I looked down on the lumps in my hand. They looked so useless, just lying there, useful for nothing. My eyes closed, almost without me wanting to. Too weak. I haden't been able to help me friends. Now they were hurt, all because of me. I was still weak, useless. My hands ruined, I could barely grip something. Couldn't fight. What good did I do, just a useless mouth to feed, dragging them down. I grit my teeth in anticipation, the dull thud reaching my ears almost before the pain radiates from my hand. This wasn't what I wanted. Not only being inte the middle of a camp, but also not helping anyone. Not Sinami, nor the tribe. Another jolt of pain shoot up through the arm, accompanied by the thud of my second hand hitting the ground beside me. This din't help them either, but the pain helped to keep my mind of it. But it was fading. I know there is a barrel beside me, so I lash out with my fist against it, hoping the hard wood make the pain last longer then the ashes of the ground.

Just as I'm about to lift my hand from the barrel and strike it again, I realise that something was different. The wood is vibrating slightly below my bandaged fist. With some hessitation I raise my hand, and hit the barrel beside me. The pain shoot up from the hand again, but it's not what I focus on. It's the sound. As I hit it the third time, I don't notice the pain. My hand tingles as the palm lie agains the vibrating wood, and I can almost feel the air around me responding. A smile creep onto my face before I open my eyes. That had felt good.
With some effort I lift over the empty barrel and place it between my legs. I close my eyes and leans back agains the crate, pulling up my legs. The barrel feel a bit unsteady, so I tilt it against my knee, placing my other leg below it to stop it from falling down. Holding it in place, I start to test what kind of sounds I can make with it.

Here's the first part of the story that you encounter as you go through the dark (red) portal

You first encounter the heroes and a vanguard defending the portal from the Iron Horde. The main characters that we will follow are Khadgar, Thrall, Cordona Felsong, Vindicator Maraad, Lady Liadrin, Hansel Heavyhands, Olin Umberhide, Ariok, Qiana Moonshadow and Thaelin Darkanvil.

The first task is to find out what is going on so you can shut down the portal. On one of the orcs you find a Warsong Missive from Grommash. It turns out that the Warsong are protecting the Shadow Coincil and Gul'dan, whos fel magic they use to fuel the portal. You head over to two spires and destroy two relics, which have hold Cho'gall and Theron'gor captive, not at all pleased to be used by the warsong. They also reveal that Gul'dan powers the portal. The warsong are channeling the spirits of slain prisoners through his body.

To stop this, you need to destroy the relics that hold Gul'dan captive, and free him. When you do so he tells you to hurry back to help my dwindling armies, and that there will be time for regret later. He concludes that we will meet again.

With the Dark Portal closed, you return to make a hasty retreat with the heroes, as the vanguard hold the forces back for as long as they can. Your new mission is simple: Stay alive. The next set of quests takes part in the Tanaan Jungle.

The camp in Blasted Lands appear completely unchanged. I don't think there's been any changes to the "old" world.

There is a WoD dungeon for UBRS though. I've not played it yet.

I had a rogue leveling ahead of me. With the starter gear (item lvl 500 greens with rare weapons), there was no sustainability problems reported so far.

Quick check seem to have them at largely unchanged mobility as before. There are a couple of new additions though. Fists Of Fury can be glyphed to be usable while moving (but then it thankfully doesn't stun), there is Glyph of Freedom Roll that dispel all snares on you then used, and Glyph of Victory Roll that adds a charge of roll when you kill an enemy that grant experience or honor. The roll glyphs are exclusive, so you have to pick which one you want though.

Note that I do not play a 90 monk on live, so I may have missed something for them. But Roll and Flying Serpent Kick is unchanged atleast, as far as I can tell.

Doomguard: Summoning a doomguard, you can not "Command Demon" it to do anything. It have a doombolt that it will chaincast against enemies. It doesn't run out of fel energy doing so. Sacrefising it give you the exact same buff as any other demon, but none of its (one) ability.

Infernal: Infernals have no ability. The immolation aura always ticks, and currently doesn't put you in combat even if it damages something. I reported that as a bug. The melee damage is much less then the pulsing AoE. Sacrefising it does the same as the doomguard, you get the buff but no new spell.

With the talent, none of the summons got a CD. The game tracks the CD "under the hood" so you can change to and from it and any potential CD on your infernal/doomguard summon will still be there.

I think you're not supposed to sac your perma doomguard/infernal. I think I saw some post on it somewhere. Same thing as you shouldn't use Spirit Bond and Lone Wolf works for hunters. But I will check out how it works for you. Anything more?

I can start checking on mobility for monks, but I don't think they did... EU are currently not able to copy characters right now, so I can't do questing so well (would start from level 1 q.q), but when that opens I will check it out. I'm on the lvl 100 "pvp" realm right now for checking things.

So, I managed to get into beta. Anything you want me to test or look at, ask me here and I'll do my best. If you don't want any spoilers, you might want to stay clear of this topic, as I will not filter what I post here. What you ask for, you shall recieve!

Turns out I can create 90 characters, but not copy my own. So I will start quest testing too!

TODO; things to check:


  • The Iron-March. Of what forces does it consist, what is their purpose and so on.
  • Blademaster and Burning Blade lore
  • Garrison
  • Nice Spots

DONE:


  • Hat on Human Female
  • GoS on infernal/Doomguard
  • Demonic Servitute
  • Monk mobility changes
  • Rogue leveling survability and sustainability
  • The Horde camp in the Blasted Lands and how the orcs of the Blackrock, if there are anyones left, are interacting with those guys.

Playing around a bit with my drawing tablet, seeing what I ended up with :)
