The Campfire / Worthiness
July 07, 2018, 07:46:29 PM
((This story takes place after the clan gathering of the 24th))

It’s a quiet and clear night in Durotar as Lofty floats around in Razor Hill. ”Where is he…” Lofty says quietly to himself as he floats into the Inn. “Not here..”. He makes a wide circle in the inn to make sure he didn’t miss the one he’s looking for and pauses at the entrance of the inn. ”Oi! Innguy!” Lofty shouts at the innkeeper. ”Make yourself useful and tell me where Gridish is!” Lofty continues. The Innkeeper peers at Lofty and frowns, clearly not appreciating the disrespectful tone that the booklet is using. ”Yano! Long! Skinny! Makes things go splat with magic! Seen him?!?!?” Lofty shouts after waiting shortly for a response. ”Last I saw he was making his way to the shore and was carrying something wrapped in a cloth.” The innkeeper said and paused. ”Now get out of my inn before I rip you to pieces!” the innkeeper shouted with a growl and Lofty bolted out the door towards the shore. Once the booklet reached the shore he found Gridish, sat in silence, staring at blade that is laid in front of him.

Gridish is sat silently with a confounded look on his face. In front of him lays a hand-made blade with a rune engraved into it. “Here you are!” Lofty shouts as he comes floating by and stops when he reaches Gridish. ”You still having a staring contest with your sword?! I’ve told you this before.. The sword will win every time!” Lofty says and starts to cackle. Gridish looks up towards his floating companion and lets out a sigh before looking back down at his blade. ”You still don’t think you’re worthy, do you?” Lofty asked while he lowered his voice. The Orc nodded before responding ”The last time I wielded this blade was-… that night. Since then more people have died under my watch then ever before. How couldn’t the spirits that once accepted my request even think about aidin’ me after I failed everyone?”. A silence arose across the shore bar the waves crashing against the shoreline.

”Well….” Lofty said as he broke the silence, ”The spirits-… You-… It was out of your hands. Desperate situations call for risky plans…. Everyone knew what they were getting themselves into…. And the spirits know that…. And honestly, what’s the worst that could happen! It’s not like they’re going to smite you down the moment you grab that hilt, right!?” Lofty says and starts to laugh, though his laughter slows down when Gridish doesn’t respond and a certain nervousness takes over in Lofty’s voice. ”….. R-…right, Gridish?” Lofty asked while bonking against Gridish’ head. ”RIGHT?!?!!-“ Gridish whacks at Lofty and snarled ”Shut yer hole, Lofty… I just-.. Don’t know.”.

Lofty hovered beside Gridish silent for a short while before speaking again. “ Well, you better ‘know’ soon, because by the sounds of that tribe gathering, we’re going to need you to be on your best…. And that is not with that-….. Sorry excuse of a butterknife.” Lofty hovered closer to the ground beside Gridish’ dagger. “If you don’t think you’re worthy-… or if the spirits don’t think you’re worthy….. then prove yourself -and- them wrong, by wielding the blade you crafted years before to start a tradition that the Nag’Ogar use to this day…. And cut those down that stand in the clan’s way…. But the only way you can do that-… that you can prove your worthiness, is to wield that damned blade. The spirits will respond, be that now or be that in the future… So what do you say?”. Gridish let out a long sigh before nodding. He unsheathes his dagger and places it beside his sword. He closes his eyes, let’s out a deep breath and grabs a hold of the hilt of his sword.

The Campfire / Alone
April 26, 2018, 09:55:35 PM
This story takes place six months after the events of “a sacrifice too many”

