Since the Shoutbox has been clogging up as of late with posts about 6.2 changes, new items and the like, figure it'd be easier for everyone to instead house it in a discussion thread.
Two topics to start discussion:
Flying in Draenor, starting in 6.2

Thanks to Vezara and Rashka for those two! Please discuss these topics plus anything else related to WoW the game here.
One thing I'll say about the flying meta is that I'll need to finally start doing those stupid, boring Apexis dailies. <.<
I have Loremaster, the treasures and most of Draenor explored, so those others aren't too bad.
A terribly stupid idea from start to finish to allow flying in draenor now.
They are just buckling to a few loud, idiotic individuals who want to abuse it for pvp purposes. The whole of the expansions zones are about to get a lot more empty than they already are.
I don't like it either. But at least we're not on a pvp server now...
I don't like it, simply because the world feels a whole lot smaller with flying mounts.
I don't like it at all. It ruins immersion and the fun of exploring, and it makes people lazy. I'm glad that they're at least making it time consuming to be able to fly.. but overall I don't want them to add flying -at all-. :/ But It could've been worse imo.. they could've just made it like "pay 2k then you can fly! :D"
I'm reading the rage in the comments from people who go "FUCK YOU BLIZZARD THIS SUCKS JUST LET ME FLY!" And it is glorious.
I am not surprised.
That flying kinda also kills the treasure hunting aspect of the expansion....then again, you pretty much have to know em already. Yet still...people whine about how they need flying and then they get it and get bored in a week and start whining of many things that flying just made ridiculously easy.
Can I just be "that guy" for a sec...
We don't HAVE TO get flying. I know I won't be in any rush whatsoever to get it. Because, as people said, it's stupid. I liked my flightless Draenor.
Tbh, I see this as a huge F-you! from Blizz to the whining crowd. Since most of what I read was they HATE and DETEST doing all the shit they'll now be forced to do to fly unless they can fly.
It is a shame, they didnt have the spine to stick with they're convictions and vision. I really enjoyed not flying. That was never the problem with WoD. The problem is less content compared to MoP, 5.1. 5.2 had masses of things to do and was far more engaging compared to WoD. I hate to sayit, but the problem with WoD is garrisons in my opinion.
Anyways I guess its time we all...
*puts on sunglasses*
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaah!
I'm personally more interested in this new Rylak Mount than actually flying on it!
Well, I don't see how garrisons really ruin anything. Its just the same daily grind as you had with Isle of Thunder, only that its instanced where you return the quests. It'd be a whole different thing if all the missions would be in the garrison too.
And problem isn't flying really. Those people obsessed about it are people we don't care, mostly. I see the problem of Blizz acting like a coy hooker who you'll know will get on its knees if the PvP and PvE whiner kids just throw good enough tantrum.
Who are also the people who get it and then start whining again.
I dont think garrisons really ruin anything apart from taking people out of the world, negating what no flying was meant to do in the first place. How many people just sit in them all day only porting to Warspear, Ashran then back again. What i mean is, they're just not what people expected. No customization really lets be honest. And a clever mobile styled game with timed missions and resources though profitable isnt exactly exciting now. Maybe even without garrisons people would just sit in Warspear all day, who knows?
I just feel let down and disappointed with what WoD could have been and what it is. Some people seemed to have focused that disappointment into not so subtly or even slightly constructively criticizing the no flying descion, but that's just the internet and all its unbridled horror and angst
Still hoping (against hope) that we'll be able to move our garrison. I REALLY wanted mine in Nagrand, Tanaan or Gorgrond.
Yeah I'd love garrisons in other zones. I wanted Vez's to be in Frostfire, but I wanted my warlock's garrison to be in Shadowmoon Valley, so it was rather disappointing when they announced that we couldn't. :P
Garrisons in other zones would have been lovely, offering some more variety!
As for the flying. I enjoyed the no flying, really did. But now that they're adding flying... I'm going to be annoyed, because then NOT having flying will be a chore. I don't like them adding it for those who have finished certain achievements. Just makes it another grind. Better to not have it, more frustrating to have it exist but YOU don't have it...
I agree completely there, Its going to be annoying still i really cant be arsed if i am honest i got Aviana's feather that will get me where i need to go a few months and next expansion will be announced (hopefully) and this whole thing will be like a bad dream
I still think the Irony in "I DON'T WANT TO EXPLORE FROM THE GROUND LET ME FLY!" "okay, you can fly when you've explored everything!" is amazing.
Blizz 10/10 troll.

