Gohomi

((Roit. Since apparently character biographies went down with the wiki, I figgered I'd post my current character bio of Gohomi right here until it is ressurected, or if it isn't then I guess it'll just be here for posterior ;) ))

Gohomi Runeweaver

Gender: Female
Age: 84 years
Height: 185 cm/6' 2''
Weight: 80 kg
Hair: White
Eyes: Green

History:

Not many orcs live as long as Gohomi Runeweaver has. And even fewer are privvy to what she has seen and learned of her people.

Claiming to have been born in a smaller and more obscure clan called the Runeweavers, she proffesses that this clan was later swallowed up by the Shadowmoon Clan. This supposedly occured when Ner'zhul began to consolidate his available forces because of his upstart apprentice, Gul'dan, whom he never trusted again after he had decided to bind himself to the Burning Legion. Gohomi reveals very little about her function when she was under the Shadowmoon Clan, though there is a sense of bitterness when she mentions that time and most others simply surmise that it must not have been a good experience. If anyone does pose more questions about that time, she will often skillfully change the subject or avoid answering in some way, though it is suspected that she might share this part of her history with a certain type of person.

In sharp contrast much more is known of her stay at the Lordaeron internment camps, where she arrived after attempting to flee together with the Bleeding Hollow Clan and subsequently also being captured with them. She was put within the very same internment camp where Hammerfall now stands and, as one of the few shamans who had actually managed to remember the old incantations and ways, she felt a need to watch over the other orcs, whose lethargy was driving them close, if not right into, suicide. Many of them required her aid or reassurances and it is during this time, and through providing this help, that Gohomi had in fact learned about that which had eluded her previously on Draenor - the perspective of the average orc. In a way she even experienced it, as the lethargy had been affecting her just as well, though to a lesser degree. And it is with this newfound wisdom that she realized what she had done wrong when she was serving the Shadowmoon Clan. Then, upon hearing rumors that talked of Thrall and two orcish clans that were freeing orcs within internment camps, a vision for the orcish people formed within her mind, which however she would develop only after seeing Thrall's deeds for herself.

Eventually he came and Gohomi witnessed far more than just Thrall's assault, but also the death of Orgrim Doomhammer. Whilst many orcs consider his death a great loss, for Gohomi this was nothing less than a sign, that her vision will come true. As far as she was concerned the old was swept away and the new, under Thrall, was now finally ready to make its mark upon the world. Being freed together with the other orcs Gohomi decided to follow Thrall and watch him closely, for the time being at least, fighting as one of the shaman under his command and serving under him throughout the entire Third Great War. Though she did not attend most of the battles, that changed when it became apparent that the Burning Legion's assault on Azeroth was imminent. Suddenly Gohomi began voulenteering for every mission she could, even if sometimes she had been turned down due to her old age. Her two most notable events during that time were her exorcism of Grom Hellscream and also her participation at the Battle of Mount Hyjal. When the Burning Legion was finally defeated afterwards, Gohomi felt a vengeful feeling within her satisfied. For just as the Burning Legion had thwarted her own plans so long ago back on Draenor, so too was she able to aid in thwarting their own plans here and now on Azeroth.

Afterwards she felt that she had learnt enough about Thrall and the orcs as a whole. She then left into the wilderness, towards adventures that would build up her strength and prepare her sufficiently, until she was strong enough to set her plans for the orcs into motion. Recently she had also decided to join the Orcs of the Red Blade, for as she herself has noted their strength is great indeed. And that is most certainly something that Gohomi wishes to develop further within herself. Though what she will decide to do after she feels that she is strong enough for her vision to be realized, few people can tell.

Personality:

Most orcs do not think much before revealing as to where their true allegiances lie. Gohomi, on the other hand, does nothing but. She considers every individual and every group most carefully and, eventually, decides how much information she can divulge to them, as well as what kind of information. She also has a most clever way of disguising her motives and intentions. Ever since the first few years of her adulthood she has always used longer sentences, allegories, metaphors or other such methods whenever speaking to those, whom she does not trust fully. Usually other orcs might consider the way that she speaks to be indicative of her wisdom, experience or, in the opposite case, they consider her to be nothing more than a rambling old hag. But even though what she says does make sense and could be considered as wise, the main purpose of her speaking like that has always remained the same. To divert attention away from herself and her agenda.

And so it is that Gohomi Runeweaver has become a true master of deception and redirection through words alone. For she knows very well that, because of the way she speaks, the average everyday individual will look upon her either as someone who could hold great wisdom or who could just be an old rambling hag. At the same time though she is aware, that other wiser and more experienced individuals will most likely feel as if a kinship exists between themselves and Gohomi. Of course this is not nearly always the truth, since Gohomi considers her only friends to be the ones to whom she can speak normally and not in her 'wise' and diversionary fashion.

The thing that she is usually the least secretive about is perhaps her own shamanistic beliefs, as well as her close bonding with the element of air, followed by the element of water as the second one of her prefferences. This combination of course results in her following the path of the elemental shaman, whilst sometimes also dabbling with restoration powers when required of her. In regards to her own beliefs towards nature, she is, in sharp contrast to her beliefs about society and orcs, not secretive about them at all. As far as she is concerned nature could not care less about wether the mortal or immortal races and creatures live or die. She never considered nature to be cruel, but neither does she consider nature to be as wondorous as the druids sometimes glorify it. For Gohomi, nature simply 'is'. Any other deeper explanation than this would be reaching. However this simple belief is obviously not something that Gohomi takes in a passive way, for whenever she feels a connection with the element of air during battle, her eyes reveal how much her passions burn for becoming the herald of nature through her lightning strikes. Also, after completing her Om'riggor, she has been named Earthbreaker by chieftan Feraleye. She uses this name when speaking to others within the Orcs of the Red Blade, but preffers her old name of Runeweaver when dealing with outsiders. She considers the name to be apt, for her favourite element, that of air, is indeed opposite to earth and, if applied correctly, can rend it asunder unlike any other.

What is also certain is that Gohomi does not hold any specific allegiances, save for one that she might have, on the off-chance, referred to as 'the sisterhood'. Almost no one can tell, what Gohomi Runeweaver's plans for the orcs truly are, but one thing is certain. The sisterhood's ideals are her ultimate goal - whatever they might be and however she might plan to achieve them.

FlagRSP:

Before you stands an aged orcish woman. You almost have a feeling that she is as old as the dirt you stand on. She moves slowly, as if her energy was constantly low, yet somehow her movements are not awkward. Her voice speaks in a low, but smooth, altus tone. To most people it gives away a somewhat enigmatic feeling, that is however at the same time quite soothing, perhaps even deliberately so. When one looks into her eyes it often evokes feelings of patience, renewal and grace. During her more stressful moments however they also flare, as if they burned with unnatural energy. Due to all of this it becomes apparent, to more perceptive individuals, that this orcish woman is definately not limited to the description that she provides for herself. And she seems to prefer it that way.