”Clunk!” echoed pickaxe as it slammed against the rock, swiftly followed by a dozen more. Gridish was slowly chipping a rock away in a shallow manmade cavern. With every twentieth strike Gridish channeled light traces of Arcane magic into the head of his pickaxe to support his mining efforts. Gridish experienced light surges of Arcane power ever since another prisoner took a swing at Gridish’ neck with his pickaxe, barely missing his neck and instead scraping the warded neck bracelet. However all attempts of contacting the Tribe through the spirit link have been unsuccessful. After splitting a rock into pieces Gridish rested the head of his pickaxe on the stone hard floor as he wiped the sweat from his forehead and took a moment to catch a breath. Every so often he would do exactly that to inspect his surroundings. Around him were several others, mixed races, chipping away at the shallow cavern. All of them connected by a single chain that stretched across the cavern, connected to the cuffs that were attached to their right legs. Each of the captives wore tattered cloths and seemed malnourished. The mining grounds consisted of the shallow manmade cavern, a circular field that was surrounded by steep rocky mountainsides that were patrolled by Orc and Tauren bruisers.  On the opposite side of the small field was the only feasible way out: A gap where the mountainsides would meet to make what seemed to be a perfect circle. Thick roots branching from the ground, forming an archway for the gap. Both sides of the gap were guarded by Tauren and Orcish bruisers. ”OI! Get back to work ye sack of crap! We didn’t pay big bucks for you to stand around!” an armed Orc shouted. The Orc, accompanied by two armed Tauren, made their way to Gridish. ”Did ye hear me?! I said-.” The Orc paused as he leaned torwards Gridish. Gridish stared at the Orc sheepishly. ”GET. BACK. TO. WORK!” the Orc shouted as he attempted to shove Gridish off his feet. Gridish sidestepped the shove with relative ease and watched the Orc continue his momentum in a downward trajectory towards the ground. Gridish slid in between the falling Orc and the two Tauren before the Tauren could respond, blocking the Tauren’s sight and yanking a key from the falling Orc’s belt unnoticed. Gridish swiftly shoved the key up one of his tattered sleeves before anyone noticed the item in his hand. The two Tauren stepped closer as a result, but stood down when they realized Gridish picked up his pickaxe and had resumed chipping away at the rocks in front of him. The fallen Orc, clueless to what actually happened, scrambled to his feet and growled at Gridish ”Watch it runt… I’ll get ye someday.”. The armed Orc spat near Gridish’ feet and walked away, followed by the two Tauren. Gridish couldn’t contain a grin from forming on his face.

Later that night
Gridish lay in a small shifty tent on the circular field. The grounds were dimly lit by torches, making it hard to observe the processes that take place at night. Yet he has had enough time to study the guards’ patterns and mannerisms during his six months’ imprisonment. The grounds were dimly lit by torches, making it hard to place all the guards. Around Gridish were the accommodations of the other prisoners. The guards patrolled the outskirts of the makeshift camp. What he had planned was farfetched, but it seemed to be his only option. Tonight’s target wasn’t the well-guarded gap to freedom. Instead Rimeweaver’s focus was a less steep section of the circular field’s rocky border which was covered behind a large supply tent. The challenge was getting behind the supply tent unseen. Once the patrolling guard had passed Gridish, he would have about 10 minutes before the next patrol would take place. ”I’m finally comin’ home, Kogra” Gridish thought to himself as he heard footsteps slowly approach. He watched the patrol of two Tauren walk passed his tent. ”It’s now or never.” he thought to himself once more. He grabbed the key and carefully unlocked the cuff without trying to rattle the chain. Once he was free from the chain, he looked around him to make sure none of the remaining bruisers though it was hard to make out in the dark. ”sod it..” Gridish whispered to himself as he pushed himself up, got out to his tent and made his way to the supply tent while staying low to the ground. The supply tent was only a few feet away, but it felt like miles. It felt like the closer he got the further it was. ”Lights on ladies. We’ve got a runner!” a voice shouted from the darkness and suddenly spotlights illuminated the field which blinded Gridish and stopped him in his tracks. It felt like he hit a wall. Perhaps he ran to far. Was he already at the stone barrier? Gridish tried to open his eyes, but the lights burned bright on his reticles that he was forced to close them again. ”Would yelook at that! If it isn’t runt!” the voice shouted and started to cackle. Gridish lowered his head and sighed. ”Wat is it, runt? Ye’thought ye’could escape? Well, I’m glad to inform you that you. Were. Wrong.” the guard Orc said laughing. ”Alright ladies. Rough the runt up for his misbehavior and put him back on that chain where he belongs.” the Orc commanded and several bruisers closed in on Gridish and Gridish was once again blinded, only this time by the darkness of unconsciousness.

