RAG Week this week in my uni, a great excuse for drinking in the afternoons.

It happens that I drink and have fun. But I never drink just for the drink.
If I get something that tastes horridly I pour it out (unless I'm so drunk I should have stopped drinking hours ago)

And I just think alcohol is a stupid invention, just like weapons.

Actually, alchol was a important invention in human history. One of humanities biggest hurdle to cross when building civilization was clean water. There are 2 ways to generate large amounts of clean water, a fresh water source or alchol.

Every single human civilization that's been around have made some kind of alchol. In Egypt they drank beer, around the Mediterranean wine was common, East Asia there was Sake etc. etc.

Alcohol have been very important for large amounts of people in form of morality as well. So much that Egyptian workers once went on strike to get more beer rations.

And without weapons we would not been around, early Homo species would not be able to get the proteins needed to get larger brains.

I don't drink as much as i used to (can't remember the last time I went out on a good old fashioned drinking session) but I i drink for fun and to be social, when I do. drinking is the cornerstone of Irish culture its the a central part to any and every social event here :p

Drinking was always the "reason" me and my friends went out to have fun. "Hey, want to go drink a beer later?" That's how we usually started a night of fun and games.

I have a delicious bottle of rum at home. I wish it was something I'd drink everyday but considering 1: Price and 2: family history that'd be stupid.
So I occasionally drink it when friends are over =D
