Rated Battlegrounds
(http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss218/Morhen/HordeBanner.jpg)
After having talked to the Guild Leader of Warsong Blades, he and I agreed that we would try to pool the interested members of our guild into an attempt at Rated Battlegrounds. This is obviously only for those who are interested in such, and not to be considered an obligatory event.
Why? For fun, for points and learning together. Doing PvP, even rated such, amongst RP'ers will hopefully bring a good overall feel about it.
How? You sign up here, by responding in this thread. List your character name(s) and your role/spec.
When? Ths is not set in stone, as this topic is only to see how big the interest is for Rated Battlegrounds. Once I have a number of members I will talk to the Warsong Blades again and we will see what we can whip up.
Example:Morgeth, Warlock (DPS) Affliction spec.
Thanuk, Shaman (DPS) Enhancement spec.
I guess this could replace the PvP night as well, if it's something we're going to do often :)
Muzjhath, DPS, Hunter
Still lack a PC, but I'm intrested!
Krunch, enhancement, pro flag carrier
Kaigron, Rogue (DPS) Subtlety. 8)
(semi-sign-up for now! still bsuy with the license and school) Grosh, blood
Krunch, crips
THE LIST
Kaigron, Rogue (DPS) Subtlety.
Muzjhath, Hunter (DPS) Survival.
Thanuk, Shaman (DPS) Enhancement.
Groshnakk, Deah Knights (DPS) Blood.
Morgeth, Warlock (DPS) Affliction / Shazula, Shaman (Healing) Resto.
Kozgugore, Hunter (DPS) Marksman / Gakrath, Warrior (DPS) Arms.
WTB moar healers! Lazy shamans!
Many on this list have gone inactive, so I'm going to state that the current draft looks like this:
Kozgugore
Morgeth
Thanuk
If anyone wants to add their name, please let me know.
I need something to make the game more fun.. guess rated BG wouldn't hurt, expecially since my arena teams are inactive, sign me up if i am needed. Elemental shaman.
I would be up for it, sounds like fun. Tarag (Dps) Enhancement.
Reults of Trial
Two battles took place
Those who participated in the first one (from Orcs of the Red blade) were:
Thanuk
Tarag
Morgeth
Groshnakk
Vezara
Those who participated on the second were:
Thanuk
Tarag
Morgeth
Groshnakk
Kozgugore
We actually won both games! In other words, the trial seemed to bode quite well. Me and Katalmach are already discussing a date for the next run, and I'll notify you as soon as we have agreed to a suitable time.
As a reminder: If you do sign up, please keep track of when the event starts, and if you all of a sudden can't come, then change your invite status to "declined". I get a bit stressed when I essentually have to skim through my MSN list and remind people.
Thanks for the fun runs, people!
Those who are getting invited for next Rated Battleground are:
Morgeth (DPS) Warlock
Tarag (DPS/Enh) Shaman
Thanuk (DPS/Enh) Shaman
Groshnakk (DPS/Blood) Death Knight
Kozgugore (DPS) Hunter
Vezara (DPS/Ele) Shaman
If you want your name added to the list, then post spec/name here in accordance to the set-up above.
I can't guarantee an invite to the actual Rated Battleground Group, so don't slaughter me if you don't end up getting into it. It depends a bit on what the Warsong Blades provide us with and what kind of set-up we end up with. In the Trial run, however, we ended up having to invite one random for the second run, so hopefully it won't be an issue.
Aye, this was awesome. Here's the scoreboard from the first match.
When patch 4.2 goes live, we might want to be sure to do around 5 wins each week, to reach the conquest cap which can no longer be done with only arena. Guess we would be able to without problems.
And just to clearify, the lack of my KB is only because i had to carry a stupid stick with a piece of shiny cloth on it the whole match!
I'll happily join in. But if these games will be at the same time as the first time dinner might be a complication for me. One that I can try and solve but still!
I'd like to give it a try,so if you ever need another orc to join ya...
Gurzac:arms warrior
Just not the next 2 weeks, irl stuff to do :P
(Gear will need some work, but i'll get to that asap ;D)
Next battle is on wednesday the 25th!
This is today!
Looking forward to it. Was pretty fun last time.
Will try to be done with/be able to take a break in, schoolwork at that hour! =D
Today's attempt went pretty damn well! I can't recall the exact numbers, but we've played about six games and won four out of those, both of which were Isle of Gilneas which, admittedly, -is- a terrible BG to play in... which means no need to do weekly arenas either! Not to mention the Warsong Blade fellows are quite nice people to play with.
Only downside was the lack of Red Blades!
Agreed. It was really fun. Next time for these are on wednesday the first of June at 20:30! I'll want those who are interested in coming on that day to POST THEIR NAMES HERE, or contact me in-game, so that I can serve you with invites on the calender.
Since my sub will still be active I am intrested in comming!
Muzjhath
I'm interested. Just let me gear up into that vicious a bit more. ;)
(for the new season, mind you, since this thread hasn't been replied to in a while)
UPDATE
There are are few updates regarding rated battlegrounds that I'd like to make everyone aware of.
1. Rated battlegrounds are now typically done every week on wednesday at 20:40. There may be variations to the time and day.
2. The make-up of the team is as follows:
2 slots reserved for healers (one for each guild - Ootrb and Warsong blades)
4 DPS slots for each guild.
This means we only have 4 DPS-slots to fill. If there are more than 4 signed up and available when the games take place we will make sure to rotate these people in, to make sure that everyone that's willing gets a chance at trying out these RBG's.