The following night
Gridish lay in his tent, his entire body aching and his hopes decimated. The plan he has been working towards for the past six months destroyed in the blink of an eye. Yet another failed attempt to add to the list. Was it his destiny to die in this hole? Will Kogra ever find out the reason behind his disappearance? Gridish sighed and closed his eyes. Suddenly he felt wind blow on his face as if something cut through the air above him. He opened his eyes to see a silhouette hover above his face. ”Gridish..” a familiar voice whispered. Gridish grunted in response. ”How are you holding up..?” the voice continued to whisper. A faint smile appeared on Gridish’ face as he realized who it was. ”Contemplatin’…” Gridish responded, whispering to the familiar. ”Does the groundskeeper know yer secret? Does he know what ye are?” Gridish asked Lofty. The familiar dropped onto the Orc’s stomach and kept quiet as a guard made his round. Once the guard continued his round Lofty responded ”As far as he knows… I’m just some lifeless book.. the familiar wanted to snicker but decided against it for obvious reasons. The two let a moment of silence arise before Lofty continued: ”So… What’s the plan..?” Lofty asked Gridish carefully. Gridish let out a sigh before responding. “I don’t know, Lofty. Every attempt I make fails. People are let down. People die… I-..eh.. I just don’t know. What’s worth fightin’ for? My oldest friend is dead. One of his companions that he entrusted me with is dead.. The other is Grom knows where. Kogra probably thinks I’m dead-… I might as well be.”. The Orc sighed again before the familiar responded. ”Gridish. You’re not alone. You have me, you have the other prisoners and when we get out of this situation, you can return to Kogra and explain what happened… Then you’ll have her too! For now do what you do best. Rally the troops. Gather the pack and fight fire with fire. You’re a Rrosh’tul for a reason. Gridish raised a brow as he thought about what Lofty said. ”Yer Right, Lofty… Though this will take time. I’d need to convince everyone. Then we’d need to put a plan in motion.” Gridish said as he contemplated the idea. Lofty let out a snicker ”Of course I’m right… I’m always right. Anyways.. I need to go. The longer I’m here the bigger the chance is that they’ll notice that I’m gone. We’ll stay in touch as much as we can, Gridish. I have faith in you. Don’t  let your inner flame die. Keep on fighting… for Kogra!” Lofty said before he jolted off. ”That familiar never stops amazing me..” Gridish thought to himself as he contemplated how he would pull this off.

The Campfire / A Sacrifice Too Many
April 17, 2018, 10:51:29 PM
This story takes place a couple days after the events of A Meeting At Midnight.

“The old human? Kill him. He’s worth nothing” echoed in Gridish’ head before he woke up from his slumber. It has been a few days since Gridish had been captured. During that time Gridish and the young companions of his mentor were transported by the mercenaries to Grom knows where. Since their arrival the three have been imprisoned in a dark cavern, their hands cuffed to a chain which was attached to the rugged stone floor. The three were accompanied by a few others that seemed to be imprisoned like Gridish. Nobody knew where they were being held, why they were being held and what their fate would be.

“I heard one of the mercs talkin’ earlier” one of the young companions whispered to Gridish. “Whatever they are plannin’ is ha-“ the young companion stopped talking as two mercenaries came into the room. They walked between the prisoners, checking if all chains were still intact as well as the warded bracelet that silenced Gridish’ arcane capabilities. After confirming that all prisoners were secure, the mercenaries left the room. The young Orc waited another minute before resuming where he left off: “Whatever they’re plannin’ is happenin’ tomorrow…” Gridish stared at the entrance of the room and slowly nodded in response. “Please tell me you have a plan…. Please…” the young Orc pleaded. Gridish wished he could give the young Orc the answer he sought after. As Gridish was thinking of possibilities the three had, one of the other imprisoned Orcs lost their patience and started tugging at his chain while continuously shouting. “HEEELP. LET ME GO. JUST UNCHAIN ME AND I’LL SHOW YOU THAT YOU CAN’T TAKE ME A SECOND TIME” In an attempt to calm the Orc down, another prisoner spoke up “Shut up… they’ll come down here… They could kill you.” The Orc didn’t calm down. Instead it seemed to have the opposite effect and the Orc started shouting even louder. Two mercenaries responded to the distressed Orc by entering the room. “Shut yer mouth ye useless pile of meat or I’ll shut it for ye” one of the mercenaries told the Orc, but the prisoner continued his tantrum. The two mercenaries closed in on the prisoner and one mercenary kicked the prisoner in the face, knocking him out immediately. “Let’s take him out back… We don’t want him riling up the other meatbags.” One of the mercenaries said. The other nodded and reached for a chain of keys hanging from his belt. The mercenaries detached the prisoner’s chain from the floor and dragged him out of the room. “I might have a plan” Gridish whispered to the young companions as he watched the mercenaries drag the enraged Orc away.

