Hello and hallo. Although I haven't been in the guild for a month or so I've still been trolling the forums and such. I won't be seen online much after today for I am leaving on a trip around the Europe and possibly the world next week. So good luck to everyone and see you again someday!

Heyas! This orc is going to conquer the world at the end of August and was wondering if there were any peoples who would be nice and hospitable and give lodgings! The first and foremost would be Stockholm area at 29th of August(is subject to change if arrangements fail). I'll be arriving at there in the morning and would love to have a 'native' to show me around and if possible, even give a place to sleep for a night or two before I'll be continuing my way up north.

Of course if there are other peoples willing to show their homelands or just giving a place to sleep for a night, I'd be glad if you contacted me over messenger (king_lodevyk@hotmail.com) or in this post.

Drakki out!

OOCME! And for those who don't know I am a 20 year old happymang from Middle-Finland.

The grunt asks you to stop and shows you the piece of fine leather with a message charred neatly on it.

Orcs, inform the others if they don't come by here. There has been rumours going on about how the Thieves are going to abandon the Deal I recently made with them and attack the Red Blades in full force. I had a chat with Crude, one of their leaders, about this and there's been a similar rumour spread amongst their Gang. Apparently an undead who refers to his master all the time has been spreading these rumours and we met with him. He asked the Thieves and the Blades to come outside Orgrimmar at the ninth drum the eleventh day and set there for a meeting place.

(( So yeah, while I still was in the lead I had a chat with Therak the Crude who told me about this, we met with this undead guy who told us to come in force at 21:00 outside Orgrimmar the 11. That being this friday. Hopefully you're interested in this. It is after all important for the interguild relationships. :3 ))

Drakash sat again on the flat top of the mountain, eyeing the magnificent view like he had so many times lately. But he was too deep in thought to actually enjoy it. Lately the spirits had been restless and he had had hardly had any sleep in the past week. Now he thought he knew what he had to do, although it felt sundering. The moon was already waning and the air was getting cold. The surrounding redness of Durotar began to shift into gray mass. Drakash just sat there, listening and observing. When the sun came to greet the barren lands again he stood up and left the mountain peak with a calm and determined expression to prepare for the future. As he reached the gates of Orgrimmar he jumped back from his mount, a pure white wolf given to him by the Frostwolves, and set his jaw before walking in. The wolf followed in his tail.

Throm'ka orcs!

As many of you know and many don't, we had a deal with the Sixty Thieves. We now have a new one, more benefitting to us. The thieves are to leave all the orcs alone, not just us Red Blades with the exception of the shopkeepers, who are mostly working for the thieves already. They are also lending us assistance in our battles if there's spoils of war to be had. In exchange for this we agreed to leave the Thieves alone in the Drag. If they however happen to 'do business' somewhere else than Drag, you're allowed to interfere. Also if they in any way break this deal, inform the High Blades. And orcs, don't bring dishonour to the Tribe by breaking the pact.

"Since the orcs' rediscovery of their spiritual heritage, their mindsets have changed. Shaman appear and commune with spirits and with their ancestors. The orcs' relationship with the tauren further broadens and strengthens their new faith, and with it comes new psychology. No longer are orcs bloodthirsty crazies; they are an ancient and noble people, bound by honor and ties to their allies."

Throm'ka orcs! It is time for you new orcs to show your strength and cunning again. Those oathbounds who think they are up for the challenge, New Bloods and those of you who have already been there, meet up in Kargath in the Badlands the 29th day at the seventh horn. Lok'tar Ogar.

(( So yus, another Om'riggor for mainly Oathbounds who wish to aspire to Nag Ogardom. New Bloods are very welcome to come and check how it's done and Nag Ogars and Varog Gors are supposed to come there to share a story of their own while waiting for the boys to come back from their hunt. The more the merrier. ))

The Campfire / Returning home in the Mountains.
June 20, 2008, 01:12:25 PM
Drakash Firemane wiped his brow and eyes. The dust settling on his sweating skin was transforming into mud and hindering his perception. His senses were overwhelmed by a torrid and barren world of red dust, red rock and a red sun glaring high on the red-hued sky. This was Durotar, this was his home.