Top notch shitstorm on the AD forums.
TL;DR: unassuming, professionally-run house guild lasts five years, is actually an ERP sex-ring where no relationships amongst normal members are allowed, yet every single female character is forced into the GM's harem -- a GM who also doesn't rule out underage characters.

I have to admit that one of my fears about AD was keeping OotRB 'uncontaminated' from some of the weirdness, since DefiasRP effectively self-policed itself through the vouch system for years. It's at least positive that the AD community en-masse can band together to blacklist people like this, even if they obviously can't get rid of them completely.
That is both deeply shocking, and also very comforting. An interesting read, good to see AD does have some mature consensus.
Kind of reminds me of early DB.
Christ almighty, that's some crazy stuff right there so it is.
Yes, AD has crazies too. Unfortunately.

If you want to follow along with the continuation, featuring his guildees defending the sanctity of the concept in terms of RP immersion.
Don't worry. Everybody gives BR a wide berth. :-)
Oh yeah.. that guild.
I would avoid posting anything on that thread. Instead, watch from afar, read other people's posts and gather clues to what type of people are behind those same comments. While their posts should never determine the kind of people they really are outside of the forum, it's still a tool to learn about one or another person on a superficial level.
.. Though I see that you did post. That'll give you some "positive points" on your outlook I guess. But I don't know if that's wise given how "new" you are on this realm. Some people might claim that you are new and "trying to fit in the crowd", which isn't bad.. though it can backfire in some contexts, namely on heated arguments.
Fortunately, you have the majority of the realm (given that you sided with the appropriate side against those horrendous acts) on your side so no harm done (on the contrary actually, it contributed for the mass voice of disgust towards those ill actions!). THOUGH one of the members of that guild in question did posted something about "jumping the bandwagon", which proves my point that such types of posts considering your (guild) youth on this server may backfire. One thing to consider in the future if you decide to once again post things of the sorts on more "passive but yet heated mud flinging" topics on which you aren't even part of the subject in question.
... Anyway, it's an advise. You can either read, think about it or discard and do what you wish. I'll still watch from afar and comment now and then because, for now, you do seem to need some help in this migration. Plus, I do somehow still care for this guild.. even though I was in it for very little. I can fade away if you feel that these posts of mine are useless to your perspective on how things work.
Concerning Bayerleyn....well, I am one of those people who'll openly admit I have been part of the said guild. And can say its a double edged blade, even if other edge is bit duller.
That guild has some wonderfull events! And when arranging stuff with them, they are among the easiest and most reasonable people to reach a compromise with. They are consistent and friendly.
On the otherhand, the GM is a whole bag of crazy cats, as is his first and second in command. To an outsider its not necessarily too obvious but there's some OOC stuff going on that keeps the trinity together and...can cause some odd outbursts in guildchat when the GM is practicing his noble rights with the women of the guild. I just remember one time when one of the officers was playing while drunk and it got..awkward.
The guild is also mostly a deadend to women in it, as in while they can advance in ranks and such, personal development is stumped by the fact that if they have life outside of the guild(the characters) all advancement in the guild grinds to a halt. My character for example held all the qualifications to reach the higher ranks, except the lord didn't feel she was...loyal and committed enough. I was even told that otherwise I'd get it but my character wasn't showing her loyalty enough.
So I eventually left because of the limitations the guild places on female characters and well...because GW2 had just come out and I jumped on that bandvagon.
Just to bring another view to this discussion :)
While I probably don't have a clear enough view on the guild and its inner workings, I can safely say that judging from what I've seen, I think it's a wholly disgusting matter. Don't really have the stomach for an in-depth analysis of it, but let's say hiding behind (false) claims of historical accuracy is just a piss poor way to get your ERP-crave going and, frankly, is a toxic means to show just how possessive and manipulative you appear to be as a person when it comes to women. Sure, you can claim it's purely IC, but from what I've seen from a few posts and screenshots, this well and clearly goes beyond the IC alone. I only wish AD would band together to get this shitstain banned by Blizzard, rather than making a joking matter out of it on the forums. Would do everyone, including those in their own guild, a lot of good.