“Hey! What did ye do to that other Orc, ye scums?!” Gridish shouted as he started rattling his chain. “Well!?!? Ye feel all mighty now?! Draggin’ away a chained up Orc?!” Gridish continued. The other prisoners looked at Gridish in a confused manner. “You don’t know what they did to him… They could’ve killed him… Be quiet if you don’t want to end up like him” one of the prisoners whispered to Gridish but it didn’t seem to matter. “Come down here and fight me ye scums! Come on!” Gridish continued. Soon after the same two mercenaries came down to inspect the racket caused by Gridish. “You want to get knocked out cold as well, spellslinger?” one of the mercenaries asked in a menacing manner. “Take this thin’ off my neck and see If ye can.” Gridish said with a smirk plastered on his face. The mercenaries looked at each other, shaking their heads while sighing. “What did these prisoners eat?” one of the mercenaries asked. “Same procedure as the last one” the mercenary continued as they made their way to the rebellious Orc. Gridish lifted his hands as far as he could when the mercenaries were close and pleaded “Wait wait wait… please no. Please don’t hurt me..” The two mercenaries paused and gave the Orc a confused look. “You should’ve thought of that before you made us come down..” a mercenary said, clearly annoyed. The young Orc that accompanied Gridish’ mentor slowly got to his feet and reached out for the chain of keys on the mercenaries belt that had passed the young Orc to reach Gridish. “I know…. I wasted yer time and-… I’m sorry.” Gridish said in response to the mercenaries. “I wasn’t thinkin’… It was stupid of me.” He continued, buying more time for the young Orc. The young Orc slowly raised his arms towards the mercenary’s belt. “Ghrm… You still wasted our time, so lights out for you.” One of the mercenaries told Gridish and got ready to knock Gridish out. Suddenly the sound of a rattling chain echoed through the room from behind the mercenaries. The mercenaries turned their attention to the young Orc that was trying to pickpocket them. “OI!” the closest mercenary shouted, drew a dagger and sliced the throat of the young Orc open. “NO!” Gridish shouted and jolted to his feet, just to get interrupted by the length of the chain. The young Orc dropped to the floor, blood flowing down his chest. “He tried to kill me!” the dagger wielding mercenary said in a panic. “Did you set him up to this, spellslinger?” the other mercenary asked. Gridish growled while trying to get free from his chains. The two mercenaries looked at each other trying to make sense of the situation. “Let the spellslinger cool off here.. Give him a chance to think about the fact that he has to live with the consequences of the decisions he makes..” One of the mercenaries said, gesturing towards the lifeless body of the young Orc. The mercenaries nodded to one another before leaving the room. Once the two mercenaries left the room. Gridish stared at the lifeless body of the young Orc and fell to his knees as he pinched away a tear.