There are no gear requirements for the battlegrounds as of yet, and I doubt there'll ever be any. I would however suggest that anyone willing to participate should have some prior PvP experience and as much gear as possible.
Finally. If you want to participate, poke me in-game for a calender invite. Just remember that since spots are so limited you might not get to play that many games per night, even if you show up, since we may have more people than is required.
Krogon, Rogue, Sub, dps!
Radokan, Beast Master Hunter
Vashnarz Beast mastery.
I'd like to come next time! 2479 resi (atm, may be higher next time) Frost mage.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Time to update this information again. Yesterday most of the RBG group hit 1.7k rating. This means that when we get into battles we’ll be facing other teams of about equal rating. The fights are thus getting a lot harder than when we started out.
There’s a lot of interest in getting into these RBG and I have so far tried to fairly let people who want to try get in and then do /roll within the guild for each battle so that those who had to sit one out has gotten in again. This has proven an okay tactic for when there’s just one person that has to sit out. I fear, however, that it might not work if we have about 8 people signed up for 4 slots.
In order to keep up with the current rating and pressure of people interested in DPS I am going to have to start with requirements for this RBG that we run with the Warsong Blades. These requirements will involve having mostly season 10 honour gear (latest version). I don’t want to seem elitist, nor is it my intention to exclude people from something they really want to try out. As such I propose that we create another team for more casual RBG in which the current RBG’ers can join with their alts, for example. I’d like to hear people’s opinion on this, and if there’s anyone interested in leading those.
There’s also an initiative towards RBG with other RP’ers, as I have mentioned before. Have a look at the thread about it here: http://www.defiasrp.com/t3539-h-roleplayer-s-rated-battleground-group
The list for those who are currently getting invited (and will continue to do so) will be posted below. I’ve removed people who have (several weeks ago) expressed interest but never showed up for one, and those who have said that they won’t be participating for a few weeks. If you feel that you’re missing from the list, then send me a PM or whisper me in-game and we’ll talk about it.
THE LIST (Revised)
Morgeth (DPS) Warlock
Kozgugore (DPS) Hunter
Sadok (DPS) Mage
Krogón (DPS) Rogue
Groshnakk (DPS) Death knight
Muzjhath (DPS) Hunter
Raxxok/Unathi (DPS/Healer) Hunter/Shaman
Braggha (DPS) Death knight
As you can see, we are already far too many, and I have no idea how to smoothly solve the sorting into groups, since doing /roll is really clunky if all nine show up. Perhaps easiest would be to try and have two teams going. Those that gun for rating, and those that don’t. I’ll gladly listen to ideas or suggestions.
The idea of two teams instead of one, seems like a good plan, when we have so many who wanna try it out. :)
I was thinking about the two team approach as well, the other being more casual. Perhaps it could be co-run with the RBG initiative so that there can be some more healers. Just need someone to lead it.
Can't help you with the leading thing :P Mostly because i suck at PvP :P
a second team would very adviseable. as for those in the first, when you have new members joining in in half gear who havent a clue, it can to be quite honest, hamper the whole team and have an effect on wins/rating.
Not trying to put anyone off, of course, but just "trying it out" can be detremental to those who are "doing it properly".
just my 2 cents.
Put me on that list! Nao!!! >:(
I think you need to read my above post again <_<
Some ideas concerning RBG rotation (Names reflect tonight's RBG turnout rather than any kind of peking order):
Based upon three nights of RBGs a week.
Option 1 - Two set slots, two rotating (one game each)
Day 1:
-Kozgugore
-Morgeth
-Sadok/Krogon
-Groshnakk/Muzjhath
Day 2:
-Kozgugore
-Morgeth
-Krogon/Groshnakk
-Muzjhath/Sadok
Day 3:
-Kozgugore
-Morgeth
-Groshnakk/Sadok
-Krogon/Muzjhath
Option 2 - Three rotating slots (one game each)
Day 1:
-Kozgugore/Groshnakk
-Morgeth/Muzjhath
-Krogon/Sadok
-?/?
etcetera.
Option 3 - Two set (rotating from day to day), two rotating (one game each)
Day 1:
-Kozgugore
-Morgeth
-Krogon/Sadok
-Groshnakk/Muzjhath
Day 2:
-Krogon
-Sadok
-Kozgugore/Muzjhath
-Morgeth/Groshnakk
Day 3:
-Groshnakk
-Muzjhath
-Kozgugore/Sadok
-Morgeth/Krogon
So my internet was off yesterday evening 5(
Anyway, you should list flag carriers, Morgy. Ones who got DPS offspec. Like me ;)
Essential for WSG and TP.
what happend with the idea of making a second Rated battleground team? for those not good enough to join the rotation from the current one?
I wish to join, I'm pvp addict i love it i'm good at it and im tired to play with noobs from random bg and lose all the time.
Rogue Subtlety backstab spec.
I'm not a good leader but i am Merciless and loyal follower!
You guys still doing these?
Try to do them every week, though the season is ending quite soon.
shoudn't we make a new team to do this? since we are more that want to, that cant join in?
The idea of making a more "casual" rBG team have been on the drawing board many times. But alas, no one has taken the lead of it, and that's why it's never been succesful.
I guess i can try to take the lead, although i suck at stuff like that :P
I offered to take the lead on the casual RBG team however to me it seemed like the ones who where most actively online most nights which could be based around a RBG team (as it would need to be some what organised) It was almost 60% of the original RBG team. However I could try and talk to morgeth about this and find a suitable date shove it on the chalander and see how things go for that week.
For myself i would love to do the RBG's, but i have a 3-shift job, so it can be difficult to meet with event times some days/weeks.
