Name: Kraag the Wolfking
Alias: N/A
Rank: Chieftain & Wolfking
Age: Deceased
Gender: Male
Race: Orc
Clan: Clan Redblade
Class: Warrior
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Family: Githya Redblade (father), Kraagash (son)
Known Friends: Magoth, Magoth's Wolfpack
Known Enemies: Ogres
Appearance: An almost mythical figure in Clan Redblade lore, Kraag seems to have the same herculean physique and strength his father Githya is endowed with. From his golden spiked pauldrons to his iron scalemail leggings, much of his armor was passed down and worn by his successors. It is also known that he wielded his father's famous blade.
Kraag began the tradition of wearing wolfmasks among Clan Redblade. When the great worg Magoth died, Kraag made a fierce warmask out of his head. Magoth’s Warmask became an heirloom of the Clan, passed down through the generations from chieftain to chieftain.
Personality: An orc of unparalleled cunning, Kraag was a pragmatic figure whose primary goal in life was the foundation and survival of his new Clan Redblade. Not as hellbent on revenge or plunder as his father, Kraag was nonetheless a fearless leader who favoured bold and unorthodox solutions to difficult problems.
It can be assumed that Kraag was not a modest orc, given his claiming of the title "Wolfking", and christening both his eldest son Kraagash and his Clan's settlement of Kraag'gol in his name.
History: Kraag the Wolfking was the eldest son of Githya and became the first chieftain of Clan Redblade. Having learnt under his ruthless father in his latter years, he proved his right to lead not just by his bloodline but his strength of body and mind.
In Kraag’s reign, the Redblades were troubled by fearsome wolves who came down from the mountains. Kraag travelled to the lair of the wolves and laying his blade aside, wrestled with their leader, a huge black garn named Magoth. Kraag both defeated and tamed Magoth, and the great wolf became Kraag’s companion for the rest of his life.
Kraag became known as the Wolfking after this triumph, as the Redblades and hill-wolves allied with one another. Within the shadow of Magoth's lair, the Clan built their first permanent settlement -- an outpost known as the Home of Kraag, or Kraag'gol in ancient orcish. A stone monolith in his remembrance was laid outside Kraag'gol upon his passing.
Things you may know about this character: Kraag is both the first Chieftain and first Wolfking of Clan Redblade, and is perhaps the most venerated of all its Chieftains. Centuries later, Grenth Stonebrow could lay claim to being part of Kraag's bloodline.
One of the sons of Kozgugore and Morgeth was named Kraag, in his honor. His name seems to have traveled widely, as the Shadowmoon mystic Kraagara Starmaw is also likely to have been named after him.
The Nag'Ogar were created by Kraag himself, as an honor-guard that ate at his table within Kraag'gol. (http://orcsoftheredblade.com/forum/index.php?topic=1129.msg12707#msg12707)
Things you may not know about this character: The spirit of Kraag is amongst the hardest of all the Clan Redblade ancestors to contact, having been sighted precious few times over the centuries. The secretive Cult of the Wolf was created when Mruthgor the Shaman King, a powerful Spiritwalker, achieved this feat.