One day later
The past several hours Gridish has tried to come up with a new escape plan but with little success. His mind had been clouded by the loss of his mentor, the young Orc companion and possibly Lofty. Will he ever see Kogra again he thought to himself as he knew it was a matter of time before the mercenaries would walk through that door to grab him. To end his life. There seemed to be no clear answer as to what he could do to get out of this situation alive. His years of training, becoming the Orc he was just to be captured and killed by mercenaries. The Orc felt lost. The Orc felt defeated. He didn’t even realize the mercenaries entering the room. He was lost in his thoughts. Thoughts of what he could’ve done differently. Perhaps he should’ve told the tribe where he was going to. Maybe everyone would still be alive, including himself. “Get up you sobbing piece of meat and bones.” One of the mercenaries said as he kicked Gridish. “It’s showtime” the mercenary continued. Gridish looked up to the mercenaries and did as he was told. Once he got to his feet, one of the mercenaries detached the chain from the floor and started walking towards the door, the chain in his hand yanking Gridish along. Gridish followed as well as the second mercenary. The hallway that they walked though was dimly lit by torches and carved out of rugged stone like the room he was held prisoner in. The hallway ended with a door. Gridish could hear several voices on the other side, but couldn’t make any words out. The front mercenary opened the door and stepped aside as the second mercenary pushed Gridish through the door. The sudden surge of light that illuminated the room blinded Gridish for a few seconds. “Our next item on the list is a special one!” a cutting voice shouted. “Fresh off the streets! An Orc talented in the arts of spell slinging!” the cutting voice continued. “Very talented I tell you! He took out three of my guys with ease! Was a tough catch… A great training dummy for yourself or maybe even an individual to bet on during a fight!” The room cheered and laughed as the cutting voice paused momentarily. “If you win, you will get his book collection for free! Several books filled with arcane markings and writing! Worth quite a lot if you ask me!” The cutting voice continued. “How about we start the bidding off with 20 gold pieces? Do I hear 50?! Oh too generous sir!” The wave of sound and light overwhelmed Gridish. The blinding light swiftly morphed into a blinding darkness. The only thing he could sense was the fading cutting voice “Going once! Going twice! Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold to the individuals in the back!”

The Campfire / A Meeting At Midnight
April 16, 2018, 12:50:22 AM
This story took place two years ago.

“Gridish, are we there yet? Can I say hi to him yet?!” the muffled voice of the Orc’s familiar asks the, what seems to be, the hundredth time in the past ten minutes. “Shut yer hole, Lofty.. We’ll be there when we’re there” the Orc responded in a rather agitated manner while he makes his way to Stonetalon Peak by wolf. The mage and his familiar were traveling to meet the one that took Gridish in at a young age to teach him the arcane arts. “Why did he ask us to meet him at this time of night?” his familiar asked, a question that Gridish found himself unable to answer. It was usually the Orc that reached out to his mentor. Lofty took the silence as his queue to pop another question: “Where does Kogra think you’re going?” . Gridish grumbled before responding “We’ll only be gone for a couple of hours at most. I’ll think of somethin’ when we return. For now, let’s find out what the old man needs” The wolf picks up the pace as Gridish tugs at the reigns twice lightly.

“Where is he?! Are we lost, Gridish?” Lofty shouts as he floats around, looking for a familiar face. “This is the location that was in the letter, Lofty. He’ll be here.” Gridish said as he sat himself on the trunk of a tree that had once been chopped down. It was a quiet night out in Stonetalon, except for the armies of chirping crickets. The sky was clear and the moon illuminated the secluded patch surrounded by trees where the meeting should and would take place. As time passed, Lofty got bored and returned to his trusty bookpouch that hangs from Gridish' belt. “Gridish.” A soft yet warming voice that came from the shadows of the surrounding tree line half an hour later. Three silhouettes appeared from the tree line. As they moved closer the silhouettes took form. One was Gridish’ mentor. The other two were a young Orc and a young Goblin, both wielding robes and training staves. Gridish looked at the two unfamiliar young companions of his mentor before seeking contact with his mentor. “Mok’ra, my ol’ friend, it’s been a while…. But if ye don’t mind me askin’…. Who are these two?” Gridish gestured to the two younger companions and his mentor gave the Rrosh’tul a warm smile. “These are the reasons why I requested you to meet me” his mentor said and paused shortly, giving his young companions to greet Gridish in their own way. “It is dangerous for both them and me to be seen with one and other. They are aspiring arcanists. I couldn’t think of a better person than you to teach them some of the basics” his mentor continued. “Me.. having pupils of my own?” Gridish thought to himself, confused as to why his mentor wasn’t training the two pupils himself. “As I can tell by the look on your face, you hunger for an explanation regarding this request” his mentor said with the warming smile he always seems to emanate. “It is a peculiar requ-“ the snap of a twig and Gridish reaching for his sword interrupts the elder’s words. Gridish and his mentor turn their backs to each other, the younger companions between the two in an attempt to shield them from what’s to come. Twelve Orcs and goblins armed to the bone with swords, shield and bows and a Goblin appear from the tree line. “What do ye want?!” Gridish shouted as he bared his teeth while taking a defensive stance. “You are traitors to the Horde…” the Goblin said. “I could have you locked up you know... you being seen with... that.” The Goblin continued and pointed towards Gridish' mentor before he paused “Or I can sell you for a few coins… and those young ones as well actually…. Capture them, alive preferably.” The Goblin grinned as he commanded his squad.

