Edit: By the way, the only other (formerly) active mod here is Sadok. So using plural form kind of makes you seem like one of those forum rebels who complains for the hell of it and because "fuck authority".

One things it's a good idea to insult and taunt said warlord.
In hindsight the GM thinks he let them of too easy that time. And a few other times. Since two players KEEP doing shit like above.

So we'll try eyedrops after the treatment's done. First I'll have my eye taped off for a few days...

I got the wrong results from an exam back twice because they left out the results of two questions. Good thing I checked it (and had to mail back about out twice), because it was a difference of two whole points out of ten. Welp.

Goldshire in my experience is more cringe worthy than "horrible".

Albedo map is for colors, Transparency maps is for transparent effect etc. etc. Normal Map is to make things look 'not-flat'.

All those tiny scratches in swords you see in WoW? Normal Maps, they don't actually have a tiny scratch model on them.

Every single human civilization that's been around have made some kind of alchol. In Egypt they drank beer, around the Mediterranean wine was common, East Asia there was Sake etc. etc.

Alcohol have been very important for large amounts of people in form of morality as well. So much that Egyptian workers once went on strike to get more beer rations.

And without weapons we would not been around, early Homo species would not be able to get the proteins needed to get larger brains.

But I wonder what they do now with Velen (our highest Authority on the Holy Light) meant with "Light is Life itself", because they are now clearly 2 different things.

And the opposite of the Naaru is no longer the Void Gods but the Old Gods themselves? Damn. Or is it still the "Void Lords" as they seem to be called here and the Old Gods are just one step above them in the Order in Shadows? Does that mean we will have something above the Naaru?

One more thing I wonder is where the Spirit Realm is? Do the (6) Elements also serve as realms? And where is the Loa in this?

The Ancient are all tied to animals and nature, the Loa on the other hand is far more free, there is a Loa of the dead for example, the opposite of the power the Wild Gods have. There are Loa's bound to the elements as well, and who can forget our lovely friend Hakkar, would you count him as a "life" aligned god/spirit?

Probably the logic behind why Warlocks can summon Voidwalkers. If you follow this new image, it makes no sense why Warlock can summons Voidwalkers, Shadow Priests should.

Since the concept has already amassed 203 pages inside of 8 months, I'd say it's at least a partial success.

To understand this joke, you must know the Swedish languages. In fairy tells, it's common to start with "Once upon a time...", in Swedish this translates to "Det var en gång...", if you translate it back to english you get 2 versions, the meaning and the direct translation. The meaning is sort of like "Once there was...", the direct is "There was a path...".

So the jokes plays out that you are starting a fairly ordinary story but then pulls a switch and use the direct meaning instead, declaring that it was a path you were talking about and that it was sanded, sanding a road is something you do if you want to avoid people slipping on ice that can be common in Sweden during some seasons.

The only books I (half) read the last 10 years are study books or books needed to read for studies. After reading 1984, I had no idea how it ended, even right after I read the last page.

All I recall was someone sleeping, a mob tearing something down (don't recall what), walking trips? A girl? then... dunno, I think they got caught by someone for something.

There's a reason why if you want to understand a cultures "modern" works you first need too study their ancient works! They colour everything (So, in Europe the Bible and the Iliad+Odysseys to start with).

Got enough pulpy sci-fi and fantasy to read as it is in worlds I find more interesting. As well as a far to huge backlog on other quality literature.
That fights with TV-shows, movies, games, studies, etc etc etc.
WTB: Clones that can absorb culture for me.

The Street Fighter II movie can be enjoyable if you approach it as an action comedy movie only loosely associated with the franchise. It is however still, technically, a load of crap.
You wouldn't watch it for the composition or camera work. You'd watch it for tacky puns and bullshit.

Same as I very much doubt you read Dan Browns books to enjoy the written word divided from the narrative. You enjoy the stories they tell. Which is just as important yet there should be a divide between things. And just because the expression used to tell a narrative isn't the top of it's form doesn't mean it shouldn't be influential.
Even if tastes differ and you might personally enjoy how he writes. Maybe you'd read a Dan Book with a bad story just for how he uses English. The major reason I didn't read more of his works after Da Vinci Code and (the 1/3rdish) of Deception Point I read was the language they were written it. Same reason I don't read most crime fiction.
While I have books that were pure narrative drivel of nothing that just oozed magical structure in how they were written.