Historical inaccuracies aside, Some of these things amount to pedophilia.
Blizz removed the topics now, they're no longer readable. So who knows, maybe they'll take a look at the guild itself as well.
That guild has been there 5 years...and many a reports have been made but they are still there.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/15910697/release-the-names-character-name-reclamation-coming-6-18-2015
QuoteWith the upcoming Warlords of Draenor patch (6.2), we will be releasing sidelined characters’ names back into the wild. Any characters that have not logged into the game since December 7, 2010 will have their names freed up, making them available to anyone creating a new character or using the paid Character Name Change service.
How Do I Preserve My Names?
You will need to log in to World of Warcraft and enter the game using each character whose name you wish to retain before patch 6.2 goes live. While it is possible no one will claim your recently released name and you might be able to snag it again, it is probably not worth the risk if you want to keep your names intact long-term.
Our goal with this great name liberation is to make sure new and returning players have a large and varied pool of names available to choose fromâ€"so log in now if you wish to preserve your unused characters’ names for your ongoing journey through Draenor.
The Name I wanted wasn’t freed!
Going forward, we expect to free inactive names around the release of new expansions. Prior to the reclamation process, we’ll post more information on the timeframe this will occur to allow you the opportunity to preserve your name.
So anyone who was unable to get their character's names on the AD migration, I guess you can try again when 6.2 drops! Best of luck.
Alright. I've been quite vocal about this in the OOC chat.. but since I've had a conversation with a GM ( His name will not be mentioned or showed because he helped me with my initial issue swiftly and was very helpful overal), I've actually been quite annoyed with the state of PVP as of 6.2. Why am I annoyed?
QuoteLevel 100 characters engaging in PvP combat now have the following gear changes.
All gear between item levels 560 and 690 will now scale up to 690 in PvP combat.
Non-PvP gear above item level 715 will scale down to 715 in PvP combat.
PvP gear above item level 715 will not be capped in PvP combat.
So.. After the GM had helped me with my issue, I decided to ask him/her about that part of the patch notes.. to be more accurate: Why did blizzard add this and why didn't blizzard add PVP-gear scaling in PVE situations?
The response? judge for yourself!
(http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/ss278/Davidson_02/Reason_For_PVE_Scaling_in_PVP_1.png) (http://s583.photobucket.com/user/Davidson_02/media/Reason_For_PVE_Scaling_in_PVP_1.png.html)
Blizzard confirms PVE community of WoW are QQ'ers.
If this looks, in your eyes, like a rant.. well, it is. I'm really not impressed with how blizzard is handling this situation as for many others. Get your crap together blizzard <_<
You mention his name in one of the last whispers.
But yes... uhmm... summer pudding?

Good catch. Thanks for mentioning
Anyway, i'll continue what i was saying in shoutbox. They did say this was the last planned raid patch which makes perfect sense. But when it came to an idea of a 6.3. He said that as the story wraps up where we started in Tanaan and that we do defeat Archimonde It would be hard to beat. And with now no Faralon as it wont 'fit' anymore. I cant see what or where the story can go?
I really do hate bitching and moaning which probably relates to my absence ingame i am forcing myself when i am playing its purely due to this guild. I wuv ooh guys :-*.
I can only hope that they've now perhaps abandoned WoD "in my opinion"THat they are now working on the next expansion and that they've learned from WoD's mistakes. Higher expansion price more monitization, shop mounts etc.. less patches/content/battlegrounds and a whole rushed overtone of "we cut this out " and "we wont be adding this"
P.S Corey saying 6.1 was a large patch did make me laugh though. And I am guessing the next expansion will tie into the movie next year in the summer? That's a long time of 6.2. Perhaps a expansion teaser at Gamescon? That sounds kinda wrong if they've having a Blizzcon in November
*ends his ceaseless whining and crying*
See you all this weekend <3