The four individuals were surrounded by a group of mercenaries that were closing in slowly, weapons raised. “Stay behind us boys” Gridish’ mentor shouted to his young companions before he started chanting a spell under his breath. Gridish was also chanting a spell under his breath, imbuing his blade with arcane energy. Two of the apposing Orcs tensioned their bows, aiming at Gridish as he continued to imbue his blade with arcane energy. The two Orcs shot an arrow each at Gridish which got blocked by a swiftly conjured frost barrier.  Gridish turned to the offense by shattering his own frost barrier with a swiftly casted frostbolt, the shards cutting into the two bow-wielding Orcs, slowing their approach. Four of the assaulting mercenaries rushed in towards Gridish’ mentor. Two of the four rushing mercenaries fell to the ground during their approach by two well placed frost blasts by Gridish’ mentor, but the remaining two mercenaries closed in on the elder swiftly. One mercenary tried to strike the elder down with his blade, but the tactical placement of the elder’s staff blocked the blow. The second mercenary kneed the elder’s stomach before sucker punching him out cold. Gridish was too occupied with the mercenaries in front of him to realize that his mentor had fallen and that his back was vulnerable. Gridish stepped forward, releasing the arcane energy stored in his blade towards the two bow wielding Orcs, cutting them down where they stood. Two more mercenaries took their place. This is where Gridish realized his ally had fallen and he was the only capable person of holding off the remaining mercenaries. Gridish’ vision went dark as the remaining mercenaries rushed the Orc and the younglings. All he could sense was the cutting sound of the Goblin’s voice. “The Orcs and the Goblin could go for a decent price on the market. Make sure you ward the spell flinging Orc or he’ll become a problem when he regains his senses. As for the old human. Kill him. He’s worth nothing.”

Game Related / Gridish' Resignation
April 29, 2016, 10:36:36 AM
Dear friends,

With a heavy heart I must inform you guys that as of today I am officially stepping down from the officer team. I’ve considered my options the past couple of weeks and even reconsidered them as time went on, but I feel it is time to take a step back. During the Storm Peaks plot I found a fine balance between fulfilling my duties as an officer, university and work. However, due to unforeseen circumstances that balance had been tarnished. After a taking a break for two weeks I was able to pick up the reins again, albeit slightly less efficiently. Sadly, fate struck again which lead to that balance being tarnished beyond repairs. What I mean to say is that I am unable to balance out university, work and fulfilling my duties as an officer and content creator for the Tribe, even though I still feel obliged to do so as long as I am part of the officer team. Therefor the best option for my own good is to step down from the officer team.

I would like to take this moment to thank everyone for the enjoyable and memorable times that I’ve had in OotRB. It’s been a fun, enjoyable and educative experience. Being part of the officer team for two (maybe more) years now, I’ve been able to polish a few personal skills that will certainly help me out as time goes on. Organizing, planning, and sitting through boring officer meetings (in which I swear Koz has fallen asleep a few times) are just a few examples that I can name. It has been an unforgettable experience and it wouldn’t have been the same if it wasn’t for everyone that I’ve ‘met’ along the way. So once again thank you all for my time with OotRB in general.