Mostly to ... try to make some sense in how I separate "amazing" art from "enjoyable" art. For me for it to be "amazing" it needs to both be compelling on a narrative and a language level.

Actually, "amazing" is an extremely subjective word. You can think a writing style is amazing because of how it catches you, and brings you into the story. Or for how well it fits the story he's trying to tell. You definately did come off as snob-ish and condescending in that post.
While there are more or less objective ways to judge skills in language, this isn't a discussion on who will get the nobel prize.
I'd personally call the Dresden Files books amazing, because of how hard it is for me to put them down, and how it catches my imagination.

Why I tried to make a point of not arguing the opinion of "I found it enjoyable", just chosen words to describe it that. Same as I find the Drizzt Du Urden books entertaining as *bleep*, yet I know that their literary value is pretty non existent, and the prose is mediocre. They still have a mostly good tempo that keep you reading for the narrative. And they have had other influence, mostly on role playing tropes in video gaming.

Same reason for why I'm annoyed over people screaming about "the graphics" when talking about a video game they find ugly.

I got a new tablet, woooh! :D My dad randomly came by and gifted it to me, I'm so happy! My old tablet is on top to show the difference in size between the two. It takes some getting used to now again, but it's certainly a big improvement.

It is believed one of the custom CIV mod was the source for the crashes, the current custom once in the game is stable so far.

Current it's Part 39 (Audio Narrative + youtube slideshow exist), Part 40 should be out tomorrow.

Currently, the largest war ever seen is going on, Australia (one of the top 5) vs. Kimberly (Top 7 ish I think) and Vietnam (also high up).

...and China under Mao just won't die! He controls a total of 6 Grids! It's hilarious!

Third person shooting can be fun. But if it looks like humans and doesn't die from one or two shots to the head I'm out. (If a shooters way of increasing the difficulty in Single Player is "increased health" I never do it since shooting someone in the head with a .45 cal pistol and them always surviving breaks me).

Even if I hear people with bullet-sponge tolerance are having fun in it ^^

My favorite is "The West Marches".
It set at the edge of civilization in a rather darker world then a normal DnD game, in the town of Viriskali several adventurers come to... adventure! Several new people features now and again, both people from youtube and Twitch go there for some adventure.

My Favorite character is a old as dirt dragonborn that's senile.

Heck, the show got it's own wiki because so many players have been on it.

They had a short Dark Heresy show, but it got canceled :(
But the "Vault of Terra" is apparently going to start one :D

oh, and Arkail, they got a Shadowrun show, Mirrowshades, a bunch of the biggest incompetent people that think they are really cool and dangerous shadowrunners. I don't think I seen a single plane of their going as planned as of yet.

We think both Gork and Mork are really neat.
We got a fair bit of Orks in our clan (from the days of our Doc)
We fight Eldar last
We fight Chaos first

We got a large amount of Mekboyz in our clan, we got fancy guns and trucks for days! DAYS!

The Biggest thing we ever looted was a dozen of Tau Battle-suits. Very fancy dakka on them, too small for a orks however.

So what we do with them? We took them apart for our meks, so now all the nobs got nice armor and we have some fancy shock guns

And dats is the Orks of Da Red Blade!

A New Generation - Gene-seed is slightly divergent (usually because of attempts to breed out flaws, real or not), leading to the Chapter being less linked to its progenitor

We don't get any mutation! Truly a Glorious Day in the name of the Emperor!
On top of that, White Scars does not have any common genetic mutation or flaw so we don't get any from them as well!

We are the Emperors Angles of Death, we hate Heretics, I mean, you be amazed how much we hate them.
We won't use anything that have been made by heretics, even if our lives depend on it.

Totemic Charm: This Chapter has strong beliefs in the icons of either the Emperor or their Primarch. A Battle- Brother from this Chapter would never be caught without such an icon on their person. Example: Chapter Heraldry on a necklace, Imperial Aquilla tattooed over the right eye.

As honoring, we perform trials and are rewarded by the chapter with charms. The Wvyern claw is one example as such. Each battle-brother choose what to do with his, necklace, armor/weapon decoration and so on.