The air was still and the subtle whispering of the spirits of the wind had quietened down for a brief moment. The blissful silence stopped Drakash treading a secret mountain path and he gazed at the red world stretching far down below him. Somewhere in the west he could trail the glimmer of Southfury River running swiftly and ice-cold straight from the snow-topped mountain region known as Winterspring towards the Great Sea in south. Across Sunfury River he saw something that must've been Far Watch Post and beyond it, the dark blue shapes of the hills that inhabited the Barrens. He bowed his head in awe and recited a respectful homage to the spirits. Suddenly the wind caught up again the whispering started again, ushering him forward.

Telf Joolam, the ancient troll sat upon the highest peak at the end of the winding path. Drakash had been there once before, years ago when his mentor was still alive. He bowed humbly before the troll, who motioned Drakash to join him. Drakash stood up, drinking his flask of water empty and stepped on the small flat circle that was the peak. Years ago he had met his first apparition of a spirit of fire on that same level peak. His life had changed much after that meeting. He had the feeling he wouldn't be the same after this meeting either.

Drakash sat beside Telf, who was sitting a few paces from the edge, apparently looking at the magnificient view. After getting himself into a good position Drakash relaxed and started to wait for Telf to speak. He knew well it could take days and the Tribe needed him, but he knew how these things worked and trying to rush the spirits would only lead to a longer waiting. Drakash locked his gaze at the view and sat there patiently, observing everything that happened around him. Suddenly, after a period of time that could have well been a week or just few minutes, Telf Joolam nudged Drakash in his side, offered a cup of filled with somekind of sapta and pointed at the horizon. Drakash quaffed the sapta and as he lifted his gaze from the red rock to the point where it met the clear dark blue sky his senses were filled with the very essence of fire and his mind was invaded by a loud, passionate and rumbling voice.

"Firemane, we have waited for you..."

The Campfire / The Council
June 09, 2008, 10:06:41 PM
Drakash left the pedestal at the Ring of Valour soon after choosing the second council member. Sweat was running freely down his spine and he felt sick. He knew he had finished the meeting abruptly, but he just couldn't take it. He felt feverish and weak and all the thoughts and whispers inside his head made him dizzy. The cool corridor leading out of the arena felt good and he leaned against the stone wall to catch his breath and thoughts.

Tirnak Lynxclaw was in the council now. Kozgugore's remains had been found. New era, and he was in the middle of it himself. The brisk air outside greeted him joyously and the gentle wind cooled his heated skin. He still felt a bit ill but his head was clearing as if the spirits of the wind soothed his mind. He walked down the street to the nearest inn and crashed into the bed, falling sound asleep the second his head hit the pillow.

((Sorry for leaving so quickly, just realized how late it was and the alarms are going on soon. Playing at my work place for this week due work issues. Anyway, hopefully it wasn't that bad. ))

Now that Koz is 'officially' gone, it is time for other members to step up. I have taken the 'control of the guild' for now and we are forming a council to balance things out. As for now, we're planning to boost our IC lives as a tribe and a warband and hoping that all you orcs join up for that. Some changes are inevitable and I hope you are ready for them. I ask you all lively "green little paws" to step up and help us maintain the reputation of Orcs of the Red Blade as one of the carrying roleplaying forces of the Defias Brotherhood. We're planning to enforce our visibility in areas like Orgrimmar and the surrounding areas to show the world we're still alive and kicking and through that, recruit new enthustiastic orcs. I hope you all will bear with us.

IC event will be organized as soon as we know ICly what's going on.

Okay, now that Koz is taking his leave (for some time at least) we orcs need to decide whether we join other tribes or try our best to keep the Red Blades alive. Bear in mind that no one wants do die a slow death.

I got a couple of questions and suggestions to you. Some people already asked me to become the next Koz. I don't know if I'm up for it, for I've never run a guild before and from what I've gathered, it eats time. Still, I am up for it if you want it to be so. If you know someone or want to lead it yourself, please tell so.