I hope that my departure doesn’t kick up any hard feelings. I’ll let you know that while typing this, I can’t help but notice a few tears escape those silly round things in my eyesockets (Ha, pussy!), so I hope you all understand that this isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly. Ever since I’ve joined the officer team I’ve enjoyed creating content for people to RP with. The thought of helping to maintain a place where people come together after a long tough day at work, or school, or just in general a bad day and have fun.. Being able to forget the stressful lives that they leave at the door, even if it’s just for an hour. To me that’s just the best feeling there is. As of now I can’t promise that I will be around in WoW much in the (near) future, though I will be on R-ID as hearthstone is a nice occupation while traveling to and from university. So shoot me up with a message there if you are bored or if you have any questions (as I realise that I have been rather cryptic in this post for reasons). My battletag is DavidVL#2945.

You’re in great hands. I’ve seen parts of the plot that is being set up and I know for a fact that you lot will have a lot of fun. OotRB will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you all for your kindness.

Yours sincerely,

David A.K.A. Gridish Rimeweaver.

The Campfire / A friendly Check-Up
February 22, 2016, 12:49:39 AM
Present
A soft, cool evening breeze rushes over the Northern Barren’s soil as Rimeweaver leans against a pile of crates. The spot he occupied is one he’s sat at before. A small secluded tented structure just outside of The Crossroads. Ignoring the orders both he and Steelheart gave the tribe not even fifteen minutes ago “Don’t venture from The Crossroads alone”, though he couldn’t care less. No Imp nor Elf was stupid enough to get this close to The Crossroads. Even if anyone attempted anything, he was in shouting range. Guards would swarm the structure in a heartbeat. Besides, a random Night Elf filled with bloodlust or an imp that couldn’t even hit the broad side of a barn were the least of his concerns. There was enough on his mind already. First there is Kogra and their pup on his mind. A little Rimeweaver-Windwatcher flailing around in this realm, with the she-orc of his dreams. Second there is the Nag’Ogar in training of which Gridish is doubting. “The first trainee to fail a Nag’Ogar task” he thought to himself and sighed. What was troubling him even more was the fact that Gridish gave the trainee another chance. Perhaps the Orc can get his crap together and become Nag’Ogar material, though Gridish was even doubting that. Gridish let out another sigh and reached for the bookpouch that’s attached to his belt. It’s empty. The third and final thing on Gridish’ mind. It was the reason why Gridish was in this secluded spot after all.

Two months ago
It was a cold afternoon in the Grizzly Hills and the Tribe had arrived in Conquest Hold the previous evening. Gridish was standing outside the walls of the hold with Lofty. “The attitude ye’ve shown durin’ the crash in Storm Peaks… The crap ye pulled, leavin’ not only me, but the â€"entire- tribe in an even worse situation… The way ye hurt Kogra-.. Unacceptable. The time where I actually needed ye by my side, and ye were bein’ yer disrespectful and unhelpful self. I am disgusted, Lofty… Absolutely disgusted.” The Orc sighs as the tome silently hovers in front of Gridish. A brief silence arose between the two. Just the wild life of the Grizzly Hills echoing faintly. “I already said I was sorry-.. Like-… A million times-….” Lofty said as he broke the silence. Gridish Exhaled deeply while staring at Lofty “It’s a never endin’ cycle, Lofty… Ye keep on pullin’ the same crap, time in and time out… And all ye have to show for it is an apology. One day ye’ll simply get yerself killed. I won’t be able to protect ye forever”. Both the tome and the Orc fell silent again. The wildlife of the Hills started echoing faintly once again. “I have made some arrangements, Lofty.” Gridish said. “Ye’ll be travelin’ with an old friend until things simmer down-… Until ye can simmer down. It’s for yer own safety… Like I said, I can’t protect ye forever”. Lofty tried to interrupt Gridish, but Gridish shook his head. “Take this time to think things over, to think about what you’ve done. Ye’ll be picked up later tonight. Don’t worry though. This isn’t farewell. It’s merely a goodbye.”

