Title: Uploading from Photoshop and quality loss issues.
Post by: Greggar on October 16, 2011, 03:01:42 AM
I was wondering if anyone could help me here regarding quality and colour loss when I want to upload a drawing made in Photoshop CS4.

I work on a mac, tried saving in different files, used 'save as web', messed around with colour settings etc. And still I keep suffering from colour loss when I want to upload my drawing... Weird thing is that when I take a screenshot of my drawing I have no quality loss at all.

I've tried looking for a solution everywhere and it's slowly driving me nuts. Can anyone help me with this? I'd really appreciate it.

What file type do you usually save it as?

Well Kozzle, I found the solution :P I knew that the problem was Photoshop itself because everything that left photoshop suffered from colour loss.

And I somehow fixed it by setting the RGB in color settings to "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" which reflects the characteristics of the average PC monitor and is ideal for web work. Then in Color Management Policies I switched the RGB from Off to Convert to Working RGB and then simply saved as with a JPEG. Haven't tried the other formats yet.