Or we could make a council to lead us for the time required to survive the blow. All ideas taken here as well.

It's late, I'm tired. That's what I can write now. Please be honest and straightforward with your replies and may they be many.

-Drakkimang.

Oh and edits! If we're going to stay alive and kicking, we need people who CAN and WILL organize events!

The question is simple. As an orcish tribe one could think we're highly disciplined and organized. The truth seems to be of the opposite. This post is not made to force anyone to play their characters differently or to point a finger at anybody but to me every normal orc's supposed to have a strong sense of discipline and honour. It is reasonable to assume that orcs are born and raised into harder discipline than most of us humans are.

So! To be a part of an orcish tribe is something you cannot find in our world and that is the main reason I would like the experience be as real as possible. To me discipline, respect and honour play a big part of the tribe's everyday life.

As to the discipline, I wouldn't mind being bullied around by my superiors (ICly that is) if they decide to do it. What I would -really- like to see is that the orders of the superiors being followed to the point and those who deliberately disobey continuously punished somehow. It would add greatly to the feeling of being a part of a tribe.

Once more, this poll is not for direct actions but to show what do the majority of the guild think about the subject.

Opinions are welcome.

Thank you for reading the sloppy handwrite of Drakkiboi the Fireman.

Hai guys and gals and mangs and mangettes!

I must sadly make this post, since I've ran out of shape. I'm trying to regain my former glory and that will eat some time, daily. It also means that I don't have that much time to play, as you have maybe noticed. I still try to log on as often as possible, but my social life has also started to bloom again and I do not know how much time I actually have to play. But I'll do my best.

May the spirits be with you!

Drakash glances at the starlit sky over Durotar before turning his attention to the campfire and the orcs around him.

My name is Drakash. No one knows where I was born, not even me, but most likely on the Camps. I don't have parents or other relatives I know of. I saw the bodies of my probable parents, they wore the colours of Frostwolves, like one kind orc told me. As a young cub I lived in one of the internment camps, most probably near Durnholde from what I've heard. I can tell you it wasn't a pleasant place to grow up. I was raised to see our proud orcish race as lethargic slaves. I was one of them as well until Thrall came for us, but that will be told later.

The earliest memories I have consist of stealing food and trying to find shelter from the constant rain. It didn't take long for me to recognize different type of orcs. The ones that had thrown away their hopes were the easiest target, since they cared of nothing that happened around them. Majority of the orcs were like that. Sitting and staring at nothing with dull eyes. Then there were drifters like me, who exploited the weak. I  wasn't one of the worst. I just tried to survive.

Drakash looks up from the campfire and peers at the visages of the orcs gathered around him. He slowly shakes his heads and resumes his story.

None of us here want to hear about the Camps, I reckon, but I was made there. A lot of what is me is based on the lessons of the Camps. I don't want to forget what it was like. It taught me to survive, to hide my feelings and it also taught me to see things differently. The memories of those times are the power that drives me onwards. Not all of  them were bad, tho. For example, laughter was a rare treat, but when someone laughed, it was genuine and many of the orcs who had forgotten who they were came back for a short moment. When I heard it for the first time, I made a promise to laugh as much as I could if I ever got out.

Straightens his posture and grins absent-mindedly.

And I did. I was but a little boy when Thrall came to set us free. All I can remember of the actual fight was the screams and battle cries. They set my heart ablaze. When the gates opened I was one of the first to run out to meet our saviours. All around me were Orcs, real orcs. Their ardent eyes were alive and they carried themselves upright and with honour. Then suddenly one of them caught my eye. He was young and clad in black armour and every other orc seemed to show him great respect.  From that moment, I knew my life was to change drastically. I ran to him and fell on my knees and pledged my life to him. When I dared to look up, he was smiling at me and  reaching down to pick me up on my feet. "Your life is your own now, Firemane", he said before winking at me, patting me on my shoulder and turning his attention to the other  orcs around him. I just stood there dumb-struck, thinking of what he had just told me.  Later I heard him speak much more, but that's the most important thing I've ever heard.