Present
“Hello Gridish, it has been a while.” A familiar voice broke the silence of the Barrens and Gridish looked up to find the caring face of his old teacher. Gridish slowly got to his feet to greet his old mentor. Gridish must have been lost in thought as he didn’t see or hear him coming. “Mok’ra old friend. It has been too lon’” Gridish said as if he was ashamed of the fact. Since the start of the hunt for the Dwarven Warband in Grizzly Hills, Gridish had not had any contact with his former mentor. It isn’t that Gridish didn’t want to. He had simply been occupied with Tribe matters, but his mentor understood that all too well. “So my friend, what is on your mind?” Gridish’ tutor asked Gridish. “Well..” the orc started, “I would like to hear how Lofty is doing. It’s been a while since I’ve heard about him last..” The Orc paused and sighed. “..And you were curious how your friend is doing and if he’s mad at you?” the Orc’s tutor followed up where Gridish left off. Gridish nodded slowly as a confirmation. “Well-… At first.. Lofty was Lofty. He was mad at the world because he felt mistreated.” Both Gridish’ old mentor and Gridish himself rolled their eyes simultaneously before his tutor continued “but not long into his trip away he realized and understood why you did what you did. It wasn’t as much to punish him. It was more about saving Lofty. Giving him time to think… and that is exactly what he’s been doing. He’s starting to control his temper. He watches what he says and he’s actually listening.” Gridish blinked and looked at his mentor “Are we still talkin’ about the same tome?” Both Gridish and his tutor chuckled. “He’ll need a little longer before he’s ready to return.” His tutor continued “He’s on the right path… Do you have any time where you’d like him to return?” Gridish nodded slowly as he thought to himself. “I think I have an idea, aye.” The two discussed the details, wrapped up their conversation and parted ways.

Ladies and Orclemen. This is a topic that has been requested a few times in the feedback thread and I was planning on testing it out in the Storm Peaks plot, but I may or may not forgot to do it at the time, so here we go! This is a thread that will show up during plots and will give a brief update on what has happened during plot events. This is for the people that had to miss out on an event for what ever reason! This will be the thread for the Dwarven Warband plot. Once we've finished this plot and move on to the next plot, we'll start with a new thread!

If you have any pointers on how this could be done better, please leave your feedback in the feedback thread and we'll take a close look. Now without further ado, here we go!

Venturing in the Deep (29/12/2015):
Rrosh'tul Gridish Rimeweaver took the pack out to investigate an assault that occured in Venture Bay mere hours ago by the Dwarven Warband in an attempt to find clues on the warband's whereabouts. Once they arrived, they found an Orc warrior by the name of Colonel Sanders. He informed the pack on the assault that had taken place and the pack set out to find clues. There were two storage buildings that were plundered. These were the main objectives of the pack as well.

In the first storage building they found all the crates plundered of their content. They also found some (possible) clues:
- A half eaten sandwich.
- An empty flask that had the smell of a strong alcoholic substance.
- A small stone relic (One you could make a necklace of.)
- Muddy footprints.

In the second storage building they found the following:
- A poorly madeshift mallet.
- A dead rat.
- An empty flask.
- Handmade bullets for a riflle.
- Muddy footprints.

In the attic of the second storage building, they found three Dwarves. A fight took place and the Dwarves escaped. They dropped a map in the process. The map can be found in the spoilers!
Spoiler: show

One of the Dwarves was severely wounded and left a trail of blood behind. The pack persued the trail of blood and footprints left by the fleeing Dwarves. On their way out of the bay, they found Colonel Sanders dead on the side of the road. The trail of blood ended by small abandoned ruins. One of the Dwarves was found dead by the ruins. A trail of footprints was left behind by the two remaining Dwarves. The pack followed the footprints to a small encampment where they found a Troll, an Orc and a Human, all murdered. There was no trace of the Dwarves.

Alrighty everyone! As you may or may not know, the tribe are traveling on an airship to Northrend. We're stationed on the Horde Airship flying above Icecrown, but ICly we're not flying above Icecrown.. We're flying above the ocean! There are a few key things to note to this ship from an IC point of view:

The airship isn’t anything spectacular. It’s an older looking airship. It has three small cannons to its left and its right ( Yes, the big cannon in the front isn’t there.. Neither are the huge cannons below deck..). The lower deck is loaded with supplies that the orcs have brought aboard as well as general supplies for Northrend.

The Captain of the ship is the lovely elderly goblin Cpt. Skidderbeard.

We'll be staying there from 15-11-2015 until 17-11-2015.