We do not fully follow the Codex Astarte, preferring more Armored Combat, thus we field a large amount of Tanks and Vehicles. We also have some unique structure of our chapter.

From our world, we take the practice of Charms making, we craft symbols to symbolize the trials we take.

We revere our Primarch, Jaghatai Khan, he was a great warrior.

We are under-strengthen, we suffered many battles as of late, we need to rebuild. This is where our Armored combat helps, it's harder to die while being inside a tank.

We are enemies with Chaos Space marine... but what warband?

Wait, we have a Tomb World in this subsector as well? Damn. Akesh the Poisoner was offended when the Necrons would not be poisoned.

Chaos Warband: The Poisoned!

A Iron Warriors Warband lead by the once-loyal Battle brother Akesh the Poisoner. He fought during the Horus Heresy and is a master strategist.
Akesh proved his tactical genius when he assaulted a Eldar Craftworld, he poisoned many of the Eldar, killing of a great deal of them as a sacrifice to Nurgle and Slannesh.
His tactical genius was halted however when he came across a Necron Tomb world, he could not break it and it frustrates him to this day.
This failure to break the Tomb world and the constant armored assault from the Red Blade have reduced their strength greatly, Akesh must now work to keep his warband together as much as he fight the Imperium.

They are fanatical to Chaos Undivided.
They also suffers from body mutation that they hide underneath their armor.

They prefer Siege and Trench warfare, slowly crushing their enemies and take no prisoner, when they go to war, they kill ALL.
On top of that, they prefer to deploy biological weapons, anything from mutated soldiers to bio-weapons.
When their biological weapons won't be enough, they enlist the aid of local Heretical forces to act as their cannon fodder.
One thing they can't be however, is quiet, They will make you know their presence.

The Warband does rule over a world in this subsector, A dead world, poisoned by Akesh. The few people that still live there is nothing but slaves to the Poisoned.

As for games. I'm pretty much set for the rest of the year already. Dark Souls III will last me for years more likely than not, Stellaris is out next Month, will be the same.
Add to that Dota2 and that I got CS:GO from a friend for my birthday? Yeah, I need no more games. (And with that I also have some other RPGs to play like Dex and Undertale that I've both started and not finished).

Post by: Gashuk on April 19, 2016, 01:34:51 PM: I'm not particularly excited for the movie, sure it'll be a decent spectacle to watch and I'll enjoy it, but from what I hear the Lore is it's own canon and not strictly keeping with what the story was ingame/current lore sources and that really bugs me. I fear people will just see it as a bit of a LotR rip-off if they aren't current WoW-Fans and ignore/dislike it.

Not to mention I can think of a fair few films that were box-office flops after being taken from a successful franchise; DBZ, Avatar the Last Airbender etc. Live action film tends to suck unless you're a superfan.

I do think they will try and use it to try and up subs though, if they don't, they're idiots. A Legion game trailer before every screening would be worth it imo. They could even make a fresh trailer designed for people that have never seen the game before. That'd be too big of an opportunity to pass up.

In regards to the movie, I think Blizzard are trying to draw more people in. I work with 40 beer-swigging, football lunatic general basic humans who have no interest in games outside of COD and Fifa and they're all pretty excited to see Warcraft. Some even said it looks cool, some have even got tickets for it.

Its probably Blizzard trying to gather some more interest into the game before Legion drops from a wider audience.

You build things using stones and wood but it's clearly sci-fi inspired. You don't use 'picks' or 'shovels', you use 'power-packs' for your wrist device.

The combat is a bit better and the enemies more interesting.

Instead of a crafting table you just craft what you want on you.
To acquire some special parts (like sticks) you use stationary machines.
Instead of mining ore you plant a extractor on the ore block and it gathers it for you.

You could play this game as a warrior for example where in minecraft playing a dedicated warrior is unheard of outside of PvP.
Also, enemies got so much loot stuff.

Think Minecraft but way more smooth. I would recommend this over Minecraft if they keep updating it with more blocks types.

What's insane is that in Florida, the air-conditioning (i.e. to cool the heck down) was 24 degrees. It was often 38 degrees outside, the old triple-digit Fahrenheit. ;D