Drakash falls silent for a moment, like gathering his thoughts.

I followed Thrall to Kalimdor. My life was mine and I decided to use it to help the man who had saved me. I met many orcs who thought the same way. The elder orcs taught me to fight and swear. After, before and between the many battles we fought on Kalimdor, someone always had time for 'little Firemane'. Firemane was the name Thrall had given me when I first saw him, later he explained that it was because of my fiery orange hair.  Much later the name that the Farseer had given me caught another meaning as well.

Drakash tugs gently at his fiery orange beard.

It was when we landed on Kalimdor that I met the second most important man in my life.  His name was Thrommash Blackeye and he was a shaman. He too was one of the Frostwolves  and had followed Thrall from their lands in Alterac. He took me as his pupil since, according to him, he saw great potential in me. I think he was just a bit lonely and as he did not have own children to teach the secrets of shamanism, he took me as a  substitute. I didn't mind and in many ways he acted like a father to me. He was a healer of the army, although the first time I saw him fight I didn't believe my eyes. First he told me all about natural cures and the characteristics of plants and flowers. He was always so astonished that Kalimdor had mostly the same flora as Eastern Kingdoms. Then he slowly started to lecture about spirits and shamanism in general. We had a thousand conversations about the nature of the spirits and he always allowed me to watch him perform his rituals.

Again, silence reigns for a few moments, broken only by the slow crackling of the campfire. Someone adds some more food for the hungry flames.

Eventually he started to teach me how to fight properly. I had learned the basics from the orc grunts, but the skill to use an axe wasn't the only thing essential in fighting. He taught me of the balance of mind and spirits and in the end he took me with him to heal the injured on the field of battle. It was in Stonetalon Mountains when the spirits answered my call for the first time. I'll never forget the feeling and the look in Throm's eyes.  After that, the spirits haven't failed me once. After the desperate fight on Mount Hyjal I was somewhat respected among the orcs I travelled with.

I helped Thrall building Orgrimmar as well as I could. Soon after proclaiming Durotar for the orcs, my mentor and father-figure died of old age. Before venturing to the Great Plains, like he used to say, he made me vow to visit the Frostwolves one year later from the moment he died. I couldn't get a ship to the Eastern Kingdoms because of Admiral Proudmoore, so I had to postpone my plans. Finally, as a young adult, I left Durotar to find my own path. At that time, there wasn't much Horde activity in the human lands, so I had to sneak my way, unevently, to Alterac Mountains, where the Frostwolves were supposed to hold their court. When I finally got there, I was close to starving and dying of cold.  They took me in and I told them my story and my wish to become a real shaman. They trialed and taught me there for four years before I was ready for the true initation to shamanism.

It was then I heard that the Dark Portal had been opened and that the Horde was looking for more able-bodied and -minded warriors. I didn't feel or think I belonged to the Frostwolves and so I set out. The last night I was there, the elder shamans told me the true reason Thrall had perhaps givien me my name. The spirits of fire were rather favourable towards me, or so they said. The next morning I left the Frostwolf Keep and started the way back to Orgrimmar. It was a lot easier this time, since the Horde activity had increased dramatically. When I got to Orgrimmar, they sent me to the  Den to prove my worth. From there I slowly ascended in the ranks and fame and I was finally let to Outland, our ancestor home I had only heard stories about.

Drakash sighs slowly, letting his head droop before lifting his head up and looking at the orcs around him, grinning.

During these times I found the Orcs of the Red Blade. They took me in, I made my oath for the Matriarch and now I hope I have finally found a home for me.

He grunts his last words before falling silent.

For the Spirits, for the Ancestors, for the Horde.

Been thinkin and will probably ask to join the Seers as soon as I get to give the Oath. Just wondering if there's much Seer activity, and if there's not, it would be fantastic if we could make some Seer events. I'm willing to arrange some when the time's right.
