from a more terrible fate.

Age 17[b/]
With her time taken to show Fang she can be trusted, and focusing her full attention towards him, she creates an unbreakable bond between the two. Not the one of master and pet, but one of friends. Now slowly making her way back into civilization, the duo is often judged by their behavior, but too proud and stubborn to give in.

Age 18
Walking around in Orgrimmar more often, Urzoga is one of the regulars to start a fight in the city if one ill word was spoken of her, or Fang. Stubborn as she is and hardened by the years in the woods, she quickly proves she won’t go down without a fight, and only stops fighting if she loses consciousness. She still roams the lands, only returning ever so often to sell hides and other materials she has gathered from her long hunts in the lands. It is rare to find her unharmed these days as an anger in her grows.

Age 22
During one of her rare visits in the city, Urzoga gets approached by one of the guards. The city and it’s fighters are being rallied for the invasions on the Alliance, and without awaiting her answer, she is deployed with a small group of other hunters to guard the borders of the Ashenvale woods. None of them have even the slightest clue what is happening, but do as they are told, barely speaking to each other unless needed.

Age 23
After roaming the woods and keeping guard without any major events, Urzoga and the group lose focus, longing to return to the woods and the hunt. In one of the many unguarded moments, they get ambushed by a group of angry elves. With the tree now burning, and Urzoga carrying the horde emblem, she has become the enemy without even knowing it. Not going down without a fight, she eventually gets captured by a large group of Kaldorei and dragged into one of their dens. There she is held for weeks, tortured for information she’s unable to provide them with and getting herself deeper and deeper into the dens as she refuses to surrender and die, as many before her did.

It is eventually here where she’s found and saved by the Red Blades, weakened and tortured into oblivion. No memory of her past, only that of her name, and the one of her loyal companion.
