Poll
Question:
What kind of RP guild appeals to you most, racial-wise?
Option 1: I specifically prefer race-specific guilds, like orc-only guilds, due to their special nature.
votes: 13
Option 2: I prefer a guild of the "traditional Horde"-like races, i.e. orcs, trolls and tauren.
votes: 4
Option 3: It all doesn't really matter to me, even if it includes forsaken and elves.
votes: 3
Yet another poll for you orcs to set your teeth into! This time, I'm curious whether it matters a lot to you folk as to whether you're a part of a guild that focuses on a specific race, or whether it all doesn't really matter in the end. All on behalf of science and pure interest, of course. ;)
If your option doesn't occur in the poll, please state otherwise in a response!
For me: whatever works. If you have a solid foundation, it shouldn't matter all that much. If it's plausible and fun too.
But for Gnash as a character specifically, either option A or B would be valid options.
First one. Because that's like half the reason i joined ORB, ORCS! But -if- we had to include other races, then at least NO Belfs or Undead plox.
I wonder if people are asking or interested for this because they have non-orc characters that they don't have, and don't want to have, in other guilds.
If the vote is for an orc only guild, which is fine by me, what do people think of the idea of a seperate guild perhaps associated as part of the Red Blade tribe but not in the ORB guild. The guild could have a name of 'Tribe of the Red Blade' or 'Allies of the Red Blade' and is to give a home to those characters that people don't want in other guilds. It wouldn't have to be an in-character entity just a place to put non-orc characters for those that want to.
Ahh.
Whats our guild name?
Think it says it all.
Well i think multiracial is not a bad idea because it will help getting more active members.
But also i would prefer to have Kalimdor races only.
I have nothing at all against multirace guilds. If they make sense. But I do not think that orcs of the Red Blade should ever be other things than orcs.
Well the tribe can reform to military organisation like the warsong clan did..or the Twilight clan and Burning Blade clans changed to cults. So the red blade tribe could be named Red Blades Legion for example.
In my opinion all that matters is that a guild has a reasonable and unique background that gives it character. If a multi-racial guild has a sound background that makes it unique, gives it character and binds the members together, than there's nothing wrong with being multi-racial.
However this sort of background is very hard to find for multi-racial guilds. Most of them have either a too general background (all these "legion" type of guilds that have nothing that sets them apart from the other "legion" guilds that are out there). Or have really ridiculous and far-fetched backgrounds that are way too odd and absurd to be role-played out seriously (e.g. these numerous "cult of x" guilds that worship made up entities/demigods/mutated turkeys/godknowswhat, or guilds roleplaying to be dragons... not kidding by the way, there is a forum post on argent dawn forums petitioning that the alchemist dragon mount works indoors so they can properly roleplaying their own dragonswarm in stormwind... alliance RP hooray :P )
For a single-race guild however it is much more easy to come up with a good background, that's why I'd still pick a single-race guild over a multi-racial one any time.
